She told us when the best time was to come in and order as well as how far in advance we needed to come in to order. My other opinions about Jewel match many of the other reviews: (1) their prices are higher relative to other grocery stores, (2) they do have a good produce selection, meat and fish counters. (3) They also have a wide variety of staples. (4) There is usually a mismatch in some pricing shown in the aisles and when you check out. (5) It is very hard to find anyone working at the store who can help you if you need something. So, for selection and fresh product freshness, they score well. For pricing and service, they don't match other grocers.

Unfortunately, the representatives there have also been unfriendly and unprofessional, like they are doing you a favor. On top of the poor service, the prices in this store are outrageously high compared to other grocery stores in the area. Between the inaccurate sale pricing, the attitude from employees, and the overall experience, this location has been by far one of the worst grocery stores I've dealt with. THE WORST! Very disappointing. This was strike 3. I will not spend one more dollar at this store.

While they used to be the least expensive store for just about everything, we've also seen their prices climb over the years. But compared to the large grocers in the area like Jewel, they are much less expensive. Shopping at Valli can be fun - you'll see things you've never seen before. Lots of people shop there so also be prepared for lines at their checkout counters. But, it's all worth it.

Jewel has it good parts and it bad parts…read more The good: They have a great produce selection. Their meat and fish counters have lots of choices and are of high quality. They have a very large selection of foods. They also have a pharmacy (Osco) in the building. The bad: They are chronically understaffed. If you need help, you are pretty much on your own. Their prices are generally higher than other grocery stores. I don't know how to rate this but there is a Jewel app where you can order food for delivery. They also have "virtual coupons" you can "clip." the app is tied to your phone number so, if you enter it during the check out process, any coupons you clipped in the app are honors. They have some good buys contained in the app. I still go there if I need something quickly that I know they have in stock. They also do run good specials sometimes and I review their circulars when we get them in the mail. So, overall, they are a solid three stars.

They were in like two different places and each place the grapes have mold growing all over them. It was disgusting. They were soggy wet with white mold all over them. The coleslaw in a bag oh my that's disgusting. It's all wet turning yellow. You by the produce and you bring it home and I'm telling you within a day or two there's mold growing on it and there's no reason mold should be growing on this stuff. If it's fresh this is a disgusting store plus the manager gets an attitude when she has to help customers.

I called to cancel and was told I would have to wait 7 days for my credit card to be credited even though I never received my merchandise. I asked for a manager and she told me it would be the same answer because that was policy. This is not a very customer friendly store as for me I'll stick with Amazon, Tony's or Marianos.

They are inconsistent in their stock - often gaps appear where something is out of stock. They also don't make it easy to find items where there are special needs, such as finding gluten-free items. Where they do have them, they are not localized in one area like you would find in other stores. We went in for a specific gluten-free item and just couldn't find it. We asked someone who works there and they said they didn't know where it was - that it could be anywhere. Regardless, I am usually able to find most of what we need. The discounts they apply to Amazon Prime members really helps, too.

We noticed 4 notable differences from the Morton Grove store which has served our needs pretty well given the Prime membership discounts that we realize. The most important one, and one the wife noticed, is that the prices here are more competitive than in Morton Grove. We surmised that was just due to the presumably stiffer grocery competition in Schaumburg. A second difference is the produce department has more offerings. A third difference is they have a Krispy Kreme stand here for what that's worth. Finally, a fourth difference is the temperature in here is actually reasonable and comfortable as opposed to the usually frigid conditions in Morton Grove lol. Overall, a pretty nice Amazon Fresh, and thumbs up.
