Came in to check it out because I was at Jiffy Lube for an inspection. Ordered bacon, 2 fried eggs with salt, pepper and ketchup on a roll. The gentleman behind the counter was so nice and the store's well-maintained. Got home and I finally had the chance to eat it and OMG, it's do fresh and so good! There's lots of bacon and my eggs were nicely laid inside the roll. I love it! I don't eat this often but this is now my go-to breakfast sandwich place! read more

I'm a local, and Werner's is a hidden treasure. Kim and Sue do an incredible job to do deliver fresh, delicious food everyday with nothing but courtesy and professionalism! Their hard work shows in everything they do. We're lucky to have this deli in town. Oh yea, and everything is really affordable! You can walk out with a lunch you can't finish for less than $20. Recently started exploring delis nearby, and ordered western omelette w. Home fries. I have to say it's my least favorite experience so far. My receipt shows $9.79 plus 4% "no cash adjustment", assuming it means credit card charge. I would appreciate any restaurants that impose a credit card charge on customers either have a clear sign/notice or verbally mention to customers about it. When I was waiting for my food, I took pictures of the menu and thinking to use for future orders, but found out the price of my order shown as $8.99, assuming the $0.8 difference is for tax but the tax rate is a bit off. Speaking of the food, I was fine with the omelette while my husband considers it's a little overcooked. Both of us didn't like the home fries as it's just stir fried potatoes with no crispness and no flavor. read more

Great neighborhood deli. Kim and Sue are friendly to all. They make good sandwiches and around the holidays, if you order in advance, they make fresh pies; apple, pumpkin, coconut custard, etc. that are absolutely delicious! My favorite is the coconut custard. Very reasonably priced and better tasting that many of the crowded bakeries nearby. read more

My boss orders delivery from here all the time, so today I ordered with her...I ordered the chef salad. The food came really quick, and the guy is always super nice... Love this place. My favorite go to deli. Current owners kept the original recipes from the original owner Mr. Werner. They know the recipe for what makes this place so great and they don't stray from it. You can't go wrong with any of there sandwich's but my go to is the monte cristo with some German potato salad on the side. Delish! I have soft spot for werners because it reminds me of my beloved Double J deli in Queens: Wonderful local deli with really nice people. I recently discovered that the ownership had changed not too long ago, but on certain days, you still might be able to catch Mr. Werner himself still helping out and chatting up people in conversation. They have a number of special sandwiches on the menu - among them the werners strami special which is pastrami served hot on a garlic hero as well as the mustang special which is roast beef, bacon and bbq sauce on a hero. As for me, I'm always giving them special requests which they always put together for me perfectly. A hero will cost you about $7, but werners fills the sandwiches pretty well - I find that after enjoying a hero I'm usually not hungry for the rest of the day. I have yet to try their salads or hot dishes, such as meatloaf or chicken cordon bleu, however it's just a matter of time because they look delicious. Just be aware: they are closed on Sunday & they're not open particularly late. In addition, calling in your order ahead of time is a good idea because the space is not too big. Whether I'my grabbing lunch or just passing through, it's always a nice to chat with the friendly people at werners. read more

Best egg sandwich spot in town. There is no match for a better egg sandwich.. There lunch specials, there's something you'll want. If not one of the hero combos will hit the spot. I been going here since i was a kid,30+ years. Try the Large half ice tea- half lemonade... They haven't been at this location this long if they weren't doing something right. I love this deli. I get my breakfast there couple of times a week on my way to work. Kim, the owner is always so nice and accommodating. I have food allergies so he's always extra careful with my order. I miss Werner, the previous owner who opened up this deli in the 50s if I remember correctly. He was always so happy and full of energy even at 6am. Werner passed away recently. He helped Kim out till he couldn't do it anymore. Kim is the best. If you didn't know him you would think he is German. Great homemade apple cake. Sandwiches are great as well as salads.

Back in the late 1970's my friends and I worked at Tony's Shell Station at the SW corner of Jericho Tpke and Roslyn next to the Dorian Diner and Werner's was just a few feet East of us. They made a meat cake shaped like a hockey puck and they'd sit at room temperature on top of the deli case. They were cheap and amazing and would sell out fast.
