13 years later... Moved away, but moved back to the area and came back…read more It's kinda sad to see the place not as vibrant or as busy as it was back then. The food is still great comfort food and the diner classics are still there. It's not the biggest menu but it does have a wider range than others in the area with probably one of the better all day breakfast menus. It feels like it needs a bit of an update inside and seats/tables some refreshing. Service is not consistent- some days it's excellent and friendly and kind; while other days, my little 7-year nephew wondered where anyone was with his water.

The least they could've done was stretch the pizza out to the shape of a square to fill more of the box. Especially, since the pizza was about 80% dough, 20% toppings/cheese and sauce. I appreciate pizza when there is more sauce so this felt more like I was eating breadsticks with some toppings. I was glad to try it because I've seen YouTubers visit but I definitely wouldn't visit again. Not to mention I called and waited the estimated 15-20 minutes for pickup but when we arrived it took more like 30-40 minutes. So the disappointment was real but hey, not all restaurants can be winners!

I'm one person, I do not need to mix-n-match my menu, so I just ordered a simple Cheeseburger Detroit-style Pizza, from "Detroit Brick Pizza Co." - the ghost-kitchen in said-Wonder Food Hall. It arrived in about 30 min. (not bad...), but for a price point of $18.45 --- I thought it would be "more". It had all the elements you'd expect, but to have "Detroit" in your name, and I can find better "Detroit pies" in Hackensack or Chatham --- I'm okay. It was a nice experiment, but I'm gonna chose local businesses over "that". It was a square, not a rectangle. Pizza was more focaccia then anything. Pizza was delivered a bit room temperture, too.

This afternoon my wife purchased two portions of your "Harvest Chicken" from the hot foods counter. When she brought it home, we sat down expecting dinner. Instead, we were treated to what can only be described as a culinary experiment in dehydration. I didn't realize chicken could actually reach the texture of corrugated cardboard, but your staff has apparently mastered that technique. Large sections were so hard that even a fork had trouble getting through them, which is an impressive achievement if the goal was to create building materials rather than food. It's honestly a shame, because an animal had to give its life for that meal, only for it to be cooked into something no human should reasonably be expected to eat. I have seen more care put into kindergarten cooking projects. In the end, most of it went straight into the garbage, which seemed to be the most appropriate place for it. For comparison, a stop at Burger King would have been a noticeable upgrade in quality. You may want to take a look at what's happening behind that counter, because if this is the standard being served to customers, something has gone very wrong.
