My dishwasher stopped working in the middle of the afternoon last Monday. I then tried holding the power button to see if it would come back, yet it still wouldn't work. I called maintenance to notify them about what was going on, I also notified the maintenance team of Ernesto and Jose that I would not be home as well. I was comfortable with letting them into my home. When I arrived home Ernesto and Jose were finishing up the job which then my dishwasher was fixed. On New Year's Day our dishwasher was left with two inches of water after it finished its cycle. We filed a service request in the tenant portal and then spoke to the manager the next day. Although the staff was very busy following the holidays, they still managed to resolve our problem before the end of the week. They drained the water, dismantled the machine, snaked a pipe, put it all back together, and successfully tested it in less than an hour. The technicians took the trouble to put on plastic shoe coverings before entering our unit, they were friendly and professional, and they had a good attitude throughout the process. read more

This place used to be a very nice place to live when it was managed by Greystar. Subsequently when it was sold, the quality of residents has declined and so has upkeep of the grounds. Steep rent increases has made Park Central one of the worst places to live in Concord. Loud, arguing neighbors, frat-like parties in the middle of the night - I would not recommend this place to anybody unless they were absolutely desperate for a place to live. read more

Lived here for two years. This place is for you if you enjoy the following: - Being ignored by management and leasing staff after repeated phone calls and emails to the office. - When you do manage to get ahold of someone in management, it's always a different person every time (we went through three different management changes during our residency). - Uncoordinated maintenance service (I was told by management staff when maintenance failed to show up more than an hour after my service appointment and was asked by management to call the maintenance team to make sure they're still coming. As if it's my job to make sure the people you work with do their job) - Homeless people across the street and crackheads standing in the middle of the street. Dealing with transients that come from the Bart station nearby. - Cars smashing up and down the road with loud music - Fireworks getting blown up every night with the park that's just down the block behind the complex. - Deliveries being left outside the complex allowing for it to become easily stolen, outside the mailroom, brought into the mailroom but not properly checked in (so you don't end up getting a code to unlock the mailroom door) and the mailroom being an absolute mess on some days. They barely do an audit to make sure tenants are picking their packages up. - Having your mailbox broken into and your mail stolen - Having your car broken into a gated garage in broad daylight - Having no sense of security in any part of the complex (no cameras in compromised areas OR the garage, gates always left slightly open for anyone to get in. The security that's supposedly on sight during some parts of the day only show up when you call them during an active emergency) - Having your assigned parking spot taken by a complete stranger, and the only thing management does is send an email out to tenants to inform them of the issue and to make sure whoever owns the car to move it (like this really does anything especially if the car belongs to someone who isn't a tenant), even after you've reported the same car parking in your stall multiple times. They will never tow it. - If you have pets, this area has a flea problem. My dog of 10 years never once had an issue with fleas her whole life, up until we moved to Park Central where she ended up having a case so severe that it impacted her health, and she eventually passed away because of her complications. I cannot recommend Park Central Concord enough if you want to feel underappreciated and insecure. If you want to live in terrible conditions while paying a premium (for a terrible area of Concord, right across the street from the police department) this is the place for you! read more

I am a new resident having just moved in to Park Central in Concord in mid- May. I have lived in several apartment communities in many states and had the experience of dealing with as many apartment personnel over the years. I want to express my authentic gratitude for both Jesse and Dee who have, on many occasions, displayed professionalism, kindness , and, at times, gone above and beyond what I am sure is expected of them as property managers here at Park Central. Dee Kohlman, from the start of my experience, was truly one of the reasons I chose to live here. She was knowledgeable, patient with my questions, upfront about any concerns I had and her calm nature - without being too pushy or like a "salesperson" was simply wonderful. She took the time to even allow my sister to come take a "walk through of my apartment a few days after I signed a lease even though she had a busy schedule. After I moved in, my parking space was a little difficult for me to get in and out of. I called Dee and she immediately contacted me and not only gave me one option, but two alternative spaces. She followed up with me and made sure that I had a parking space that was acceptable for me. Instead of just assigning me a new space, she went out of her way to ask what "my concerns were" and to find a right fit for my parking issues. She went above and beyond what I expected. Jesse has also been nothing but courteous, friendly and adds a personal touch to his conversations when I have been in the leasing office. One particular incident stands out that I believe you should know about. I had had a very long day at my work as a teacher. I came home and inadvertently threw my car and apartment keys into the trash shoot along with some garbage that I was tossing away as I was coming home. I stood in front of the trash shoot in disbelief in the 3rd floor of the parking garage. It was after hours, I am new to the complex, and I had no idea what to do. I anxiously walked down to the 1st floor almost in tears. Who did I run into? Jesse. He looked as if he was just leaving work for the day. I hesitated to ask him to help, but I was desperate. I asked him if he knew where the 3rd floor trash shoot "led to" and xplained what had happened. He immediately put down his personal items ( lunch bag, computer bag) and led me to the large dumpster where he believed my keys would have landed. I expected him to say, "Here it is. Your keys would be in here," and then basically wish me luck. However, he then proceeded to help me find a long piece of wood and he dug through a few bags until we had sight of the keys! He carefully pulled them up with the wood and I was able to grab them. All was well with my world. I can't tell you how grateful I was. He absolutely did not have to help me. But, he did. Thank you to both Dee and Jesse. They are both true examples of the importance of kindness and simply doing the right thing! read more

Update: We've been transferred to the top floor, and it's a totally different story now. I stick to my words: if either 1) your upstairs neighbors are considerate, 2) you're on the top floor, or 3) you're just insensitive to noises, then PC is definitely among the best options in Concord. The staff is great. Jesse is always helpful. The maintenance team is great. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the occasional smell of weed at night. Some jerks just cannot read "non-smoking area". I've seen two ladies smoking at the pool but that was a while ago. Now they've learned not to do it in public so it's hard to point out the exact apartment. Anyway, it's not Park Central's fault per se. read more

PSA POOL IS NOT HEATED- IT'S BEAUTIFUL BUT RARELY USABLE. This review is specifically about the enticing but unusable pool amentity, which was promoted to me prior to my signing my lease. I was told the pool is heated to "..around 80 degrees". That was over 3 years ago. I worked in another State remotely during Covid and upon return found the pool to be freezing- all year round. I recently doubted myself, when on an 80 degree day I still found it too unconfortable to go swimming. But I confirmed it was not heated with a thermometer and when I asked the management about it, this is the response I received, "Unfortunately at this time we do not have any plans to heat the pool in the near future, which is why do not advertise having a heated pool. Thankfully as the weather gets warmer the temperature in the pool will also increase as well." Bottom Line- Don't let this amenity factor into your decision to rent here. OTHERWISE. I see reviews on here claiming "roaches" are in the complex. I for one have never seen a bug of any type here (in 4 years) and so I seriously doubt the validity of those claims. Also, I've received prompt and courteous responses to my requests for repairs. I think the organization is, like many struggling to make this place live up to the "luxury apartment" hype, given financial stress and strain all companies are feeling, i.e. everything is not polished and that inviting beautiful pool is useless to me- I have to pay to go to Walnut Creek's Clarke Swim Center for low impact exercise. read more

Do not move here!! The units are nice inside, but a new leasing manager was appointed earlier this year and since then the crime has increased, there is no/poor communication, and no show maintenance appointments. In addition, the same residents are in violation of the lease (i.e., breaking into the gym when closed) and nothing is done. It's also a nightmare trying to get packages. I've lived here 2 years and thought it was a nice community before, but it has tanked since early this year. read more

Park Central is a wonderful place to live. The location is great; walking distance to BART and bars and restaurants at Totos Santos Plaza. The amenities, especially the pool, are clean and nice. The staff was amazing while we lived here. The maintenance crew was always quick to respond to any issues we had and even would stop by a couple days after to make sure everything was still taken care of. The leasing office is very helpful and friendly. We had some issues when we first moved in and everyone was more then happy to do whatever needed to be done to iron everything out. We only moved out because my husbands job transferred us back to Southern California or else we would have stayed longer. It's a very quiet and fun community. read more

I'm new to the Bay Area, had no idea where to live or what I was doing. Jesse Planos along with the rest of the staff made my transition from north Idaho, painless. As with any location there have been some minor issues; what separates these folks from the rest is they honestly care and work tirelessly to resolve any issues reported. I've lived here for about 5-6 months and still have half of my contract to fulfill. I really enjoy the safe environment it gives you. I have a decently expensive car and I am parked right next to the garage exit on the bottom floor. Not to jinx anything but I haven't gotten any signs of robbery or an unsafe parking lot. The garage is 5 stories, well secured, yet very small in space since i'm squeezed between a wall and a full sized truck. That essence is a slight turn off from this beautiful place. I pay $75 every month to get a "compact" space and the spaces that aren't compact usually are never filled. For 5-6 months i've seen empty spaces which my fiancé or myself that we could've easily got and we asked about it only to be shot down and to pick between other "compact" spaces. The unit itself is great! Of course the paint is extremely cheap because once you get glass bowls, plates, or anything in the cabinets it sticks with the china. Even when it is extremely dry. The package room is definitely sketchy at first but it really isn't, just very unorganized. The pool is beautiful, the gym has the basic equipment you'd need for your daily workout. The neighbors seem very friendly. I had a nice time with an old employee to guide us in leasing this place. So if you're still reading this and you want a first apartment or somewhere safe this is the place. There are some minor flaws that you would have to talk to the management if it's not towards your appeal of course. A little pricey for the paint circumstance and the parking situation but we love everything else! read more

Very comfortable place to live. The amenities are great and well maintained. Jesse treats the residents like family and overall it is very quiet in the apartment. Parking structure is convenient and Bart is only a 5 minute walk away. I really enjoyed living here and never had any complaints with any neighbors. The walls are either definitely not thin, or people just didn't make any noise. Our apartment despite being 605 square feet felt rather spacious though I might recommend going with 700 or more if there are two people and can afford it. Besides that, it was quite difficult to move in and out if you're not on the 1st floor but that comes with any apartment building I suppose. read more

Firstly, I appreciate that their office was open on a Sunday. I came in with my elderly father but was looking for an apartment just for me. And this day it was very busy. Prospective tenants and current tenants ebbing and flowing into the office. Secondly, Dee was amazing. In spite of it being busy that day, She professionally and efficiently multi-tasked helping me and another tenant and still find time to make my father feel welcome. She was attentive, courteous and helpful in finding the right apartment for me. The grounds, the apartments, the pool, the parking and many other things were fantastic.
