I've eaten at Park Heights in both their old and new locations, both in the regular crowd and for multiple private events. They are very upscale for this area in terms of the decor and general sophistication of the menu. That said, the food rarely lives up to it. It's very often a plain entree with mid-quality ingredients dressed up with a special sauce or presentation. For example, the "charcuterie board". Fancy name or no, it's still food service level ingredients arranged decoratively. It's not bad food and it's definitely a cut above a chain family restaurant or steakhouse. But it's not in line with the prices they charge. Service-wise, my experience has always been good and the staff friendly and attentive. I still think this is one of the best places in Tupelo to get a nice meal. Two stars because you shouldn't be paying the prices on the bill you receive. read more

First restaurant to hit while on a business trip and traveling with the VP of a nonprofit. Loved the cute little place. Greeted with a huge smile and lots of suggestions. It's not a chain and so you have that neighborhood type of feel. The waitress actually sat down with us at one point and chatted it up. We pulled into town looking for lunch and found a diamond in Tupelo. This restaurant is sophisticated but not stuffy. There is something for everyone on the menu, he got the burger and fries....OMG those fries were worth every calorie! I got the salmon BLT and tomato pie. Yes, that's right tomato pie, YUM! First restaurant that we have ventured in since the March quarantine. Traveling from Memphis to old waverly to play socially distancing golf, we took a chance to have dinner on the patio. I would give ZERO stars. Our night began at the hostess counter where, despite my 6pm reservation and being first in line, the hostess sat 3 older ladies who came in after us but we're obviously regulars at the only open table. 10 min later we were sat. 20 min later we finally met our server who proceeded to get our drink order wrong. 1 of 4 people got the correct cocktail. Then, even though I had called ahead as it was my friends birthday, we never received the birthday appetizer. 20 MORE minutes later she took our dinner order and brought the appetizers. 30 MORE minutes she brought us a second and equally incorrect round of drinks. FINALLY at 800. TWO HOURS LATER... NOPE, NOT FOOD... WE LEFT. AND they had the nerve to give us the full bill and a minor apology. My friends birthday was ruined and we were nearly late to the Eric Church concert. I will not go back and I don't recommend on a busy night that you do either! read more

Whether you go for lunch or dinner, this is about as good as it gets in Tupelo. Today, I went to a different restaurant (Fairpark Grill), and about 20 minutes into my meal there, my lunch companion and I both commented that we wished we'd gone to Park Heights instead. Park Heights takes food to a new level with creative flavor combinations, gorgeous presentation, and superb service. The atmosphere is just divine as well. I'm really not sure why I would choose to go anywhere else for a nice lunch or dinner. I think that one of my favorite things about Park Heights is the versatility of the menu and atmosphere. If I want to go in for a leisurely cup of coffee and a decadent dessert, I can. If I need to bring in a few people for a business lunch, I can be confident that everyone will be impressed. And nobody beats Park Heights for a evening with my significant other. (The baked oysters are killer, and the wine list is great.) Pricewise, you can enjoy a very reasonable lunch menu, or you can go all out and have the evening of a lifetime and spend as much as you want. The menu is that diverse. My favorite entrée is the Chilean sea bass. You won't find anything like it in Tupelo. Also, the servers are trained to a tee. Unlike Fairpark Grill, where the servers are either blank as a piece of paper or cocky as a drunk Reese Witherspoon, the Park Heights servers exude class and elegance. I believe that Park Heights could take in a homeless bum and teach him to be a world-class maître d'. It's weird that these two restaurants are owned by the same family (Bernard Bean and Blair Hughes), because they are at opposite ends of the spectrum on everything but atmosphere, and Park Heights still wins that hands down. I travel to Tupelo about 4 times a year for business and have resigned myself to eating at Outback Steakhouse each trip. My lady joined me on this particular trip because she had business in Memphis and we joked on our way from Charlotte to Tupelo about which chain restaurants we would patronize during our visit. But what kind of man would I be if I forced a beautiful woman to belly up to the bar next to a bunch of road-weary salesmen at the Outback or O'Charley's? (OK, so we did eat at Outback once...) It was time for me to step up to the plate and find some amazing restaurant for us. Enter Park Heights. First, let me say that the ambiance is wonderful. Dark wood floors, dim lights and a glass front that allows diners to look down Tupelo's Main Street. Both the hostess (who may have been part of the ownership) and our server were both attentive, knowledgeable and gregarious. They have a wonderful scotch list and I was happy to find that they serve Macallan's 18-year. Both amberjack and butterfish were on the menu the night I ate at Park Heights and I chose the butterfish. It was nothing short of perfect! Served over black rice with a cream sauce that was delicious but did not overpower the taste of the fish or rice, nor was the fish swimming in the sauce. The lady had Chilean sea bass with some sort of ginger slaw and another sort of rice. It was much better than sea bass at most places I've eaten sea bass, but it did not top my butterfish. We were too full for dessert, so I cannot comment on the dessert quality, but the dessert list looked wonderful. I will be back to Park Heights on future visits to Tupelo. Sure, you'll spend a bit more than you will at one of the chain restaurants, but if good food is in your budget give Park Heights a try. read more

This is a beautiful restaurant with good intentions . Nice staff and a good apps . They need to work on their fish. A restaurant of this caliber should never serve frozen fish .... It was warm and the fish was waterlogged . They tried to fix it by reheating it but it still was not good . This was a disappointment . We were highly recommended to this restaurant. We will probably try again next time we come through town . The owner tried to do everything she could at the time. It's the kitchen . Sorry , but I rely on honest reviews. Neat little restaurant on the main drag in Tupelo. Wonderful decor, tall ceilings, and very clean. Our server was having an off day but the food was delicious. I ordered the meatloaf which came with authentic creamy and partly chunky mashed potatoes and freshly steamed southern greens. The meat loaf was thick cut and meaty, not pressed tight like a brick. It was lightly covered with a tasty red sauce that was delicious and not overpowering. Just nice enough to add some flavor to everything that was already top notch. For desert I had the bread pudding. It tasted good but was not the best I'd ever had. Great place to eat. Try it out. read more

I'll go ahead and say, the prices are pretty much in line with other nicer restaurants. I got the Halibut fish, which was really good! There was some other stuff on my plate that I didn't really care for but ate none the less. My date got the filet, and as I tried a bite, I was really surprised at how bland it tasted. I was really expecting the steak to be really tasty and have that melt in your mouth experience. Not even close. Overall pretty swanky place, not really my kind of restaurant. I had been to this restaurant earlier this summer for lunch and had great service and a good meal of meatloaf and accompaniments. So, this time when my husband and I were down in Tupelo again, I suggested that we consider dining there instead of going again to one of the many chain restaurants in town. The decor is lovely. High ceilings and tasteful colors and artwork invite one in for an evening of cool and upscale ambiance. We hoped that the food would coincide with the surroundings. Our wine and martini (for me) were served well and promptly. Our appetizer of Voodoo lobster was a feast for the eyes and tastebuds. The crispy battered lobster was coated with a sweet and spicy sauce, which, when sprinkled with the lemons which accompanied it, was more than satisfying. The server asked if we wanted to order salads, and since we were undecided, she suggested that we might want to split one, which was a great choice for our appetite level. The grilled romaine with tomatoes and cheese was covered with an extremely tasty dressing of cracked peppercorn and a creamy base. The corn bread croutons, sadly, were soggy vs. crispy. We waited and waited and waited for our entrees. The server did say that they took much longer than they should have. It was a Monday night and hardly crowded, so we were indeed perplexed at the overlong wait. My scallops on top of grits with asparagus and mushrooms were very attractive and flavorful. Because we had such a wait, however, I was overly full and could hardly eat more than a few. I did take the leftovers home in hopes that they would reheat for lunch the following day. My husband had the red snapper with black-eyed pea fritters (which he declared were excellent), but he failed to get enough of the flavorful chow chow to complete the dish and found the snapper to be therefore rather bland. Despite the extreme delay between courses, we did enjoy most of the meal and would consider a return. The prices are a bit steep, but to have a choice other than Outback and Olive Garden makes them seem rather worth it. read more

I visit Tupelo a few times a year as a health care consultant, Park Heights is the best restaurant I've been to in the area. That being said, I'm not looking for traditional southern food. This is the only place that I can consistently get fresh veggies, a beautiful salad and a nice variety of fish. The service is always top notch; from Barbara greeting you when you arrive and and amazing wait staff (especially Patton!!) that can give you tips on meals and wine pairing...it's obvious that they take pride in what they do. If you're visiting Tupelo or you're a resident, Park Heights should be on your list of must try restaurants. Bon Appetite! read more

I've never written a review on Yelp, but I wanted to do this because this restaurant should have been much more crowded on a Saturday night. My husband enjoyed the Carpetbagger (steak with oysters), and I had the Crabcakes: Both entrées were perfect, as were the wine, bread, and wedge salad (that they split in half for us). My wife and I eat at Park Heights at least once a week and I have to say this is the best restaurant in Tupelo. I love the service, food and the ambiance. the price line may be a little high for some people that I understand, but to me you pay for what you get. I usually start with the VooDoo lobster or charcuterie board for two. For dinner I get the ribeye and like to try different sides based on each trip. I think the thing that dings PH the most would be the macaroni and cheese which I am not a huge fan of. The restaurant is always clean and the hostess comes by and checks on you religiously. I love her attitude and want to adopt her! If you can spare 150 to 200 for dinner for two and a couple hours of your time please go visit. I recommend making a reservation and getting there a few minutes early. If you think the price is too high for dinner you can visit Buffalo Wild Wings. read more

I had eaten here before and thought the food was ok but not great so I thought I would give it another try. The fried oyster salad was standard. and was fine. The grilled porkchop was a letdown, the meat dry and tough. The grits and cabbage beneath it were definitely better than the meat. The fried peach pies were good but not outstanding. For the prices charged here, the food is not at all wonderful. You can spend the same amount of money other places for better food. And the waiter should learn that other words besides "awesome" could be used to describe everything on the menu. read more
