I was skeptic about our stay because A LOT of reviews said not so great things. I have to say... we were unexpectedly surprised! My husband usually only stays in 5-star hotels. So he was the most skeptical! He was even surprised & very pleased. The room was clean- towels were white & fluffy (even smelled fresh)! The one thing I was a very worried about was hot water - NO WORRIES **YES! ** We had steaming hot water! You just had to let it run for a minute of 2. It's an old historic building. We were all in the historic tower, on different floors. None of us had a complaint. Floors in the room were clean. It is pet friendly - so when we arrived we were going to board the elevator and the staff was cleaning it when the clients got off. *Housekeeping cleaned our rooms daily. FYI vending machines were located on the second floor. We all used the giant hot tub which WAS working and was hot and clean. (Someone from the hotel checked on it every few hours) My friends purchased stuff in the quaint gift shop. The only suggestion I would have to say was maybe if the staff all had polos in the same color .. or sweatshirts / sweaters- just something recognizing, so you knew who worked there- other then that EVERYONE WAS FRIENDLY! Parking was easy and convenient! We had a party at the hotel restaurant, we had a party of 16, (Thank you Tony)! accommodated us without any problems! Dinner & drinks were fantastic! We were able to decorate the tables they put together for us. Close to all the bars & shopping we walked too! We really didn't even need to book a rental. Next time We will skip it and just uber to the hotel. All in all none of us were disappointed we booked the hotel vs VRBO or Airbnb.

Walked in, walked out. Air conditioning was as loud as a in-window unit from the 80s. Bedding was not finished and box springs were completely exposed. Dirty duvet covers and stains on bed. Moisture stains all over ceiling. Multiple damages to furniture... great view of a dirty rooftop. Insanely dusty.

Very rustic and pleasant. Great location, with in walking distance of a lot of great restaurants and downtown stores.

Terrible customer service. Spent most of our time waiting for a room that was way past check in. Waste of a day, will not be back.

The Hotel Indigo in Traverse City in my opinion is a solid 3 out of 5. I just returned from a…read moreweekend stay and thought the overall property was well maintained, lobby was clean, room and hallways were clean. I have no complaints. If you are looking for a decent place where you will be comfortable, is close to local attractions, but not needing a lot of frills, this should meet your need. I think however this hotel benefits from not having much competition in the area for a modern hotel with luxury amenities. On the positive side, the best aspects are that the location is in walking distance to everywhere you would want to go for downtown bars and restaurants and the waterfront view is spectacular. The valet and desk staff were also friendly and helpful. The view at the rooftop restaurant / bar is awesome. On the downside, there is a high level of noise from the street and from nearby rooms. The walls are thin, and I could hear people next door talking and in the hallway. Also, the sheets on the bed are thin like paper towel and I was cold and had to wear a sweatshirt to bed to be warm. The bed itself is hard, not firm, but hard. I do not know what the bed is made of, but it seemed like plywood. Bed was uncomfortable, so at the end of a long day I did not get the relaxation of a good night sleep. Also, the bath products were small in proportion. Hand soap was a like a sliver of what you would throw away when you get to the end of a full bar. I would highly recommend making sure you bring your own shampoo, soap, body lotion and whatever bath products you like because you won't have them at this hotel. One other aspect that was an annoyance and not a huge deal was the television. You don't need a lot of television on vacation but it was exceptionally slow to change channels and was making it difficult to watch any television, so I mostly just watched one channel. If you will not be spending a lot of time at the hotel, but looking for a convenient and clean place that is friendly and in walking distance to bars, restaurants and attractions I think you would find this a good choice.

As you can see from the photo, this was the entire serving. At nearly $21 for a basket of fries, the portion felt completely unreasonable and not at all worth the price. I'm happy to pay for good food and a great atmosphere, but I expect the portion to at least feel appropriate for what I'm paying.

The accommodations such as a free shuttle with good times too or you could take the free bus that takes you to the downtown area too. Rooms were actually very clean and it really felt like that I was at home. Great modernized rooms too. Though there wasn't much of a view for my first floor room I was close to the lobby which I was very content with. The breakfast had vegan options for my wife shockingly! Breakfast besides that was incredible with what was provided. They had cookies for guests in the evening hours. The fitness room was Prestine as well though I was slightly disappointed that a hot tub was supposedly advertised wish there is not but the pool has pretty solid hours too if the beach isn't your kind of thing. Prices here are kind of high but it was ultimately Justified throughout our entire visit. I will highly recommend and suggest coming here as your first choice if you are staying in the area.

We arrived early from a long road trip and were greeted by a friendly front desk clerk who to checked us in early. There was a small desk, hooks for hanging personal items, hangars, a small fridge, disposable cups, extra towels and comfortable beds. The lobby was cute and modern and had plenty of comfy seating options, small tables, foosball tables, 24 hr. complimentary coffee and tea and snacks, soups, mac 'n cheese, etc. and beverages for sale. There is a workout room equipped with treadmills, Peloton, elliptical, weights, mats, towels and water bottle filler. The front desk has complimentary ear buds if you need them. I do like an in room coffee maker but even having to go downstairs to get a hot cup of coffee in the morning wasn't a problem. The hotel is two years old so everything is nice and new. The beds were very comfortable and the room a have a blackout shade. Plenty of USB and plugs in the room. They have a smart TV so I was able to stream my Netflix and SiriusXM music. Even with a room facing the main highway it was a peaceful and quiet stay. I can't think of one negative about this hotel and would happily stay here again.

Nice common area with a fireplace and comfy couches. The views were amazing. Cons: The front desk staff seems unhappy and passes that along to you. As other reviewers have mentioned, they aren't flexible when it comes to changing your stay or checking in/out earlier than the stated times, so make sure your plans are very solid before booking, even in the dead of winter. Parking is very limited. We were expecting guests to drop by for a quick visit (two hours tops) and asked where they could park. We were directed across US-31 (a busy four-lane thoroughfare) to an overflow lot. We asked if there was anything closer, as one person is in a wheelchair, but they didn't budge. (The parking lot in front of the hotel was empty except for our car at that point.) I'm giving this four stars because it is an impressive property and the winter prices are quite low, but keep in mind that the customer experience wasn't great.
