Very clean and good service. Ordered an egg sandwich but the eggs are not made to order they are heated up. That required less of a grade from me. The bagels are pretty good and outstanding for being outside of NYC. Would go back again but might stick to cream cheese. So I went with the cream cheese this time around. Oddly they put wax paper in-between the bagel slices. Also they do not put the finished product in a bag to carry out. I prefer small hometown places. I'm in Potsdam 2-3 times a year and always stop in for a bag of fresh roasted coffee beans and a maple latte. If I'm there long enough, I stop in every 3 or 4 days and one last time before heading out for a latte for the road and a bag of beans for the freezer at home in Atlanta. It's a ritual. If there's enough of us staying a few days, I also pick up a bag of assorted bagels. The cinnamon ones are my personal favorites. The atmosphere of the newly remodeled Park Bros (aka The Bagelry) is sparse but welcoming. A great space to hang out in, study and/or get a tasty breakfast or lunch. The location is easy to find and parking is usually available somewhere within a reasonable walk. The quality of the coffee is world's better than you'd find at a chain and bagels are just what you expect from a true NY bagel shop. read more

The Bagelry is a local favorite in the North Country. With locations in both Potsdam & Canton, NY, The Bagelry is a place where both hungover college students & locals alike can enjoy a meal for a reasonable price. Personally, I love the homemade cream cheeses. They offer several flavors, including original, veggie, strawberry, & northern delight. These spreads are complimented nicely by the sesame seed bagel in my opinion. In terms of sandwich meats & other combinations, the plain bagel is my go to. I recommend the turkey club on a plain bagel, but eat it fast because sometimes the toasted bagel can harden quickly...especially if you are picking something up to bring back to campus. Also, beware of the wobbly tables at the Potsdam location! The Canton location is renovated and truly a nice place to eat. Often times, my friends and I make the trip 10 minutes down the road just to eat at the Canton location if we have time to kill. Although I have some trouble with the food, the food is always much and falls off the bagel, there was this time where me and my family ordered, I believe I got a buffalo chicken one. I am obsessed with their chicken salad on a bagel. I have NEVER had a bad exerience! The ONLY time that someone messed up my order, It was immediatly corrected and they gave me an extra pickle for my troubles (another obsession, there are few who understand) I was really shocked by the negative reveiws (shocked enough to write my own reveiw, for the first time actually.) I can't beleive that individuals are utilizing YELP of all places to air their anti-religion bigotry. I am NOT religious, however I do pride myself on being a good person. Only Bagel place I have ever seen that delivers. Its small has a limited menu. But, really its outstanding note is its bagels which are pretty good. They are not NYC quality. But, your in the North Country of Northern NY. And this is about as good as Bagels can get out here. Whether you get a sandwich or some smoked Salmon on your bagel - food is pretty good here. This place is in downtown Potsdam, accessible to the students of Clarkson and Potsdam State. While it has decent prices--$5 for a specialty bagel sandwich, $3+ for breakfast sandwiches--the bagel sandwiches are a little lacking. Plain, however, they have good bagels, excellent cream cheese, other tasty baked goods; however, when branching out to the realm of sandwiches, there is something lacking. It might be just salt. I'm not sure. If you're going here, make sure you get a bagel with cream cheese. It's their best thing. Be warned, however, the specialty bagel sandwiches might be a less gratifying experience, depending on the type. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and they are open late when college is in session. It's convenient and generally good. They get three stars because it's difficult to compare them with my other four star places; I go to the Bagelry ever once in a while, but not as often as my four and five star places. read more

If I could give a 0 star review I would. I'm originally from Potsdam and had to come back into town due to a family death. I brought my kids to the baglery so they could see a little part of where I grew up. I was astounded. Slow service, young kids running the place and goofing off, orders going out in the wrong order. We waited 30 minutes for 4 bagels. And watched the 6 people who ordered behind us get their bagels. And to top it all off, there were flies on our pickles. Looks like the baglery I knew is gone. As a Northern New Yorker and native of New York City, the bagels from the Baglery taste almost like the ones back in the Big Apple. They're not perfect, but they come close. A tip is to grab the "day-olds" which are mixed but are still good. If it weren't for they'd go bad by the time I'd eat them, I'd buy two bags of the "day-olds". read more

I live in Potsdam and frequent the Bagelry. It's a little slower and more expensive than than a fast food option like Dunkin Donuts, but it is notably superior in quality and heartiness. There are a number of sandwich options, but my favorites are the Brooklyn, the Century, and the Dagz Baby. And, of course, I almost always grab a coffee! read more

Their prices are good but their bagels are awful and are never fresh. I've gone there at 8 in the morning expecting hot, freshly made bagels but they were just as room temperature as they are at 3am. My advice would be to stop trying to emulate the NY bagel considering NYC is a solid seven hours away and take a shot at recreating the Montreal style bagel. read more
