2nd time I have been here bc it's on the way to the train station. But I would say that this is one of the saddest delis I have ever seen. This place needs a facelift and better food. You walk and it's dated, dark and half empty. Flickerring lights is never a good sign. In two occasions I have ordered hero sandwich's and both times they left out ingredients that I asked them to add to the order. But more importantly, the bread was dry and the amount of ingredients they put in the hero is so sad. Barely nothing and just super cheap. I will never be back and I would sincerely avoid for anyone. I have been going to Park Deli for over 20 years and I can say I have never been disappointed. My mother in law lived with me for 12 years before she passed at 88. Park deli was my go to when my wife went out and I was in charge of dinner. I would get a dinner there and we would split it and both of us enjoyed it and were totally full. It was the worst panini I have ever eaten. The worker there did not even know the ingredients that were put on it, so he kept checking the sign to figure out what was on it. Moreover, he said they didn't have a cherry pepper so asked me if they could put jalapeno on it instead, to which I said okay. When I finally got it, it was dripping with pepperoni juice, the posted ingredients were barely inside, and I could barely taste the mozzarella cheese I requested. The flatbread was not toasted properly, and it was all soggy. The macaroni salad was kinda tasteless with a minimum amount of mayo. The small pack of orange juice was nearly $4. The whole order came out to nearly $20, which was not a cheap deal. I was looking for a sandwich shop along the Jericho Tpke, and it looks like I have to keep looking. read more

Been here twice in a week, and the prepared food was different each time. Checked their menu, and realized each weekday has a different lunch/dinner specials. First time I got chicken francais (believe that's the name) with mashed potatoes, and the most recent time I got chicken parm with rice. Delicious each time! And the employee asked if I'd like extra sauce poured over each dish. Overall a good selection of food as well as coffee and snacks on the counters and shelves. The employees are friendly, and the deli itself has a nice small business feel to it. I am happy to support Park Delicatessen, and will certainly be back. read more

Having read other reviews I agree the prices are higher than other places in the general area and sometimes the prices are inconsistent, but the food is pretty good. In general I think people don't mind paying a little bit more as long as the food is good.. As I mentioned earlier before the food is pretty good and quite tasty to boot! What people do mind however is poor customer service, or in this case "disenchanted employees" The guys and gals that work here give me the feeling or impression that they really don't want to be here and if they do, they don't show it. I was in the area and wanted something to eat and saw this deli as I was driving. I stopped because I saw a parking spot available right in front. The deli was very clean and the staff appeared very friendly. I liked that they knew some of their "regulars" and small talked with them. The deli was busy and I noticed they do a lot of phone orderies and deliveries because I saw separate staff handling those huge orders. Boy was I happy I stopped, this deli was amazing with so many sandwich and salad options. Come prepared with $$ because it is bit expensive. The staff were on point working fast to assist the customers. I asked for more time to peruse all the options and try to figure out what I wanted because there were multiple choices I liked. I finally decided on the chicken cutlet delight sandwich which was a chicken cutlet, mozzarella, onion rings and brown gravy on a garlic hero or roll. I was hesitant about having the gravy but decided to try it as is. When I got home I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious all the ingredients worked well together. I loved that the bread was fresh and not soggy and the sandwich didnt fall apart. I will defintely return to check out some of other sandwiches and salads. read more

Great deli. After reading Ginnis's review, I popped over for lunch and was pretty happy with their offerings. The place is of decent size to hold a considerable rush of people and the 5 deli guys were moving t top speed to take care of all the orders as well as the stuff that was being sent our for delivery. Between all the specials listed and the run of the mill deli goods there were enough items that it made it hard to make a decision. Settling on what I wanted it was also a little hard to get the actual order in as there is no particular rhyme or reason to who is next etc. - it's every man for himself in effect. I get my breakfast at Park 2-4 times a week. Man if you haven't tried their basic sausage egg sandwich; it is to die for. I always order the sandwich with the special Portuguese roll which is incredible with provolone and tomato. They give you two huge pieces of sausage patties. The guys know each and every customer and I never have to ask. They know you; they want to please each customer and it is enough for breakfast and lunch and it is affordable. Park Deli is a SCAM !!!!!!! Be Careful when you go into this Deli, the price on the sticker does NOT match the price at the register! I ordered 3 BLT's for $7.00 each (rip-off) And they charged me $28.60 ?! When i went back to complain the guy at the counter scanned the 3 -$7 tickets in front of me and again the total added up to $28.60!!!!! ......This means, it was NOT a mistake. IT'S A S C A M. Really amazing deli. Everything I have had here, from the sandwiches, to salads, and even the hot entrees, have all been top notch. Instead of hitting up the diner for a 10 dollar cheeseburger deluxe, I come here instead. They surprisingly have a full open kitchen at this deli, and the hot food does not disappoint. A cheeseburger deluxe with a small drink will run you about 6 dollars here - wonderful value for what you get. Also, I highly recommend the tomato mozzarella salad, this is better than some of the tomato/mozz salads I have had from Italian specialty stores, and the owner of this place is Polish. She knows what she is doing, go to Park and you will not be disappointed. read more

Was looking for a deli to get a breakfast sandwich and the one I found on Yelp was closed :( so I drove around and stumbled on this one. Went in for just a sandwich and came out with more than that. Coincidence? That's in my nature, unfortunately. (I have issues. Don't mind me) So the service was quick and the staff was very nice. They have a young man at the front who is more than friendly and the guy that made my sandwich, should've gotten his name, was very nice and informative. Let me know what I could get my sandwich on and wasn't frustrated that I wasn't sure which one to choose. Very clean place and prices are a bit higher than usual but it's New Hyde Park so...yea! Habits are hard to break, and the convenience factor has kept us coming back, but I've really had enough of the up and down quality of the sandwiches here. From the sometimes stale bread, which I noticed someone else mentioning, to the complete lack of uniformity in how the sandwiches are made. It totally depends on who makes it as to whether your sandwich is going to be any good or not. For the prices they charge - $6.75 for tuna on wholewheat, I would expect a decent amount of tuna. Sometimes I get it, sometimes it's a miserable excuse for an amount. Same with their heros. $9.25 for a sub par hero with nothing more than a sparse amount of roast beef and some lettuce. Sorry guys. we will not be back anymore. In the interests of fairness, I should point out that their breakfast sandwiches are very good. Never had an issue with those. read more

Utterly flavorless food, on more than one occasion. The sandwiches here are meh, I got a turkey BLT that was vaguely lacking turkey. The rice pudding and egg custards were off, and there was the horrid vinegary mac and cheese that made me want to become vegan. read more

Another first impressions eatery. While our first order from this store did come in huge quantities, sadly it was just to capture one's attention. Since our company moved to Long Island we were in search of a place where we can get our food every day. Consistency is key here. The problem is they started slacking off on the second and third orders. No utensils, no napkins, nothing. The portion is even horrible. I then realized, these guys just aim to impress. When they see that they have hooked you in, well.. you guys be the judge, I posted a picture of the corned beef lunch special I ordered and please let me know if that is worth 10 dollars to you. I tried to reason with their hostess (who seemed disinterested at her job and just passed the phone to a manager) the manager did not even apologize or try to resolve the issue. I love Park Deli, I've been going there for breakfast for three years. Breakfast food is great, a little pricey but it is what it is, this is Long Island. ALL of the staff, except one are super super friendly, they begin to know your face and are so pleasant. The cashier girl that they have working is so unbearably miserable that each patron can feel it. She says have a nice day so rudely, throws your change at you, and has snarky remarks even when you are being pleasant. Without all the extra rudeness from one employee who isn't even making any of the food, I would've given them five stars. Attitude is everything. The guys who make the food, manager and owner are extremely pleasant but one can ruin it for everyone else. read more

Let me start off by saying I'm not one to write bad reviews, I like yelp to write good reviews. I ordered from park deli this morning (on grubhub) and it arrived in a timely fashion. But as we opened our food I was unpleasantly surprised to find both our sandwiches were inedible. The chicken is gummy like it hasn't been cooked all the way through. But the outside is so hard so you can't get to the middle. Disgusting. I call this establishment and politely tell the girl on the phone that I'm sorry but I have an issue with my order. Tells me to hold and some rude man comes on the phone. Proceeds to fight with me that he wouldn't send out raw chicken, was annoyed I didn't know the names of HIS sandwiches off the top of my head and pretty much told me I'm wrong. Annoyed he told me he'd send out new ones and he wants the old ones back. Which is no problem because no one is eating them anyways but really? After waiting for our food I would call lie and about the food. The customer service deserves NO STARS. it was a simple mistake that could have been fixed easily. This place is an utter joke & as you can see from the reviews below I'm not the only one who feels this way. I came here for breakfast because they are open before anyone else in the area and I definitely do not regret it at all. Park Deli was my LAST resort today. I dont know many delis that were too local (tried fork and cleaver, wanted cherry valley or la bottega but had no time). I was just craving a sandwich before work. Made my own: garlic bread, chicken cutlet, swiss cheese, russian dressing and lettuce and tomato. Sub par in my opinion. It was my first time there. Garlic bread had no garlic. Chicken had no flavor. Not nearly enough cheese and lettuce was the hard part of the iceberg lettuce. Not what I was expecting. Definitely not worth 9.25. They heated up my chicken cutlet in a microwave in front of me. Unfortunately it was the only place open at 2:30 pm on Sunday and I was starving. Staff behind the counter was nice, but the girl in the front was kinda rude.
