Disgusting experience with these owners. Rude, unsmiling, curt, and after using them for a couple of years only because they're close by suddenly my husband's shirts were being given back to us with grey stains in various spots. I pointed them out and the incredibly curt and rude owner said they'll redo them. Didn't help. Stains were just in new spots. The old lady that had just started working there (a relative I believe) laughed saying it was husband getting old and so he's "sweating more and staining his shirts"!!!. YES she blamed him and actually said that. Lying, not taking responsibility for most likely dirty water and/or dirty iron presses, totally gaslighting me. Never returned there again, instead I now drive a little further to the really wonderful customer care at Joy Cleaners and guess what? Not a grey stain to be seen on my "old sweaty husband's" shirts! I had been a customer of a local dry cleaner for at least 35 years however I grew tired of one member of the owner's family constantly being difficult so I sought out another dry cleaner. I decided to try Park Avenue in Donelson and I will say that they have done a good job on all of my laundry, except one piece, but, I lived with it and moved on. Recently I noticed that I was being charged different prices for laundered shirts. Yesterday, I took two shirts, one at a time. Both were flannel and both were 100% cotton. What has been $4 was now $5 so I asked why and was first told that it was not cotton, only for the lady to check the label and see that it was 100% cotton. The end product is good but I do not like the feeling that I'll be charged whatever the feeling is at that time. read more

I am so upset with this place! I've been coming here for 7 years. Just in the last year, my shirts have been coming back damaged. The owner claims that either my shirts were old or that he saw them damaged before coming in and told someone to contact me. Lies!!! Even if that did not happen, why aren't there any comments on my ticket to pick up my clothing? Why didn't you actually call me?? He said the person who he told to call me is on vacation for 3 weeks. I really tried to support this local business but enough is enough. He didn't even offer to replace the damaged shirts. Came back in 3 days and it still wasn't ready. When I finally picked it up they did a great job, but think they might need a better internal communication system. I've been using this cleaners since their prices were $2.75 per piece--several years, and have been very happy with the quality of their work. I expected a price increase simply because of pandemic and supply chain issues. However when I took a bundle of clothing there in March and spent over $111, I was told dresses were one price. Less than 8 weeks later the starting price for the same dress increased $3 and they won't post their price list. It appears to me that when it comes to pricing they simply look under the counter and pick a number based on who is standing before them. Be aware!!!!! We're it not for the $3 increase for the same dress I would give them 5 stars. Feigning failed understanding of my observation left me feeling taken advantage of. I've brought my work clothes here a few times now and every time I get great results. Clothes look like new and the service is good. I washed a pair of dress pants and they had some spots on them that looked like detergent maybe. I brought them in to get cleaned and the stains were gone when i pixels them up. I think it has been a while since someone changed the title of this merchant, because it's actually $1.75 Cleaners and has been for quite some time. I'm pretty sure they are associated with the Park Avenue Cleaners in West Nashville....but I digress. $1.75....you get what you pay for...nothing more...nothing less. Do they get your clothes clean?.Yes. Do they always starch them properly? No. But what do you expect for $1.75? The first time I went I asked for light starch, because I hate stiff shirts (they kinda weird me out). Well, they went light all right....so light I couldn't even tell there was any starch. The next time I went, I asked for medium starch. I guess their version of medium is more like most cleaners' version of light. The only problem was that the collar and the cuffs were not crisp. The next time I went I asked for medium starch, but this time I asked them to heavily starch the collar and cuffs. This was perfect. It may take some trial and error with this place, but you can eventually get your clothes to come out like you like them. Plus, it's pretty hard to beat $1.75. Would I trust them with my tux, my best suit, or anything that couldn't be replaced? No. Anything else is fair game though. The only other negative thing is that the only form of payment they accept is checks. People still use checks? I guess this is how they get away with only charging $1.75. Last time I checked, credit card companies charge between 2 and 5% per transaction. I guess that adds up after a while. read more

Do not, i say do not leave your clothes at this cleaners. At least your nicer clothes! I dropped off a beautiful white tuxedo jacket to be cleaned, and they told me that it was damaged in the cleaning process...and they need time to work on fixing it. I attempted to pick up the jacket on three separate occasions and each time i was told "give us more time, we are working on it." When i went to pick it up most recently, they said "give us more time, we will call you tomorrow." They did not call "tomorrow," but they called several days after that and said that the garment is lost. So first it was damaged, and now it is lost. The owner "Steve" tells me that since it's been over 90 days, they are not responsible for lost items. It is not my fault that the jacket was there for over 90 days...since they refused to release it to me every time i attempted to pick it up. Now i see that i was played. He was running a game on me, and trying to "run the clock" so that they would not be responsible due to their "policy." I am a former employee of Newschannel 5...and not the one to mess with. I have been going here a few times its close to my house. I didn't have high expectations as you get what you pay for. I brought my husbands dress shirts before i leave i always check each shirt carefully to make sure everything was good. Until recently as i was double checking i noticed 2 shirts had cracked buttons. Which is not a big deal accidents happen as they put them on machines and stuff. What was shocking and disappointing is the customer service or the lack of it. The way this situation was handled not sorry from the owner once. One gentleman working there even went on to tell me that it's actually fine... no i don't think its fine to have a hugo boss dress shirt with cracked buttons. After they had them fixed took their time never called once i had to make multiple trips. I came to get them and they did a terrible job replacing buttons didn't match there was thread hanging out they didn't replace all of them even. It was really shocking. I will not be returning here as the owner does not care about customers. read more

I think it's been a while since somebody has updated this. The base dry cleaning price is now $2.99, which is still cheap. The quality is still good enough, and the turnout rate is around one to two days. I was in a pinch and was able to get my suit back the next day. They've also shortened their hours on Saturdays. Now it's apparently 8-5 instead of 7-7, which is a little inconvenient. read more

After using this cleaners for years, I had the worst experience of my life at this cleaners yesterday ( March 14, 2017). I had a beautiful white suit which this cleaners ruined and refused to take responsibility for. I had his receipt with notes in the owners handwriting in a language other than English. I tried on the jacket to show him that the jacket which previously had fit now came half-way up my arms. He had some kind of explanation that the polyester lining did not draw up, therefore the wool suit was fine. It was not fine. I left with no compensation for a practically new suit that I will never be able to wear again. read more

The guys that work the counter are always so polite and my clothes are always ready within 1-2 days. Unless you are trying to clean a very expensive item this place is perfect for your general wardrobe. I highly recommend! After moving downtown and finding out the crazy prices to clean garments in downtown ($36 for 3 dresses!) I drove all the way to Donelson just to take my stuff here. $6 for 3 dresses...YES! DISHONEST PLACE OF BUSINESS and not american owned because the owner did not speak English or so they say not well enought to talk to a customer that was not satisfied. I took my blouse in there Friday the 24th. It was a nice blue linen nothing fancy. When my mother in law got it today it had bleach stains all over it. They told her that the did not notice it when they took it but then they noticed it was that way after she had left? This is not truth. They kept on like they really saw this and I have never seen anything like this before. On top of it the owner we was there and quickly went to the back when she told them it was not that way and why did they not call here when they said they noticed that when she left. Then when I called to talk to the owner he all of a sudden does not speak English well enough and the worker Cody insisted that he did not noticed but later was shown it was this way?? It is not an expensive blouse and I can for sure live without it when I think of all the people that have worse things in life. The point of this is they are dishonest. She was asking a reasonable 30.00 I will be contacting the better business buero as well and posting is on my facebook page to make sure everyone I know does not use a place that is dishonest. The sad thing is my mother in law has been using them for a while so it was not like she was a new customer. My advice take your cleaning to a place that is honest. These days we have alot of choices and this one is no longer going to be mine. Things come back around on businesses that are this way and they must be having financial issues to go to this extreme over a 30.00 shirt so maybe it is catching up with them. MY ADVICE do you want to take a chance on your clothes. You may only pay 1.75 instead of 4.75 but then your one favorite shirt is gone and they will just lie and say you brought it in that way and it is your word against there. My fiancé has been taking his suits and dress shirts to this cleaner for months. Since they seemed to be doing well with his stuff, I decided to let them clean my $200 North Face down coat. My fiancé picked it up (a week later bc that's how long it took them to clean it) and when I took the plastic off the following morning to wear it, I discovered the down feathers inside the coat were clumped in balls in each sewed section of the coat. The faux fur that was on the hood appeared to have been melted. My fiancé took it back for me bc he drives by on his way to work. They agreed to rewash my coat stating they thought some of the chemical had been left on it and that's why it appeared the way it did. Again about a week later he picks it up and is told the fur on the hood is not repairable as it did in fact get to hot. He was offered store credit and left with my (now not so expensive) coat. Naturally I was not happy with store credit so I took it back up there myself to speak to the manager. I very nicely explained to him I wanted my coat fixed the way it was when I dropped it off or I wanted it replaced. I showed him photos of me wearing the coat with the very fluffy fur so he would know it wasn't melted when I dropped it off. I also showed him the coat online with the price tag of $199.99. After about 5 min of silence he told me to leave the coat and he would call me. He never called, I had to call and speak with the very nice young gentlemen that work at the front desk. It became apparent fast that he had no intention of doing anything about it. After not having my coat for another 2 weeks I went back up there. The manager was there, I told him I wanted my coat and he would no longer get the $40-$80/month from my fiancé he had been the past 6 months. He never said one word to me and watched me walk out the door. This is not the way to treat good dependable customers. I'm very disappointed and sad that my favorite coat will never be the same.
