What a gem we discovered on our journey through the South! On an overnight stop in Tupelo, us weary travelers from California decided upon dining at Park Heights just across the street from where we were staying. The service the minute we walked in was attentive, warm and friendly. Even staff who weren't waiting on us wished us a nice meal. And nice it was! My guy and I shared the scallops appetizer, the mixed salad with peach, and the Branzino. Everything was delightful and a symphony to the palate! Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and presentation! Our hostess and waitress was Ryle and she was so polite and warm with her southern charm. The couple we were dining with had the halibut and were easily accommodated when they requested potatoes instead of grits. The restaurant was not busy so we had extra attention. We felt so well cared for and enjoyed the ambiance and delicious food for quite a while. I hope we come back to Tupelo again someday. We will definitely want to return to this place! Oh, and our back waiter was also a nice, courteous and responsive young man who attended to all our needs as well. I give him high praises as well. You can find much better food for much lower prices. The pork chop was cold, 2 of our parties dishes were more than late coming out. Most guest were finished before those meals arrived. 4.5 star to the service. The venue was very nice and elegant. It was a pleasant evening until the big group of very laude seniors came in. At that point it was very hard to hear each other at our table. It was my Bday and they gave me a free dessert. The amazing part was that they didn't even ask an ID to make sure it was my bday. Respect for the trust. Tiramisu was delicious and one of the best I ever had. But the fried apple things were waste of money. Food - 3.5 stars out of 5. It was okay food, just overpriced. The ribeye was okay. The tomato pie - I'm not really sure what it was, but I wouldn't recommend it at all. Overall, I would come back to this place after I try every steak house in town. 7 out of 10. Great meal here last night. We had a table of 6 in order primarily appetizers along with some drinks. Everything was really excellent and well cooked. We also enjoyed the crab soup which everyone agreed was both rich, but also nicely balanced. Cocktails were also excellent, I particularly enjoyed the tobacco old-fashioned. Everyone eating at the table is not from the south so we always make an effort to get some more local and specific dishes when we go out. With that in mind, dessert was chess pie and fried apple pie. Both were absolutely delicious. Service was a little bit spotty, but only because we realized they had a whole separate room of teens attending their prom that night, so clearly the weight staff was stretched, which is understandable. Everyone including managers, jumped in and did a great job. Ultimately no harm done and everyone had a really nice evening. read more

We ordered the steak fritas as is with asparagus and fries (odd), chicken breast meal and ribeye meal. Not the best cuts of meat but tasty. Service was awfully slow. 35-40 min wait on entrees. We had a birthday dinner here last night, first time at the restaurant. I can't say enough about what a find this is in Tupelo! Beautiful facility, great location. Everyone was courteous and friendly from the moment we arrived. Our server was exceptional. She knew the menu and was well-versed in everything available. She steered us to several exceptional offerings (don't miss the tomato pie!) and by our second or third course we were totally relying on her! She did not disappoint...I wish I'd gotten her name because the owner needs to know what great service she is delivering for the establishment. My hubby and I ate here a few years ago and we had a good experience here. We ordered steak and scallops. They both tasted good. The restaurant's decor is classy and it is a good place for a date. Racism. I dined with my husband and parents at this restaurant last summer. (My parents and I are of Asian descent while my husband is white.) We were all from out of town, although I grew up in a nearby city. Initially, the experience was pleasant, the food was descent and the atmosphere was fine. The issue came when another party was seated next to us and they were white. Also, they appear to be regular customers as the waitress (who was also serving our table) recognized them and they hugged and chatted. Then, she brought gave them complimentary bread, typical of most restaurants. As we never received the bread course, my husband asked the waitress for it. The waitress refused as she said the bread was only given to "regular customers." Only after my husband asked again did the waitress provide us with the bread. I've dined in restaurants of all caliber all over the world -- from food stalls in developing countries to Michelin-star establishments. And I've dined in plenty of restaurants in Mississippi and Tupelo specifically. I've never experienced or heard of a policy in which bread is only selectively complimentary. If it's complimentary to one patron, then it's complimentary to all patrons. I can't find a reason for the slight except that my parents and I were the only non-white patrons at the restaurant as far as I can tell. And if that's the reason for the discrimination, then it's racism. It been a year since this unpleasant encounter. I initially wanted to let it go. But since it's still bothering me after all this time, I want to get it off the chest and hope the restaurant conduct trainings and just do better next time. read more

This is Tupelo's nicest restaurant by far and the service is impeccable. Although the menu is small, it is very good and typically has something for everyone. I would like to see another soup on the menu. Currently, they only serve She Crab soup. I would like to see a different chicken option on the menu because it has been the same dish for a few years. Be it fine dining or not, chicken is important to someone with food allergies. Jose is our favorite server and he is outstanding. Jose's service is top notch and I have traveled all over the world. Absolutely wonderful experience. Started off with the scallops that were cooked just perfectly and tasted delightful. I had the 8 oz filet with potatoes/veggies and my company had the Halibut with risotto. Everything was cooked exceptionally and the outstanding service that José provided was much appreciated. Wrapped up the evening with the Creme Brûlée Cheesecake, which was the best decision of the night. It is my second time to this restaurant since I moved to Mississippi. From pictures from Yelp I had hope and expectations. Server and welcome was respectful and polite but I could not feel warmth and enthusiasm. It was little too formal for me. Ambience is old style steakhouse. Not much change from classic steakhouses. Tables are little too close with mild privacy problem. Place was clean but had kitchen smell especially in entrance area. Food was great though. I liked everything. We got 3 appetisers and entree and dessert. This place has great food and you can feel the difference in quality. I will definitely will be back for food. Small, humble, suggestion. Sorry if I am crossing over my lines. In place like this you want some privacy and little less noice so you can enjoy you conversation and food(which is phenomenal). Oh my goodness!!!!!! ***new chef*** Dan! This place is amazing. From the hostess, to the waiter to the chef. Friendly. Competent. The chef is top notch. We started our meal with stuffed squash blossoms and fried green tomatoes with mozzarella. Incredible, fresh and beautiful. Then I had peach with prosciutto salad. . Fantastic combo. For dinner I hade the Salmon with a pistachio sauce. My daughter had the red snapper. Cooked to perfection. The desserts were to die for. We had the mini peach pies and a peanut butter dessert that I can not remember the name. Holy moly I was in heaven. We left full, happy, and sad it was over. If I lived in the area (we are from Maryland) I would keep coming back till I tried everything! Seriously you need to consume this amazing food and wonderful service. read more

How good is Park Heights? We were in Tupelo 2 nights and ate there both nights. That goes against all of our better judgment, but our Friday night dinner was just too good not to return on Saturday. We had two different servers, but both were top notch. Both of them gave my wife's little cheat sheet of dietary limitations to the chef, and both made certain to double check ingredients to make sure there was no IBS misery, and I might add, both noted that they take food allergies seriously and both made us feel as if they would make sure we got what we wanted, and with the necessary accommodations. Friday night my wife had the 8 oz. filet, perfectly cooked and flavored, along with fresh veggies, while I had the redfish, which was good-sized and delicious, on top of an amazing andouille spoonbread, with fresh veggies and some crawfish etoufee'. Both of these entrees were exceptional! We enjoyed a very nice, reasonably priced Garnacha along with our meal. Saturday night my wife wanted scallops, which are offered as an appetizer; they doubled the order for an entrée and seared them in butter to fit her diet. She eats scallops everywhere and said these were the very best of the best. I had the striped bass, which was good (but not as good as the previous night's redfish...just think I like redfish better than bass), served atop lobster risotto, which was incredibly delicious with big chunks of lobster throughout out. We had the Redtree Pinot Noir with our meal; it is easily the least expensive of the Pinots so I thought we might regret selecting it, but it was really quite good. There are perhaps a dozen entrée options on the menu, each of them creative and tempting. Saturday night we had others dining with us and several had the fried peach pies with Makers Mark Anglaise, which they said was worth a 4-hour drive to Tupelo even if they didn't do another thing while in town. Our tab each night was around $130 with tip. I neglected to mention that the space itself is very attractive with contemporary lighting and nice big window views out at the park across the street. I went here once when in town for work. It was a Monday night and I was looking for restaurants within walking distance. I won't be going back. The quick run-down: * The entrance is hard to find. * The service was slow. It took 15 minutes after the host seated me before the waitress came by. * It seemed like there was only one waitress in the building, because she spent a majority of her time out of sight. I don't think that's what they meant when they say "good service is invisible". * The Mahi was overcooked. This might be why the dish took so long to arrive. * I had to remind the waitress to bring an additional side I ordered. * The raspberry coulis on my dessert was applied stingily. When I came here to write this review, I see where someone else says that this is supposed to be the most upscale restaurant in Tupelo. You've got to be joking. I've been to fried catfish joints with quicker service, more attentive service, better cooked food, and quicker food than here. This travesty of dining took over 90 minutes for one person. Now, I sometimes do that intentionally when I'm looking for a break from work or to downshift after a long day. But this was not one of those days. It took that long because the waitress was never there! I'd have loved to be in and out in 45 minutes. No dice. There is nothing to like here besides the wine list and the chocolate mousse pie. read more

Two words: massively overpriced. The food was ok, not $30 entree good. Charcuterie plate for two would've been enough appetizer for four football players and was average at best. Call it a meat and cheese plate if you're not doing a real plate of cured meats and quality cheese. Half of the cheese was literally cubes of grocery store pepper jack. Shrimp and grits was ok.
