H-Mart in Schaumburg is pretty good and well stocked every time we visit. The sales on products are decent and there's a huge variety for the little store that it is. When I went there was a lot of really nice savings on coffee, ramen, rice, sauces and dumplings! I see they have expanded their prepared ready to eat fresh made foods. Got all you H-Mart shoppers, they are saying the new big H-Mart (where the old Kohl's was on Golf Road) is set to open in November. I hope they'll have a good food court! read more

I have been to H-Marts in Lost Angeles, Rancho Cucamonga, Chicago, and San Diego. It is a great store, and since I moved from California to Chicago' Northwest Suburbs a year ago, I have been missing. H-Mart is a suburban haven of classic Korean and Asian food and ingredients. You know it's legit because most of the employees speak English as a second language, so they know the product. As an Asian myself, I'm happy that they have some Filipino staples here for my own cooking needs. Some of the unique items here are the fresh sashimi grade fish and other hard to find seafood, freshly made Korean panchan, and all the ingredients you need to make your own fresh kimchi. Another awesome feature are the "meals-to-go" that are inexpensive and ready to eat! They put those right by the registers so that you can't help but grab a few. The only downside to H-Mart is that the store is packed tight and the aisles are narrow, so it can be a challenge when the store is busy. H Mart is my go-to place for meats and fish to grill. The marinated pork and beef bulgogi are the best for home grilling. The flavors are so deep and authentic. I also love their seafood selection when it is fresh. The sirloin steaks have the perfect amount of marbling and tastes fabulous grilled or broiled. I also like having pre-cooked items, like Korean Chop Chae and their melt-in-your-mouth baked goods like chestnut or cream buns. There's a good variety of Asian snacks and candies as well as teas. And the boxes of their pears and other fruits are very shareable. The parking can get tricky on Saturdays and Sundays. read more

A very small footprint H-mart, so doesn't have all various brands of every Korean product, which is OK. People are willing to travel to Niles for THE super h-mart, but this location is nice if someone wants a few things. I like this Hmart, nice for a quick run or even for some essentials for the week. It's not as large as some other locations, but it's the perfect size for quick runs. The hot foods and baked items are always so delicious and fresh. I love coming to this location and restocking on my instant coffees, ice creams, or even to grab some side dishes or kimbap. Ambiance: The store is always super clean, tidy, and well organized. Service: The staff is always super kind, friendly, and welcoming. This is definitely one of my regular stores I visit. They are Korean based so many items will be from Korea. My favorite aisle is their snacks section. I'm always on the lookout for new snacks. If you haven't gotten turtle chips, I would highly recommend trying them out. They're a corn based snack that provides a sweet but savory crunch. read more

Really like this place for all my Asian food needs. It's Korean, so I'm not familiar with some of the items. I like the samples they have out on Saturday. The sample ladies don't speak the best English, but they are very kind. Prices here are better than the huge Fresh a International Market that opened up next to Target. But selection here isn't as vast. I like the deals for sweet potatoes, especially the purple Hawaiian Okinawa ones. They gave the best prices I've seen around this area. They have a good variety of seafood, meat, produce, frozen items and non-perishable items. They are not the biggest Asian store in the area however you should be able to find the majority of what you need. All the produce and meats always look fresh. read more

I'm used to the Naperville location where its all spread out. This location is very cramped. Extremely cramp. This store services a large demographic, but it's such a small store. I swear the Korean Market down the street is larger than this store but has 2x less foot traffic. If you're going down an aisle, you better hope you find what you need as you walk by because you don't have room to turn around and more than likely, there's someone right behind you so there's no room to back up. Also, the way they have the registers set up, in addition to the placement of food- it's a cluster when you want to get in line or if you want to just look at the food. Doesn't matter what you do, you're in someone's way... As for their products- I like picking up their marinaded Korean BBQ and some of their meat and poultry. Some I find reasonable in price, others I do not and will skip and buy elsewhere. I feel the same about their produce. I recently stopped in to pick up rice- there was a sale price on it, so I questioned them when I was rung up the regular price. I was told that the signs were for last week and they just haven't been taken yet. The cashier apologized but that was it... um, take down the damn signs. If they are left up- then that price should be honored- especially if you know that the signs should be taken down but just aren't. read more

The price are fair however the fruits and vegetables are double the price of supermarket i go to every day. Also this is the only place we found kobe meat! The meat that use for korean barbecue ohhh this place has those one of a kind marble meat! The space is so tight in each and every aisle so if youre going here make sure not a busy day because there will be no space. Not like ordinary Walmart has huge space apart. Nice selection of fish, meat, frozen goods, veggies, etc. My only complaints shopping there yesterday, was the store temp is like 28 deg, same as outside. This was my first time in an Hmart this particular location is smaller than I thought. They have a small produce section as well as a pretty decent meat area. They have a small area for liquor . However i did end up purchasing a few items. I went on a Saturday so it was pretty busy and a little overwhelming for a first time visit. This is an intermediate sized H Mart that has the usual good inventory of Korean grocery products and seafood.  It's intermediate to the large Niles and Naperville locations and the much smaller Northbrook location.  It also felt a little bit larger than the Chicago West Loop location, but there's no food court here (anymore anyway).  It's nice to have here for those in this part of Chicagoland or when passing through like us on this occasion. read more

Since this small Korean market has turned into a mini H-Mart I must say that it's cleaner, more organized, and the prices are a bit better. Thought I may be getting old but $17 for pre-marinated bulgoki seems like $7 more than it was a couple years ago. Oy. They have some special discount card now that you can add up points on that has to do with their H-Mart affiliation but I can't find anywhere on the website to get it. I've gone a couple times since the change and they ask if I have the card but don't offer to hook me up with one. Wah wah. Normally for my Korean shopping, I like to hit up the mega H-Mart or Assi in Niles but in a pinch nearby home, this H-Mart can now be relied on for what I need. Hubby and I were in the area. As the day has come to the end, we were discussing our dinner options at home. Since we have done a trip to our local Hispanic/Polish grocery store for fruit and vegetables, we needed some "carbohydrates" to complete the entire meal. I suggested the H-Mart nearby. The location wasn't too obvious to find. I remember it shared the same "plaza" with BuyBuy Baby. Hubby drove into the plaza but almost missed it, until we saw bags and bags of rice by the windows. H-Mart=Asian=Rice. How did this mathematical equation sound to you? I felt that this location is smaller than the one in Niles, IL, with one (1) automatic door serving as both entry and exit. I immediately found the udon, and turned around, Korean- and Japanese-style Instant noodles were waiting for me to pick them up. Ok, I guess I gave in. I grabbed one of the six (6)-pack Korean soup noodles that were on sale for the week and headed to the seafood department. Wow, I saw some fresh salmon fillets with reasonable prices. I looked above, did I see some live creatures seemingly moving? Well, while moving didn't appear too visible in my sight, I knew those sea cucumbers were alive...and perhaps not so well because they would soon be bought, consumed, and digested. We continued our journey inside of the H-Mart. After pre-mourning for those lives of sea cucumbers, I saw a bottle of corn silk tea on sale for $1.98. Corn silk tea is often served at a Korean restaurant. This tastes delicious, savory but not overly cloying, and can be drunk hot or chill. We also purchased some peas and Spinach. Before heading to the register, we had to dodge the seductions by the banchan and Kim-bops. We stood fast and fled the scene immediately after paying our $33-dollar damages. I always like H-Mart, but there's not one within the city of Chicago. They have a loyalty program, but I don't see the need to get on board since I am not a frequent customer unless H-Mart finds a piece of real estate close to my apartment. read more

Love live coming here... Have been here multiple ocassions and this place does not dissapoint... Mask are required upon entering, hand sanitizer is provided and gloves... Store is very organized, staff super helpful and help you find items trhoughout the store if you need help. Prices are reasonable, good selection of seafood, produce, meats and other products for mostly Korean cuisine... Everytime i come I am not disappointed... Upon checkout cashiers are friendly. Convenient location. While I prefer the Niles location in terms of vast selection, I can't remember a time where we had to go to Niles because Schaumburg's Hmart didn't have what we were looking for. We did find mangosteens once, one of my favorite fruits. But the quality was horrible. For $9.99/lb, almost $25 for a standard sized bag, most of them were inedible and bad quality. Best thing about H Mart is meat. They sells shaved and thin sliced beef and chicken which we use in many Japanese food menu. Their Korean style marinated beef is good for BBQ too. I normally shop at the one in Naperville. But last minute we needed some ingredients for our homemade Bulgogi Kimbap and this place is so much smaller and not clean at all. Yes there are fresh seafood available and for such a small place, the seafood smell is a little bit overwhelming. But the place is just not clean. They also don't have a big selection like the Naperville location. The workers are not so friendly and not really helpful. When asked, they act like they have no clue what you're saying. Not like I asked for something out of the ordinary, I asked if they had the pre-packaged marinated bulgogi meat? They do have ready made fresh food but I was just frustrated from the smell and the workers, that I just wanted to get the heck out of there. read more

This location of H Mart is definitely smaller than the other location I visited. It is clean and well-organized but when I was in the seafood section, the smell was really bad like really bad I think it is because of the seafood. The seafood they have are literally fresh but I just could not take the smell so even though I really wanted their fresh seafood I decided not o because I could not really take the bad smell. But aside from that scene in the seafood section, I just move on doing my groceries. This store really has the best selection when it comes to Asian products and they have a different variety from different countries including Chinese, Korean, Filipino and many more. The prices of their products are reasonable and rest assured that the products are in a good condition, quality and fresh. The staffs in here are also friendly and helpful with anything. read more

This little H mart is crowded but packed full of everything you need. It's amazing how much they were able to make this tiny store feel like a full size one. While a lot smaller than the full-size stores this one in particular had everything I was looking for. There's a lot more frozen items than the fresh version, but if you're in a pinch for some Korean staples around the house and are in the area, this is the place to swing by. I bought a lot of goodies specifically Korean goodies from this store. After I've been to a nice Korean restaurant, I super love the food and I wanted to try and cook it at home so I decided to go in this grocery store. They have wide selection of Korean foods and even seasonings that is exactly what I needed and what I also excited to try. The store is not really that big but it is wide, clean and everything is organized to the point that it is easy to know where is a specific product. Prices are also quite fair and reasonable but I must say that most products are quite expensive compared to the usual price I know to my usual go-to store. Produce and seafood section is fresh with good quality fruits, veggies and seafood. I always like shopping at Super H Mart because I get the fruit on sale, the vegetables for a good price and we got ourselves 10 lb back of brown rice for $9.99 how great is that? Niles H Mart is biggest one I know of outside of Chicagoland area. It's huge, food court and mini-shops. It has a " duk," shop and my kids like to eat Duk so fresh and tasty. I like the sale on meat, and frozen dumplings too. I get my soy sauce there and all the rest of my wonderful Korean and Japanese products I love so much. read more

I work near this place and go here every now and then for lunch. It is a well stocked Asian grocery store with a good selection of teas and prices are not bad. Inside also is a cosmetic store, video rental and 2 food vendors. One offers Korean dishes at moderate prices and next to it is a Sushi vendor serving nigiri and rolls.
