They also broke the top slat of my fence by stepping on it to try to get to a branch. This is not my tree nor am I the owner, and while the impacted neighbor had every right to to cut branches that were problematic for her building, you are required to clean up all of the debris. I gave them access, I said to one of the crew members, "you're going to clean this up right?" He looked over and said "oh" and left. At worst, this would be considered illegally dumping, at best, I would just call it sloppy.

The bid for the tree was in line but the bid for the rose bush was too high so we negotiated a fair price. Nemias seemed to know how to prune a rose bush. It takes time and patience. Cutting it wrong can and most likely will kill the plant. The rose bush in question at my house produces a huge amount of deep red roses each year so I am very particular of its pruning. He assured me his people knew how to do it. When the day came they did an excellent job on cutting the crepe. However they used a "Hedge Trimmer", that's right a "Hedge Trimmer" to cut the rose bush, which took all of "2 minutes". It was obvious they had no idea how to trim the plant. For the $60 they charged I could have gone into my garage and mutilated the plant with my own hedge trimmer. The site manager Oscar, assured me his man knew what he was doing. He didn't. They didn't. When it comes to trimming trees, I am sure they are excellent. DO NOT, however, let them touch anything that requires "real knowledge" of horticulture. You will be greatly disappointed.

We hated to cut down this over 100 year old Oak tree in our yard. But it was near our house and the branches high above were over our house and the trunk was starting to lift out of the ground! Before it destroys our home or our neighbors homes from strong winds and storms, we decided to have it cut down, it was time for it to go. I called in 5 tree experts, we chose CROSS ISLAND TREE SERVICE, we liked the reviews seen on Google, Santos the owner came over in less than an hour after I called him for an estimate, after a little back and forth about the price, Santos gave us a very fair price the we could afford. Santos also assured us, no property would be damaged and all debris would be cleaned up. Santos told us, to trim and prune the Red Maple tree in front of our house and to remove and grind down the stump of the Oak tree on the side of our house and because we are a corner property with wires on the side and in front of our house, it would take about 3-4 hours using 10 men. Santos told us this was really a small job for him and he does small as well as much larger jobs too. We were lucky, CITS had a morning opening to do the work 3 days from the time the estimate was given. The day the work began, I opened my door at 7:30AM, their truck and chipper machine were already in front of our home! Men were moving in all directions, some started trimming the Red Maple tree and others were already climbing up the old Oak tree, Santos said for this job he did not need to use his bucket truck, his men were skilled enough to climb and take down this tree even over wires and a busy Avenue with morning traffic.Wow, I did not know where to look and watch first? Everyone knew exactly what they had to do! No branches were dropped to the ground, all branches were lowered by rope and placed exactly where they wanted it to be, from there it carried to the chipper machine and blown into the back of their truck to be hauled away. Santos the owner stayed on this job the full time, he manned the chipper machine and did other jobs too. We were in awe, this crew ran like a precision time piece, as the branches and leaves came down, there were men raking and cleaning up as the tree removal progressed, just amazing! When it came time for the heavier branches and tree trunk to be cut they used what I call a hydraulic grabber that grabbed the heavy wood and placed it where they wanted it to go, Santos was operating this grabber machine even between the wire on the street, I still cannot believe what I saw happening before my very eyes. CITS equipment to me looked all brand new, trucks and machinery alike, you could see all was well taken care of and NO OIL LEAKS in the streets, like other reviews complained about using OTHER tree service companies! With the okay from Santos, around 10AM, I had delivered a hot breakfast and coffee for everyone and when the job was done I gave each of the men a nice thank you tip. I felt they really deserved it! With all these long branches coming down, they NEVER TOUCHED our home, the fence, the hedges or shrubs, when the left at 11:30AM, 4 hours later, our lawns and streets were so clean, you would never know they were here at all. They even brought wood to my neighbor for his fireplace two doors down. I cannot say enough about this great tree service company run by Santos!
