Today I placed a pick up order for 5 Ditas ribs, I checked no Substitutes because I only wanted the Ditkas Ribs. I was very deliberate in that. After on hour they texted me none in stock and were substituting another brand. I text back to cancel order. They text back no. I called to cancel and was told I would have to wait 7 days for my credit card to be credited even though I never received my merchandise. Why are they putting charges threw before merchandise delivered. Then she said I never checked no substitutions. I asked for a manager and she told me it would be the same answer because that was policy. This is not a very customer friendly store as for me I'll stick with Amazon, Tony's or Marianos. read more

This is the worse store in all of Jewel History. MULTIPLE complaints and corporate does not care. Look at the roast they sold me. I had to throw away the entire roast and my entire New Year's Day dinner was ruined. And BTW all the meat on the cases are old per the butcher. I've had multiple issues at this store, I don't shop regularly here because their prices are to high and the meat department is disgusting the fish department smells like rotten fish and the pharmacy is a total joke ,no customer service or common sense. I placed an order for a birthday cake for my 8-year-old, expecting it to be ready in 24 hours as I was not told otherwise. When I arrived to pick it up, I was told the cake wouldn't be ready and needed more than 24 hours. This was extremely disappointing--especially since my child's friends were already waiting for the celebration. What's worse is that no one reached out to inform me about the delay. If they had, I could've made other arrangements with another bakery. This lack of communication ruined a big part of our celebration, and I honestly expected better. After reading so many negative reviews on this place; I feel guilty for liking this location! All Jewel Oscos are the same to me, like this one. I always love their potato wedges at the deli and their chicken. Prices are totally out of hand! And sizes are shrinking! Rotisserie chicken is the size of a baby chicken, about the size of my hand. Discontinued so many popular items and sizes. Have you seen the Campbells soup aisle? Cut their section in half. Lately, I find myself going to Mariano's to get what I need. Maybe its the same at all the Jewels. Frustrating! I even had a cashier berate me because I said "Thank you" too may times" to him! And another who lied about a discount being on my order and it wasn't. Had to stand in the line at customer service to get that handled. Most of the associates seem "burned out", like they are really tired and not interested in answering your questions. Went to this store on the way to a friends. I was bringing fried chicken for dinner. The warmer was broke so they did not have a lot of stuff out. The employee went out of his way and cried us the potatoes we wanted for the side. What a great job it was appreciated. And when it was ready I got. A page over head to come pick it up. read more

I am Mercy's teenage daughter and since this is a neighboring store I go here to buy drinks and snacks with some of my pocket money. This store is expensive and the workers here are racist and clearly have nasty attitudes. I am a black teenager and I was followed around by an employee, a short old white lady to be specific with dark brown hair and a nasty attitude trying to accuse me of stealing nail polish because I was thinking of buying nail polish when I first entered the store then I decided I wanted to buy a drink instead so I put it down somewhere and put my phone in my purse. I just wanted to by a drink and the woman was trying to call the manager over and I tried to explain to them that Im just trying to buy a drink and I showed them where the nail polish was and that I put it down. I also showed them the money in my hand and told them what I was going to do but they wouldn't leave me alone. She kept going around disrupting other customers asking them if they had seen the manager "Joel" and creating a scene. This women started following me around the store and giving me dirty looks while tapping a walkie-talkie trying to call the manager and saying to herself "I know how these people are, thats how they are" Pretty much implying that I'm black and that we steal or some other stereotype. I started to feel uncomfortable so I bought my drink, informed the other staff of her behavior and left the store. This store needs to change their attitude towards customers and improve the quality of their products so they don't drive customers away with these kind of behaviors. Not only did this woman do this she also started gossiping to other employees trying to make me look like a thief. Because of her actions, I feel harrassed, insulted, disrespcted and embarrassed because I didn't do anything wrong so I won't be going to this store again. read more

Well, unfortunately I experienced another unpleasant experience with the meat department. More specifically with a particular employee. I just left a physical therapy session for an injured rotator cuff and stopped in to pick up a couple of things. The section where the prepackaged seasoned salmon is quite narrow. As I was going through the various packages this man runs up, totally ignores me and starts rearranging the packages of fish. He wasn't there to replace or remove any fish. He was taking things I was looking at while so close to me that in his ridiculous frenzy one bump of my shoulder would have taken me to the ground in pain. He acted as if I wasn't there. I said excuse me in a tone that clearly indicated my frustration. I said I am looking at this fish so why are you moving them around and why do you need to this when I am here? He got very snippy with me. I told him I have an injured shoulder and moving so quickly and so close to me could injure me. He made some wisecrack that things hurt him too. I told him that he was rude. Another employee of the store who saw the way he treated me suggested that I tell customer service. I did. But as it's a Union shop I don't expect much to be done. My auntie and uncle with my niece will visit us next week. So my mom  ordered me and my brother to shop here to buy some ingredients for the food that we will cook next week. My brother will be the driver. He parked it easily because there was a lot of vacant parking. As we enter, my brother grabs a cart and we go straight to the pasta selection. My brother has a list in his hand while pushing the cart while I grab the food that he said. After an hour we bought all the things we needed. We also buy chocolate for ourselves to eat while driving. We fell in line at the counter because one of the customers was ahead of us. After 10 minutes it's our time and the staff is nice while he is packaging our groceries. As we exit some cars blocking our car. So we ask the security who is the owner of it. After a minute the owner of the car apologized to us. We went home safe and secure. read more

Today was the third trip and 6th phone call. I special ordered 3 cases of 0 calorie Peach Snapple at 2 for $4.00. It was an amazing price and I live of the stuff. My caregiver went to pick p the special order last week and she came home with 2 single bottles. I wasn't happy, but that is what they had for me. I called and asked for the special order person and I spoke to Keith. He apologized and told me the order would be in this past Saturday. It wasn't and this morning I called Keith again. I went over this 3 week nightmare again and he, "Didn't like my tone." I explained this isn't that difficult, I've done this for over a decade now. I know 7-up owns Snapple, the order goes in on a Tuesday. 7-up comes twice a week. I sent the caregiver yet again and what she came home with was 24 loose bottles, not 3 cases again. It took 2 trips for her to get 24 loose bottles up to my 4th floor apartment. Why offer specials, have 0 products on the shelf and have to call and call, get an attitude of their screwup, not mine. I've been shopping at Jewel since 1966 and the attitude and rushed phone calls with the service department is not acceptable at Jewel prices. If this job is that bad and you don't want your Union Benefits and salary, QUIT! read more

This jewel is not the greatest. I'm always finding expired food here, especially in the dairy or produce aisle. Most of the employees are extremely rude. It's not so fun when you have to double check every single thing you buy. When I bought it up to the employee, he responded with a blank stare. On top of this, they treat their employees terribly. Mariano's salad selection in their Deli hasn't improved much since the day I wrote my review. This is one of a few reasons why I still support my local grocer, Jewel. I've mentioned in my review about salads at Harlem and Foster Jewel. I found a new favorite and I haven't been able to avoid ordering it or eating the entire container in one sitting: Greek Pasta, YUM! I always passby their ice cream cooler before I check out. Jewel seems to have Ben & Jerry's and Häagen Daz on sale for 2 for $7. Because of this, I cannot justify buying one for $4.57. I will wait to buy a few when they are on sale. That way, I save money, I don't gain weight or make a physician worry about my cholesterol and blood sugar levels. read more

This Jewel-Osco is literally the best place that I had ever been to! It is just perfect. I am really impressed and amazed with their service. All of their staff are working so fast and hard. They are really nice and they really care about their customers. They are always willing to assist and guide the customers. Outstanding service. This place is full of amazing items, all of their products here are very affordable, and everything you can see inside this place is worth buying. You can find anything here, all the things we need for our daily essentials, and even imported products that are so hard to find. Jewel-Osco is really a must-visit. If you are nearby this area you should stop in and give their items a try. This place never disappoints. But I suggest visiting here earlier as you can because the main problem with their place is the long lines and the crowd. Maybe because many people are really a fan of them and really love their place. That is why this place is always busy and most of the time it is crowded. But still, the place is amazing. I am looking forward to my next visit. I will definitely go here again when I have some free time. Thank you for giving me such an awesome experience and wonderful service! During my last stop to pick up a few odds and ends, I had rude interactions with three different departments. First I stopped at customer service to ask where to cash out a scratch off lotto ticket (I've never done so before), and they told me to go to the Osco counter. I asked for clarification on that and they just pointed and waved me off. I'd also like to add that I waited at the customer service desk for 15 minutes before anyone showed up behind the counter and waving me off. The only part of the store with an Osco sign is the pharmacy. When asking for help at the pharmacy, they belittled me for coming to the pharmacy department before sending me over to the photo department, who were also rude and short with me. I was planning to buy some groceries after cashing in my scratch off lotto ticket, but I decided to leave instead. I will never give this Jewel any of my money ever again. I love shopping here late at night its never to busy and the shelf's already seem to be stocked at midnight, my partner was on night crew in Seattle and the store was still packed as we had a lot of foot traffic in our neighborhood but I get off work around 11 so stop here on the way home and pick up, a couple items I am running short on it works great I love how wide the isles are and the fact that they have Mexi - Coke :) the produce section is well stocked and looks good also, just wish they had bulk spices :( read more

Such poor professionalism in a time like this!! The lines were long and the aisle next to me opened....however....the manager who opened it, wanted the cashier to correct a mistake for a customer on the other side of the belt. The manager shouted #2 open and the customer in front of me asked the cashier if shes open and she said yes. The customer in front of me had 2 items, i filled the belt. The manager comes over shouting at the cashier Aimee...telling her to void the sale...that she is supposed to take care of this mistake....this is not what she wanted...she wasnt supppsed to open the line.... (this mistake happened because none of thos costomers monopoly coupons registered so they has to do it all over. 50 items...1 coupon for each.....poss a job for customer service to avoid confusion???) The manager shouted at Aimee and was very quick to abandon her and let her deal with it all by herself. Aimee attempted to recify the situatiom but was flushed and she seemed very uncomfortable and had to remove her mask a few times to breathe better. Needless to say, even though the manager saw my items in the belt....she was apparently fine if I waited for 20 minutes, and made no recommendations to me as to how long this would take. What makes managers think that its ok to speak to employees this way??? I was shocked at how incredibly rude she was. Seriously suchna disappointment today. I think ill go elsewhere. read more

I don't usually write reviews but my experience shopping at Jewel is always so unpleasant that I have to. My favorite alcoholic beverage is the blue Seagrams Escapes but unfortunately those are pretty rare to find except jewel has them. I don't buy these often as I don't drink a lot, but every single time I come in here the cashiers are rude and make a big deal out of me buying alcohol. I'm 22 years old, I will buy a drink if I want one. It's not my fault that I look young. There have been numerous situations where I feel targeted. One time I came in and a man in front of me in line just handed over his single ID, next it was my turn and the lady asked me for TWO ID's. Then she asks me how old I am, umm you have my ID right in front of you. Another time, when I was carded twice I handed over my debit card and another lady told me I can't use a debit card as second ID even though I work in retail as well and we accept Debit cards as second ID although I'm not picky and I just ask for one. Finally tonight was the last straw though!! I worked 12 hours and have class tomorrow so I wanted to relax by watching a movie and enjoying a malt beverage. I go in the line and there was a customer in front of me having trouble with the chip reader etc, I waited patiently for a long time. Then, some guy comes out of nowhere demanding an exchange. The cashier finally gets to me and decides that while she is doing my transaction she should call a coworker for advice on the guy exchanging something (he wasn't even in line.) so she takes my two ID's and then asks my age while STARING. Are you kidding me. I'm going to just stop shopping here. I'm tired of being discriminated against because I look young. Y'all cashiers need to change your attitude, it's 2020, not 1920. Drinking is legal. I always feel like I'm being judged for my purchases. I'll just go support small businesses, they don't even bother me with carding me twice. read more

Wow! The customer service at this jewel compared to the other jewel in the area actually blew my mind!! How refreshing to be thanked for shopping and helped while looking around the store!! I was a little scared to come to jewel again after the other jewel and bad experiences there but I think this will be my new jewel! I like the food selection for my non speciality groceries and picking up everyday house items and the liquor selection is always great at jewel but the customer service at this one truly blew me out of the water! When I asked for her name and found it on her badge, she then proceeded to shout her last name and how to spell it in front of customers. She was rude and makes me not want to shop there again. This deli is slow to the point of ignorance. It took 25 minutes for us to get four items - nothing fancy, just run of the mill cold cuts. Went to the bakery to get a cake for my daughters birthday. I asked if they could write on it. The girl was quite rude to me and said the decorator had already left. It was like 5:30pm. I would think they would have a decorator on duty till they close the bakery at 8pm. And why aren't all of them capable of writing something on a cake? I complained about it at the service desk.
