The CSA is available from Friday-Sunday and you pay first and then collect the produce outside in your own bag/box. The market also had some baked items, frozen meats and jarred goods available. Once in, you are given instructions on how to pick the tulips. Your ticket includes 6 tulips and then each additional stem $1 and each additional bulb is $1. The weather was AMAZING and there were so many cute photo ops in the field. This is a very family friendly place, including infants and babies! After we picked our tulips, we sat around to take in the view. When we were ready to check out, there were stations to trim the ends and take the tulips in a water cup. The property this weekend had music, cidery, farm animals, and other cute fun barn games for kids. I highly recommend you to check out the farm!

They had been to a wedding where they were served Dangerously Delicious Pie, a DMV classic. On Main St just west of the B&O Museum, we passed the Old Ellicott City Farmers Market in Tiber Park. And there they were: Dangerous Pies!!! I dropped everyone off and parked about a quarter mile away in the big lot west of Old Columbia Pike. It's the biggest parking lot nearby, and free :-), or you can hunt through a couple of other nearby smaller free and paid lots. There's around ten vendors, fruits and veggies of course, flowers, fresh-baked breads, and fresh-roasted coffee beans and beverages. We got sandwiches from Le Table: a classic ham gruyere béchamel Croque Monsieur on soft sweet brioche, and a turkey egg cheese on flakey buttery croissant. Also a tender bacon egg and cheddar breakfast crepe from Crepe Shoppe. All of them were made with tasty fillings and fresh bread. We got a thick soft chocolate-chip oat cookie from Bitty Bread. And then our real target, the pies! We had tart sweet yellow (not-bright-green) key lime in a "yummy yummy" crumbly crust, and sweet apple in a flaky-crust as good as my grandma's (almost :-). Pies as good as they remembered from the wedding. Pie pie pie pie pie! We hadn't been to this market before. I think it started just last May! It's nice when guests remind you to visit cool local events like this. The Old Ellicott City Farmers Market runs Saturdays 9-1 until Oct 25th.
