    Iced matcha and bagel sandwich

The person taking our order was super patient even though we had a large order. My matcha was one of the best ones I've had and I really loved that my bagel sandwich was a combination of buffalo chicken and chicken bacon ranch. Our food did not take long at all either!

NY maple latte and coffee beans

I prefer small hometown places. I'm in Potsdam 2-3 times a year and always stop in for a bag of fresh roasted coffee beans and a maple latte. If I'm there long enough, I stop in every 3 or 4 days and one last time before heading out for a latte for the road and a bag of beans for the freezer at home in Atlanta. It's a ritual. If there's enough of us staying a few days, I also pick up a bag of assorted bagels. The cinnamon ones are my personal favorites. The atmosphere of the newly remodeled Park Bros (aka The Bagelry) is sparse but welcoming. A great space to hang out in, study and/or get a tasty breakfast or lunch. The location is easy to find and parking is usually available somewhere within a reasonable walk. The quality of the coffee is world's better than you'd find at a chain and bagels are just what you expect from a true NY bagel shop.

Best bagels in the North Country. The new interior is finished and looks fantastic. Elliots legacy lives on and keeps getting better

    The Bagelry. Canton, NY Location.

The Bagelry is a local favorite in the North Country. From a late night craving on a weekend to a casual lunch or dinner with friends on a weeknight, this place offers a wide variety of bagels & spreads that satisfies any craving. With locations in both Potsdam & Canton, NY, The Bagelry is a place where both hungover college students & locals alike can enjoy a meal for a reasonable price. Personally, I love the homemade cream cheeses. They offer several flavors, including original, veggie, strawberry, & northern delight. These spreads are complimented nicely by the sesame seed bagel in my opinion. In terms of sandwich meats & other combinations, the plain bagel is my go to. I recommend the turkey club on a plain bagel, but eat it fast because sometimes the toasted bagel can harden quickly...especially if you are picking something up to bring back to campus. Also, beware of the wobbly tables at the Potsdam location! The Canton location is renovated and truly a nice place to eat. Often times, my friends and I make the trip 10 minutes down the road just to eat at the Canton location if we have time to kill. Still, both locations have a lot to offer & have made my college experience in the North Country memorable...wow. Now I am really craving it. Check this place out!

    No egg came with egg

I ordered a ham and cheese and specifically asked for no egg, cashier repeated no egg. I can't eat egg. Get sandwich and go to work. Get to office and egg! Have to toss. Called to get refund and I have to go back to the store to get refund, which I can't because I'm already at work. Not a great experience

This was perfect location wise just being a short distance from our hotel. Getting into the area early Saturday morning meant tons of street parking so that was no issue. Stepping inside they have plenty of seating and I can imagine it would be a perfect spot to study for college classes for the students. The space was open and felt inviting. Service was friendly and quick with no issues. One worker taking care of drinks while another worked on the food with the one more free taking orders. They have most of what you would expect a coffee spot to have drink wise for both coffee and teas with seasonal and special flavors too. Food wise they have loads of breakfast and lunch bagel sandwich options with a good variety of bagel flavors to change it up as well. Drink wise my wife got their pumpkin latte seasonal and loved it, while I got the Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte that was solid once mixed a little more. Food wise we both liked the sound of their Lumberjack that came with two eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, and a maple syrup drizzle. We differed on our bagel choice with my wife picking cinnamon raisin and I chose cinnamon French toast. Both bagels were delicious and well made and the sandwiches were tasty just would likely ask for either lighter maple syrup or none next time. Made quite a mess and made it a bit too sweet but no real complaints. We were happy to try this spot out and would be a spot we would frequent if we were local! Good drinks and tasty bagels with really endless choices for sandwiches when you consider all the bagel choices. If you want a bagel meal if you are in the area check this place out!

My favorite in the world (for context, I was in NYC just a few weeks ago where I tried several from popular places). The sesame bagels here are slightly sweet on the outside with a rich, umami roasted sesame flavor from the seeds and wood firing. I recommend buying a tub of cream cheese or whatever other supplies you'd like from the cooler to make your own sandwich or to dip your bagel. Of course, they're great on their own, but a little chive cream cheese really brings it to the next level. I always stock up during each trip to Montreal and bring some to friends and family back home and everyone always looks forward to that!

Well, I had to find out for myself. The two bagels are very different. I may sound bias but the New York bagel is definitely better. That's not to say I didn't like the Montreal bagel, they're just not the same. The Montreal bagel tastes almost denser. We had the spicy everything bagel which is a first for me and a sesame bagel. Again, good. But I come from the home of bagels so it wasn't anything for me to write home about.

No. But there are so, so many terrible, inedible bagels out there that this is still a five star bagel place. Basically the only place I've ever gotten good bagels has been in the Hudson Valley, NY and great bagels in NYC. Even bagels from Montreal were universally lambasted by a friend group who was up visiting a few years ago. I went to Kettleman's on a snowy evening before an Ottawa 67s game, and it was solid. Chewy poppy bagel with a little crisp, nice cream cheese and a soda. Doesn't get better than that. Service was good, though perhaps a bit slow to smear some cream cheese on a bagel, about 5 minutes by my estimate. Tables and restrooms were clean and place was warm despite the cold outside.

The bagels themselves were fine, but the cream cheese wasn't my favourite it was pretty runny and didn't have that thick, creamy texture I'm used to. Also, they pack everything in a paper bag, so it's not the same as getting bagels in a plastic bag to keep them fresh, like you would at spots back in Montreal. Overall, it's okay to try if you're curious, but personally I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. Montreal bagels still win for me.
