deli has become my go to deli! staff is friendly and always ready to help with suggestions. the food is always fresh and tasty. it is also vegetarian diet friendly. They have a menu curated for vegetarian which was something unique from other delis i've been to. The vegetarian options are tasty too and open to customized orders with everything. We like VP because it's always quick and the bread is always fresh. It's the perfect place to go with a small group of coworkers during lunch hour. There is always seating available for us and there is something on the menu to satisfy everyone. They have a rotation of specials and soups for the day and a great chip and drink selection. They don't waste any time getting you your food..we typically place our orders, grab our drinks and chips and just take a seat. They have no problem letting us pay after so that there is no backup at the counter when they're trying to make orders and run the food. VP is no frills but everyone needs a reliable and quick deli in their lunch rotation. Go check it out. read more

This is just a great place overall, friendly service all the time, good food and good people. All you could ask for in a local deli, the hot sandwiches and cold sandwiches are equally delicious...I would suggest a "chicken cutlet sloppy on a hero" and the "Spicy Thai Chicken Soup" if you want to leave feeling full. Best kept secret as far as I'm concerned. "Fresh food done right" is their tag line, and it couldn't be more accurate. Today I had their Sloppy Corned Beef on Rye with slaw and Russian dressing and it was the freshest, most straight up delicious sandwich I've had in months in the area. Seriously. There's no excuse for you not to check this deli out if you work at Raritan Center or in the vicinity. Just hit them up before 3pm on weekdays--otherwise they'll be closed and you'll be regretful and in despair until they open up again. read more

Everything here is superb. If you're in Raritan Center, this is the place to get lunch or breakfast. They deliver as well. Usually, I'll have my breakfast delivered. They give sizable portions. For lunch, I'll stop by and get take-out. I sat in the deli only a couple of times. The only disappointing thing about this place is that they aren't open after 3pm. Mediocre at best. Sandwiches are very meh. Nothing really stands out. One big turn off though is how they throw pickles on your plate and the juices run onto your bread giving it a gross vinegary taste. I also got the runs really bad from this place. Nothing really to write home about. read more

Where do I start ? This place is phenomenal! I found out about this place after a co-worker brought me here for lunch and I order my lunch from VP at least twice a week. Everything on the menu is delicious and all the employees are very nice. It's nice to walk in and have them greet me by my name and make me feel like family. Went here for first time because was in the area for work. What is good about this place is not paying $12+ for a deli sandwich that is enormous and too much food. Their pastrami sandwich was $6.50 and just enough for a lunch meal and was pretty tasty. Their customer service seemed outstanding even though they were slammed for lunch. Very polite and customer service oriented which is always nice. They bring the sandwiches to your table (did take a little bit of time to get them but that is because they were so busy). Wouldn't mind going back and trying some of their other sandwiches hot or cold. read more
