I've gotta say...I was blown away during my stay at Park Hyatt. From the moment we pulled up every single staff member was polite, friendly, and incredibly helpful! The valet (though, yes, pricey) is incredibly convenient, the check-in process was quick and easy, and, even upon first glance, you can tell Park Hyatt is a very nice place to stay. I was already impressed...then we walked into our room. The room we had was on the 4th floor of the North Tower right by the elevator. The room, furnishings, and amenities are incredibly high end. Rooms are large (bathroom is HUGE) and definitely comfortable. There was a bucket of ice waiting for us, with was the perfect welcome, along with free bottled water, after our trip. WiFi is FREE...and it doesn't require a password or for you to input your information every time you log on like other hotels I have been to. This is an absolute dream come true...especially when you are trying to keep international phone costs down! The location is virtually perfect. Close to all forms of transportation, convenience stores, restaurants, and high end retail shops. The neighborhood is quieter than what I imagine the downtown core would be, which was also nice (though the neighborhood is definitely still lively). The morning of check out we were running a bit behind so I called, only 15 minutes prior to check out and asked for a later time. They accommodated us with no complaint. When we did check out, again, the process was as painless as could be. They called the valet to bring our car around, and it was in front of the hotel in less than 5 minutes. I really could not say anything but the most positive things about my stay at Park Hyatt except to add that I will definitely stay with them again if/when I am in Toronto! read more

My friends booked a room here and I met up with them for some drinks before heading out for a bachelor party. The room was decent. Not as nice as I was expecting for the Hyatt. I found it quite odd that the room had two double beds, I would think Queens would be standard nowadays. It's kind of a pain in the ass that you have to phone down to have someone bring ice to your room because they keep the ice machine locked. We stayed here for valentines day. My boyfriend planned the evening and booked a great room with a spa package. It was my first time staying here but I loved it almost immediately because of the great location (Louis Vuitton lol ) and the amazingly huge bathroom :D Everything started off great until we could hear every little bang the cleaning staff were making. The room was in an end corner tucked away... Strangely enough it was only 2 doors away from the cleaning staff room and things got pretty loud come 7-9am. I also got the feeling some of customer service people unfortunately hated their jobs. One staff member in particular didn't seem to understand the package and spa package my boyfriend had bought. 15 minutes later he was still trying to make it out like it was us who couldn't follow... Thank God for receipts and email verifications... It's a shame you have to go through all that for their disorganization and stupidity. That whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth. To the point that I wanted to leave immediately. Not the kind of impression I'd want to leave with my guests when there are better hotels in Toronto.... Park Hyatt can do so much better... The Park Hyatt is everything you would expect in a first class hotel, and more. Perfectly located in the Yorkville area, you have Toronto at your doorstep. The rooms are spacious and quiet. The staff is very friendly and have always gone out of there way to be helpful. We have stayed here many times, but this last visit was by far the best. This was the first time we've traveled with our 10 month old mini poodle puppy named Dude. The hotel was so accommodating. They supplied bowls for his food and water, plus a very comfortable bed for our furry companion. We worried how Dude would handle a big noisy city being a California beach dog, and where (and if) he would go to the bathroom. Luckily right around the corner from the hotel is Prince Arthur street, a quiet suburban feel in the heart of a busy city. He had no problems. The Park Hyatt is a destination hotel, and if you don't want to leave your furry friend at home, they will make them as welcome as you. read more

Attended a conference at the Park Hyatt Toronto and wanted to comment about the hotel. The hotel is situated in the heart of Yorkville, which is home to many high-end stores and eateries. The hotel has an exquisite entry for taxis/cars, where you are greeted by a friendly Hyatt professional. Although the hotel will likely need some updating in the next year or so, the service from the concierge to the janitors was exceptional. Also, the WiFi was strong and connecting was easy. Washrooms throughout the hotel were plentiful, but will require some updating as well. I highly recommend the hotel from a service perspective! Enjoy. read more

I spent the night with my hubby as part of a birthday weekend. I must say, the service was wonderful. The checking was seamless. We arrived at 9:30am as we had an appointment at the spa. I assumed we would just leave our bags with the concierge and then come back and get them around noon when our room was available. Not the case - our room was ready! This was the first of many lovely surprises. We also received late checkout, without evening asking. The room itself was as expected. The bed was wonderful (a king),however some of the décor was looking a bit rundown and their was a stain on the carpet. The bathroom was huge which was lovely. The standard TV, desk, mini bar and chairs were all as expected. The concierge was very helpful suggesting a good spot for lunch. The location of the hotel is great, right on avenue and bloor close to all the bloor st./cumberland shopping. We had drinks up at the rooftop lounge which were excellent - although since there was a snowstorm the view wasn't amazing :) We had brunch at Annona - which was also very good. Given the time of year the hotel was busy with lots of holiday parties and private events but they didn't intrude on the experience as a guest and actually added to the festive holiday nature of the hotel. Park Hyatt is in the yuppity area of Yorkville. If you're looking for a trendy boutique hotel this may not be the one - but if you are looking for a classy, adult joint - I would def recommend the Park Hyatt. Though the room wasn't as modern as I would like, the spa made up for it. Hotel guests can use the saunas (both dry and wet) and jacuzzi at no cost. Possibly the best spa in Toronto (though having not been in any others who am I to judge?). Amazing views from the 18th floor bar/restaurant. And much love to Gregory the concierge! read more

Perfectly situated hotel in the heart of the beautiful area of Yorkville. Within a few minutes of walking down the street you can that this is the higher end section of Toronto. The hotel provides an ideal location for walking to some of the best restaurants in Toronto as well as nightlife and other attractions. The rooms were spacious and clean. I stayed in a double bed room with a buddy and it provided all that was needed for two people to have their own space. Beds were comfortable, but the pillows did kind of suck. Nothing worse than pillows that sink into the bed as soon as your heads hit it! Bathroom was huge and clean, that's always a plus in my book. In my opinion this is an ideal place to stay in Toronto. It's away from the downtown crowdedness yet a quick hop skip and a jump away from it. And as I mentioned before, you're surrounded by some of he best restaurants in the city as well as great nightlife spots. If you're in your late 20's or early 30's, this is definitely the area to stay in. It gives you an opportunity to walk around the city and explore the different neighborhoods and all that Toronto has to offer. It's a big city with much going on, so you definitely want to see as much of it as possible. read more

I found the hotel to be just o.k. Not great. My room was in the north tower, Even though I had a sitting area the room was small. The bathroom was nice and had lots of marble. I made use of the spa and room service.There was no wow factor either in my room or lobby area. During my stay the hot water broke, and I had to shower in the spa.I went through the lobby in a bathrobe. As I stay at other Hyatt hotels, I would not come back to this one.! read more

Wish the windows were bigger because the view is aMazing. The roof top on the 18th floor offers the greatest view of downtown. If you are a tourist visiting this is the hotel for you. Spent 4 nights here for a first trip in TO and had a great experience. My travel partner fell ill the first day there. The hotel staff went above and beyond and got us a same day appointment (within a couple of hours) at a nearby doctor and worked with the pharmacy next door to make sure my friend got her medicine. The rooms were nice (and we got a complimentary upgrade, which is also nice), but really the service here made the trip. read more

I was so excited to stay at the Park Hyatt Toronto on my recent trip to Canada; however I was very disappointed. The hotel is extremely dated especially for the super high prices. The positives are the friendly staff, comfortable bed and incredible city views I was afforded in my complimentary upgrade. Dislike based on price. I tend to prefer value over luxury for goods/services etc. I don't mind paying for quality, so long as the value is there. But after a point, the value stops getting returned and the rest is just gravy. Park Hyatt is a nice hotel. Probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in in terms of luxury. My work just paid for 2 nights while I was in town for a conference. However, considering the cost of $250 a night, I have experienced much better value elsewhere. For example the shortcomings of the hotel include: shoddy internet (barely capable of playing youtube), no coffee/tea making capability in the room, no microwave to reheat leftovers or whatever, no storage room in the 'minibar/fridge.' I didn't drive, but I imagine they charged for parking as well. However, the rooms are beautiful. They have nice slippers/robes, great view from the room I had (6th floor facing south), and the location/neighborhood is also good. It just depends what you're looking for: luxury or value. For the latter, keep looking. read more

It's a nice hotel. And it offers free wifi. We were here for a wedding. Are we the only idiots who ever stay at the suggested hotel? But with that said the room was nice. But it was standard with a few flaws (i.e. A stopper that didn't work and a little dustball in the lights). The Rooftop reception was nice and the food was well cooked. These types of hotels aren't my thing. I was a Kimpton girl when we were married no kids. Now we tend to prefer DoubleTrees, Courtyard Marriots, Hilton Inn Suites and even Comfort Suites. I like free wifi, mini fridges, and yes complimentary breakfast. This is on the opposite end of my liking. Everything you need requires a call to room service. There is no ice fridge on the floor. Remember to have lots of tip money. My husband was exiting the car on one side handing the tip to a valet and the guy who open my daughter side too waited for a tip. For ppl who don't carry a lot cash--one weekend stay may cost you about 130 in tips. There are complimentary items(get ready to tip). But We had to buy some baby oil to counteract the hard water. To avoid the wrath of an itchy 2 year old - I bought a two ounce bottle of baby oil costing 9.00 with tax. We travel a lot but we may not be their kind of people. We may need to keep our resort staying, cruise traveling, Hilton inn guest suite staying selves out of Hyatts. It's too rich for our blood. read more

This was my first stay at this hotel. Very nice staff. Nice room. Weird that there is no ice machines. They deliver it with the turndown service. Didn't realize to put out black bag to get morning paper. Never saw it in the room. Never did get the coffee machine to work. I followed the instructions. Nothing. The tub was so deep I couldn't adjust or turn off the water without standing up. Not a good tub for an old doll like me. Had a nice lunch in the restaurant. Had the tuna. Good conference rooms except you constantly hear the subway overhead but given the awesome location I guess that just comes with the territory. Checked out at 9:45 didn't get car from valet parking until nearly 11. That seems really long and very inconvenient. Made me late for an appointment. read more

Service at the Park Hyatt was good. The rooms are not trendy; they're much more business-like but still exceptionally clean. It was kind of annoying that they didn't come equipped with a dvd player but a quick phone call fixed that within 5 minutes. The location is great, right next to Yorkville and a stone's throw away from great shopping and dining. We didn't take advantage of any of the facilities, but the breakfast was to die for. Although kind of pricey ($25 a plate), I would definitely come back for the food alone! As for everything else - the lobby is nice, valet parking, etc. but nothing in the room itself really "wowed" me. read more

I am conflicted about this hotel Pros: -The front desk attendant and concierge were very helpful and very nice. They allowed us early check in which I was super surprised about and it was really nice to be able to settle in and refresh before going out and exploring the city. - I loved the location- it is set away (North) from the downtown hustle and bustle- but conveniently located near subway access (museum station)- and the neighborhood it is located in is so nice to explore! -comfort- the bed was super comfortable-- I could have stayed in that bed all vacation (but didn't!) Cons: - Parking is super expensive and I was disappointed that this wasn't included in the price of the room - wifi- you have to sign up with their rewards program to sign into their wifi (just stop it already- this is annoying) - the bathroom was grungy (maybe the price of early check in?!?) spots on the mirror, the grout was gross in the shower which sort of detracted from all the marble. I sacrificed my toes on the threshold multiple times in the less than 24 hours we were there because it was jacked-up about two inches from the floor- so be cautious! - Price- it is expensive- over $400 in all for a night. So I don't really think the price was justified but I wouldn't say I regret my stay there either and I would even stay there again. I would give Park Hyatt 3.5 if I could-for stellar staff- comfort of bed and location-- but for the price you may be able to do better. read more

The rooftop bar is the place I go for my favourite cocktails. The mixologist on site is a genius. I had an elderflower gin cocktail. I think it is the best cocktail I have ever had.. Sipping on that in combination with the beautiful view of the Toronto skyline and my hubby it was a great way to start off a friday date night. The service was excellent too, the hostess made sure we got a seat with a great view as soon as one became available. I definitely recommend trying this if you want to have a romantic moment on top of the city. It is a little pricey though. read more

I don't know anything about Toronto, but there were plenty of bars, lounges, and restaurants nearby; even a museum! We were here for a conference, so we got a charter bus to go to Spin, a "Ping Pong Social Club," but I don't think it was all that far. Anyway, great location! ** Personal Email Before the Stay I received an email from the hotel on Saturday, I think, for a Monday check in. Basically it said that they look forward to my visit, and to reply if I needed anything. That's a very nice touch! I have never had that from any hotel ever (not that I stay in high level hotels often, but the JW Marriott never sent me anything like that). I thought it was just because I was there for the conference, but apparently others got the same email. ** Free Bottled Water! This is new! Normally they place a bottle of water in the room and it's almost like you touch it you buy it...for $5! I was afraid to touch the bottle in the room, but when housekeeping came (while I was still there), she asked me if I wanted some extra water, and she told me it's complimentary! Sweet! I usually go out and buy a 6 pack, or hell, even a 24 pack, of water before I check in, because a 24 pack costs $3-4 usually, and a single bottle of water would cost upwards of $2 or $3! So even though I'm wasting most of the bottles, it's a whole lot more economical. Plus, I don't feel guilty, because I assume housekeeping will keep it. ** Free Wifi You connect to the wifi and click on "Accept" and you're in! No last name and room number or anything. And it's pretty fast. I watched a Netflix show without any degradation or buffering. Plus it works throughout the lobby and conference areas too, which is great for me, because I didn't have a roaming data plan. CONS ** Can't Control AC vs Heat I'm fat, so I have a lot of "insulation." In other words, I typically prefer cooler temperatures. Well, this was March, so outside it was in the 20s and 30s, which means that most people turn on the heat. Even without the heat's help, the room was a bit warm, so I tried to lower the thermostat. Only problem is, there isn't a switch to go from Heat to A/C, so all I was doing was not letting the heat turn on, but because of great insulation (I guess) the room temperature never went down anyway! Because of the inside/outside pressure, opening the window just made air rush out, so technically, I was getting hallway air in, and it was a little cooler, but not much. I can sleep like a rock in mostly any condition...EXCEPT when I'm hot, so suffice to say, I didn't sleep well this trip. Temperature control is absolutely the most important thing to my stay, so this place lost major points for this (though I don't really have a point system for hotels, lol)! ** Really? 1 Outlet? I listed this as 1.5 outlets, because the only outlets you have access to, outside of the bathroom and without moving furniture, are the 2 on the lamp on the desk. Problem for me, though, one of the outlets on the lamp was broken, so I actually only had 1. In order to have a laptop going and 2 phones charging, I had to move the night stand to get access to 2 more outlets behind it. Must be an old hotel. ** Toilet Takes Forever To Flush Regardless of what's in the bowl, the duration of the flush takes like 7-8 seconds. Even worse, if you have just toilet paper in there, you have to hold the lifter down for that whole duration, and even then, you might need a second flush! ** Bed Felt Cheap I typically like firm mattresses, but the way this mattress sounded as I laid down, it was making that plasticky crumpling noise, which is usually indicative of a cheap mattress. ** 1st Floor Conference Area Quakes Apparently, there is a subway that goes underneath the building. I can't tell you the names of the rooms anymore, but where we had our meals, you could really feel the floor rumble and glasses would clink every time a train passed. Even in our main hall, you could feel it, although a little less than the dining room. ** Expensive Valet Wowza! $45 a night?! Downtown LA wasn't even that expensive! read more

This is a great place to go, the problem is whenever i'm at this hotel its usually on a weekend and it gets quite busy and can be hard to find a table where your not bumping arms with someone... but i guess there is a reason for why its so busy, mainly just go for drinks... if you can score a place on the sofa by the fire in the winter, it will be hard for you to leave read more

The Hyatt is a beautiful old-school hotel with standard and over the top rooms. There are tons of banquet halls, more than one restaurant and the full on brass-cart bell hop service. The rooftop is fantastic! Best feature by far. The patio spans the width of the bar like one giant balcony over looking the city. It's a hub for after dinner drinkers and it gets rammed during Film Fest. They serve these great little nibble trays of peanuts and olives and breads. THE 18th Floor Lounge One of the best bars in the world! I have been to many, Harry's in Venice, The Ritz in Paris, or the Dorchester in London. This Toronto lounge on the 18th floor with unobstructed views of the city, the provincial legislature, and as far as lake Ontario, oozes ideal taste of sophistication, without ever being pretentious! How you may ask? The staff are professional friendly and knowledgeable. I am sure that I have been in a variety of states; dress, mood, day, night, with friends or on a date, and every time treated and served in a fantastic manor. The woodsy club interior combined with the literary history and the amazing terrace that has just a few tables, to generate envy in the summer are the crown of a very nice city hotel, but certainly the jewel in the crown is the remarkable unpretentious serving staff. Yes it is expensive, but so what, it's worth it! PS as mentioned before regarding good hotel lounges, the drinks are perfect and snacks are provided. Just writing this review makes me want to go tonight! read more

When I received a personalized email a couple of days before checking in from the hotel manager, I was very much looking forward to the Park Hyatt experience. I was able to get a deal during cyber Monday and locked in a rate of USD 200/nite. Upon arrival, I was slowly getting less and less excited. Here is why: - The hot cider welcome station was completely empty. I saw them looking at me and they didn't bother offering a refill. - no acknowledgement on whether you are a platinum passport member or not. No offer for late checkout. - the rooms look tired and can certainly use updates. - The illy espresso machine maybe fancy but it was missing a part and hence not working. I was in a rush the first day so just kind of gave up. The second day I asked them to help and the guy who came insisted that I didn't know how to use it but after toying with it ended up replacing machine anyways. - I had to wait until at least a dozen ring to get to someone for a wake up call. - the room is not equipped with enough power outlet by the bed/nightstand so I had to unplug the alarm clock. - windowless gym that shakes whenever the subway passes by. - taxi - it took a while to get a taxi here so my suggestion would be uber it. There are some perks adding nice touches to my stay - the shoeshine service. You do have to call housekeeping and let them know. - free wifi including the restaurant anona but not the gym. - nice view of Toronto from the top floor (18th floor) - complimentary water In short, they don't live up to my Park Hyatt expectation. read more
