Service and ambiance was great and even though there isn't many vegetarian options on the menu, the Chef was able to make me a risotto dish with ricotta dumplings instead of the meat that normally comes with it. The risotto was fantastic but the ricotta dumplings were a bit on the bready side, not like asian dumplings. However, they clearly prepare everything fresh and it was very much appreciated they were willing to make a dish for me. We also got the burrata appetizer and it was absolutely delicious. I don't leave many 5 star reviews but Parish is very deserving of that rating. The food is exceptional, the service very professional and the wine list is one of the best, especially the by-the-glass selections. Parish is without a doubt the best restaurant in Monroe and is probably among the top 5 in all of the state. I grew up in Monroe and there was nothing like Parish when I lived here. We were back for a family wedding and so glad to find this place. But truthfully, Parish is worth a trip to Monroe on its on. First tip - make a reservation at least a week in advance. Second - the Ridge "Three Valleys" red blend (mostly Zinfandel) is an excellent wine choice, so glad to see this by the glass. Also several nice chardonnays by the glass. Save room for dessert. Stumbled across this gem when our intended dinner spot turned out to be closed. Recommend calling in a reservation as the inside dining was full upon arrival. We chose to sit outside not realizing there was a shower on the way. After relocating to a patio seat under an umbrella due to a light drizzle starting up, our waitress reassured us that there would be seats inside in case weather got too bad. (Thankfully it never did!) We enjoyed our peaceful outdoor dinner with a view of the most beautiful fig trees (might have snagged a ripe one to see how sweet these fruits really were) Overall amazing service from the sweetest server, Chasey, and amazing experience outside!! Now for the food...I am speechless as this is easily one of the best meals I have had to date. Started off with the duck wraps and the appetizer special, crawfish and crab cake over corn salad. These were both to die for. At the first bite, I knew we were in for a treat!! For entrees, we went for the handmade rigatoni and the gulf fish of the day (mahi mahi). Two absolutely incredible meals. The pasta was on the richer side but that did not stop us from continuing on. When asked by Chasey if we were interested in desserts, a "yes" was given without hesitation. We just knew if there were more options, we must try them. Refraining from ordering one of each, we tried the fresh fig milk bread pudding and the lemon meringue pie with sorbet. Yes, the fig dessert is made from figs straight off the tree we were admiring prior. A heavy dessert but so worth it. The lemon was on the lighter side and an amazing ending to the most wonderful and satisfying meal. Recommending this to everyone I can!! Thank you Parish for a wonderful night!! read more

Absolutely amazing. From beginning to the end. Wonderful atmosphere as well. The servers were highly attentive and paid attention to every little detail. And the food was just . I tried 3 different appetizers and holy cow. The flavors just burst into your tongue. I had the ribeye entree and tasted two others. Fabulous. Even the potatoes were too notch. And man those desserts. They were also delicious. The lemon meringue was probably the best I've ever had and I buy my lemon meringue pies normally from a French pastry chef so real competition there. read more

ok.. so im from texas. the woodlands to be exact. so im pretty familiar w bougie restaurants and my appetite as well as my palette are well versed in what tastes amazing and what i wouldnt even feed to a trash panda. that being said... let me tell you about this amazing jewel in a small town called monroe Louisiana. i am here assisting with the medical covid relief mission and i had though for weeks that this little town was in fact a fine dining desert. THEN i happened across this little place while browsing around haphazardly for a place to eat on my one day off. the short version: get the alligator. holy smoly! crispy but not over done. enough crunch to be pleasing, but also done to where you can still get the flavor of the 'gator. get the swordfish and/or the tuna. the swordfish cooked to perfection, the juice from the clams adds just the right amount of salt/sweetness to accent the natural flavor of the swordfish without making it taste too fishy. the tuna was just seared enough to give texture, but left rare enough in the middle to make you believe that the cut you got was from a sushi grade tuna. the bed of salad w dressing provided the right texture contrast while the dressing actually help kick up the flavor of the tuna actually making my inner fat child want more. the wine: get the tarrant. period. full stop. the dessert: simply amazing. first blush you would think you were getting like a parfait.. but youre not. it was delicious, it was awesome... and if it wasnt a social faux pax, i would order it first! hoping that there are other foodie gems in this little town put on the map by the duck dynasty show! read more

Lives up to every great review! Loved the attention to every detail, from attentive table staff to people swooping by undetected to remove empty plates and glasses. It was a wonderful experience. The water glasses full and cold, a complimentary toast with a sparkling wine for our anniversary, a knowledgeable and friendly wait staff with excellent recommendations, incredible food, and a table side visit from Chef Bahr himself! Had the baked oysters (delicious), wedge salad is the best I have ever had, scallops and fish of the day were excellent and service was also just right! Another great night and delicious dinner! We started with the Canvasback Cabernet (hubby) and I had the Flying Tiger Man at Arms, my favorite Amber. Our appetizer was the Trout Dip with Fried Pork Rinds! Very crunchy with an amazing combo of flavors! We were honored with a visit from Eric, the sommelier, and we talked about wines and Ruston (where we all live) and good places to eat in NOLA. A nice part of getting there early is meeting their hardworking staff. Hubby and I split the special 8 oz. Filet with Risotto & Mushrooms and Oxtail. It's the perfect size for two if you're saving room for dessert! AND WE WERE! Chad (our adorable waiter) brought us The Elvis! We enjoyed every bite of our meal crunchy pork rinds and all! Ridiculous. As, in 1 - ridiculously good, 2 - you're ridiculous not to go here, and 3 - ridiculous that to find such a great place in Monroe (I don't think of Monroe as a food mecca). I was in town from Dallas and had stumbled upon this place on Instagram. I loved the message and it didn't disappoint. Frankly, it rivaled any great restaurant I've been to anywhere. I started with the crawfish fritters. Light and crispy batter (check), fluffy interior with the crawfish (double check) topped with a little sauce. Outstanding. Main was the dry aged duck. Perfectly done with crispy skin. I was surprised at how good the sweet potato was that came with it. Topped with a chimichurri or salsa verde, it was....ridiculous. I sat up at the bar since I couldn't get a table and got great service from the bartender. On the way out, the chef greeted me and we spoke for a minute. He seemed genuinely appreciative of my visit which is always an excellent touch. All in all, ridiculously good! read more

Absolutely fantastic place. Had the rare opportunity to dine at a corporate event here, at which my group was served a majority of the dishes on the menu. All of it, ALL of it was simply stunning, one plate after the next. Everything perfectly prepared, absolutely impeccable service from the super-professional servers, all done in a comfortable but trendy atmosphere. This is the kind of food I'm used to seeing in big city establishments, but the personable service from Chef Cory and his lovely wife is purely local! What must you absolutely try? The ricotta gnocchi with jumbo lump crab is decadent, but the one dish that stunned me the most was the crispy sweet potato side, it was unlike any sweet potato preparation I've ever had, anywhere. Sometimes it's challenging to find world class restaurants along the cross country interstate road trips but now I have a memorable one to return to. Located at a natural stopping point between Atlanta and Dallas, that they were open to 10pm was the first attraction. And then, carefully crafted cocktails, beautifully prepared classic Cajun plates, accompanied by a solid wine list, yeah! We though we died and went to Cajun heaven!
