I initially left a good review because I thought Ace Towing did me a solid by taking me to a…read moremechanic and helping me get home safely- but unfortunately things turned out differently. Turns out the tow truck driver took us to an unlicensed mechanic who wrongfully told us that my car was a total loss and tried to convince me to sell it to them for nothing. Luckily, I decided to have Ace towing take it ~300 miles back to my personal mechanic who found a way to save it by- wait for it-REPLACING THE BATTERY! I ended up having to file a claim with the California bureau of automotive repair to get the $1500 I spent on towing and diagnostics from the unlicensed mechanic they brought me to. Perhaps this was just a bad judgement call on the driver's part and not a purposeful attempt to collude with the mechanic and scam me out of a perfectly good vehicle... I'm not sure. But regardless of their intent, I think it's highly irresponsible of them to suggest and tow me to an unlicensed mechanic.
