Paris Baguettes are usually hit or miss. We dropped by on a Sunday at almost 11 to pick up a few baked goods for a late brekkie/snack. I usually love the curry croquettes but they don't always have them so I always get it when I see it. This one tasted a bit old and dry. I'm not sure if it was a fluke or not. Hubby got some kind of hot dog bun, which tasted pretty fresh. Staff could be a little friendlier, as my cashier barely looked at me and just seemed like he was hating every minute of being there. While I do enjoy the food and drinks from PB, I must say that I feel awful the 2 minutes in total I'm there for my visit. There's a particular older woman in there, who's there every visit (not sure if she's this locations owner or manager) but she's incredibly nasty as far as attitude. As I mentioned im typically here less than 5 minutes to pick my own pastry and perhaps order a coffee. She constantly stares me down as if I'm doing something wrong and is very annoyed when I seem to "hold up the line" (there's usually no one behind me) by entering my PB rewards. This happened on my most recent occasion where she seemed irritated and not only me but the cashier who was down his job. She then seemed annoyed I was still there waiting for my coffee. I'm so confused on what's up with the attitude because for months this has been the case. Also when I pick up a cake that I pre order and pay for she doesn't seem to ever believe me lol. We got a lot of compliments on mini sandwiches, vegan options , croissant sandwiches , a delightful salad and a big berry bowl with yogurt. But the star was definitely a cake. This is a small, clean place with seating along the window. It doesn't take a lot of people to feel crowded, as the aisle between the breads and pastries are narrow. However, all that is forgotten once I eye the pastry assortment in the middle of the store. My goodness - it's a pastry wonderland. To make it easier, I selected things that I never tried at the other Paris Baguette in NYC (mind you, I really had to limit my impulse to just get one of each of everything!) This is a chain boulangerie (that's French for bakery). They have pastries, coffee, cookies etc. I love the variety and the set up. You take a tray, place a protective paper cover on it, grab some tongs and choose your snack(s). I really love this chain. I've been to several locations in New York city, Queens and New Jersey. My favorite is in Flushing, Queens and least fav is Jersey. It's still delish but a smaller location, the coffee is out so it gets cold quickly, they have minimum staff and the items are delivered in, not baked on site like most locations. To this day I still don't know why this Paris Baguette is still open when there's a huge location down the block from this one. However, there are some perks to this location. Decor - Since this place is a franchise the decoration all looks the same. A lot of neutral colors. Very clean and organized. Food are all labeled. The space however is very small. There's 2 4 seaters and 1 double seater. I could see why though, hardly anyone comes here. The perk about this place is that they have a parking lot shared with another store, but still a parking lot. The bigger location down the block has street parking or a 90 minute free parking lot across the street. Food - Some pastries are also a bit tasteless unless you're opting for something with a hotdog or ketchup in the pastry. I did however buy a cake from here one time and they didn't have any more of the cakes in the back so they gave me the one on display. Do not, I repeat, Do not purchase the ones in the display. They may say it was made in the morning, but the cake that I bought was dry and hard and usually their cakes are very soft and moist. (yes, I said moist) Price - The pastries are a bit overpriced. They range anywhere from $1.50 to $5.00 depending on what you're getting. Service - No much of service in a sense that you're picking out your own pastry. Cash for goods transaction. I cant believe I've been living 15 min away for 2 years and never came by this gem. Everything is so high quality in terms of taste and packaging. I tried many things, all of which were just amazing. It seems like a place where anything you get will be good so don't be afraid to go with your gut. I finally came here last weekend and was blown away! Small little storefront located rite on Lemoine Ave in Fort Lee walk rite in grab a tray and get ready for an amazing experience. I literally was in aw of everything they make here cakes, pastries, even macarons! I tried to buy a little bit of everything they had to offer and everything I tried was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. The cronuts they have here will blow your mind, I bought the blueberry and the lemon and both were absolute perfection, flaky goodness! The little creme brule donuts they have are also delicious along with pretty much everything they have in this store. The cakes that they make look like a work of art and from what I gather you have to order a few days in advance. Before you leave with all of your goodies make sure you grab a container of the cookies they sell delightful bites because they are not lying when they say they are delightful but they should also add addictive to the description because they didn't last an hour. Paris Baguette is one of my favorite chain bakery stores. The desserts and drinks are consistently delicious, creative, and made with quality ingredients. The price points are a bit higher than your average bakery/cafe but well worth it. The detail placed into every dessert and freshness is outstanding. I've yet to try something I didn't like. I got the strawberry fresh cream slice ($5.50) at this location and it was one of the best cake slices I've had. The strawberries were the best quality and incredibly fresh. The cream was freshly whipped, light, not too dense, and not to sugary which I really like. The cake was moist like a sponge cake, airy and again not dense. Delicious! I will definitely need to order a full sized cake from here in the future. The cakes are very well priced for the quality, taste, and size. Avg about $28-35 depending on what type of cake you get. The hot matcha green tea latte I got was very good as well. A tad bit too sweet but overall very good. The only problem with this location is the size. The shop is located in a tiny corner on the side of the building - extremely small with hardly any room to sit. I've been to other branches in the city and central jersey where the store is much larger with plenty of seating space. Overall though excellent bakery. read more

Stopped in here for a cup of coffee after dinner. The coffee was good and the service was great. I bought a strawberry cake for $35 to take to a friends house. The frosting was ok. I am a big fan of Paris Baguette and have been to several of its locations. I have found the quality to be pretty consistent except for this time from this fort lee location. The bakeries were quite a bit smaller than the previous three times I ordered from other nearby locations, and those were only within this month. Okay I love Paris baguette. I've always loved all their cakes and breads, but I just came back from visiting this Paris baguette and something was not right with the croissant I ate. I bought 2 matcha croissants, 1 espresso croissant, and a few other things. So I've never tried the matcha croissant before at any Paris baguette, but my brother has tried it before and he loved it. Perfect amount of sweetness, not too sweet but just right. So that's why I thought I would love it. SOMETHING WAS NOT RIGHT, I think they forgot sugar because I was straight up eating matcha cream. It was so bitter I could not eat it. So I went up to the cashier and she says that they're not supposed to be sweet. I don't doubt her but mine was so bitter, no sweetness at all. I couldn't eat it. So now I'm wondering, is it just me? So I had to look up matcha croissants Paris baguette on Google/ YouTube/ Reddit and this guy on Google did a taste test of the matcha croissant and the color of the cream was so different than mine. Mine was this dark bright green color and this guy's matcha croissant on YouTube is a light green. So now I'm confused and determined to find out if all matcha croissants are very bitter like matcha without sugar or if it's just this location. Going to edit this post in a week or two when I visit another Paris baguette in the city.
