I'm sold! Parker's Table is a great place to go for wine, especially if you know nothing about wine. My fiance and I wandered in on Saturday morning while walking the business district of Clayton. I've recently taken to drinking red wine for it's medicinal purposes, but know nothing about it. The lady working there quickly greeted us and was so happy to help us. She asked me what sort of taste I like in wine, and went from there with more questions before recommending a few wines. She then let us sample two wines [they have two you can sample on Saturdays], and we ended up buying both! I had always been too intimidated to go into a wine shop, but was made to feel at ease at Parker's. Not only that, but the wines she showed me weren't exorbitant in price. They have pricey wines, but they don't push them on you. They tailor their suggestions based on your tastes. I think anyone at any level of wine knowledge would be most pleased in shopping here. read more

What a lovely shop! I spent an early evening here as part of a work bonding experience and it was like an uber-relaxing happy hour. My actual Uber got us there almost half an hour late so we arrived to multiple meats, cheeses, nuts, and snacks spread out for us. As the night progressed we got to sample various wines and hear from one of the managers who led us on our journey. If you don't know where to begin when you come in, talk to the staff - they will surely be able to set you in the right direction. In between wine courses I did some exploring of the shop and loved the little details like the umbrellas hanging from the ceiling and the dollhouse in the closet (just trust me on this - it's somewhere between totally creepy and sweet for the kids). I also can't get over the adorable little delivery truck out front. If you find yourself at Parker's, be sure to pick up their honeyed fig spread - I am still thinking about it a month later. read more

Fun spot to grab a hard to find beer, or wine! if you need help pairing it with some fine cheese or crackers they have those too! The staff was super nice as we did a wine tasting. Lots of great info, and I learned a ton about wine! The snacks that came with the tasting were also awesome! As a vegan I did not get to try everything but even for little old me, there was plenty of salty snacks to consume while trying various glasses of wine from around the world! I noticed the pricing was a slight bit higher than your bargain store, but I didn't find it that to be an issue considering the convenience of the other items which are available here. I came upon Parker's Table by accident when looking to try Salume Beddu for lunch that is located in the back of their store. This is a wonderful specialty food and wine shop that you could get lost in for an hour easily while exploring all their unique products. I also love that they have a Missouri product display since I very much love buying local. While shopping make sure you get a sandwich at Salume Beddu I'm back they're to die for. This is the best little kept secret for lunch during the week. I wish I didn't have to go back to work! The sandwich's are made by the friendliest chief name Jay S . He always had a smile on his face! He's very hospitable and a fabulous sense of humor to go with the amazing selections!! The speck sandwich is so simple and delicious!! It pairs very well with their amazing tomato bisque soup! The had a rose tasting a few weeks ago and it was just divine! We love this little store. It's in a very cool old building, which was probably a market in the 30's and 40's (I seem to recall reading it was a Tom-Boy grocery at one time). Very inviting. They have a great selection of wine, cheeses and other specialty foods. I assumed everything would be high-priced, being in such a cool spot in Clayton (I think). We were pleasantly surprised to see a great selection of wines in all prices. They also had a few bottles open for tasting - all new to me and all very good. The staff was very knowledgeable on wines and got us to a few bottles in the style and price range we preferred. We didn't ask about anything else, but I'm guessing you wouldn't get a dumb look here. Really nice! Apparently, this place has been around for a few years, and I can't believe I never really noticed it until now. I was having a major craving for brie cheese (it's my new favorite thing right now!), so I decided to stop by to see what kinds of things they had. Sure...I knew I could go to Whole Foods and get some killer brie, but I prefer to support local businesses when I can. Anyway, I walked into the store, and it didn't take long until I was greeted by a friendly worker. He directed me towards the cheese counter, where the friendly guy asked me what I was looking for. They didn't have brie at the time; Camembert was all they had. I didn't think I had tried that before, so he gave me a sample. I fell in love, and bought 4 ounces of it (which is a surprisingly huge hunk!) for around 5 dollars. There was a huge basket full of really delicious tomatoes at the checkout counter, and before I left, the cashier gave me a few tomatoes free of charge. Really nice! I took off one star, because there are meters at the entrance where you have to pay for parking. I think that's kind of weird. read more

The staff here is truly amazing. The owner and employees greet me warmly every time I stop by and have even offered me wine before. We stopped in for a tasting on a Saturday afternoon and ended up taking home 3 bottles of goodness. A rose, Primativo and Cava. All so delightful and better yet, reasonably priced. Parkers Table offers a wide variety of wines and price points from around the world. They even offer fresh pasta that I'm looking forward to trying soon. What can I say about this place? Seriously, I love it. It's local, which is really nice. It has a great selection of wines and staff that is knowledgeable of the wines. It's got homemade pastas. It's got a good selection of cheese. They have a great selection of whiskey and some beer. To top all of this off, if you need to special order a wine (like me) they will do that for you. PS: I just found out that they could do this today and didn't try this time, so don't ask me how the process goes. I love all the options available and would love to try more of their selections of wines at some point in time. They give out samples every time you come in, so you can taste something and be inspired as to what to get. The day I went, they had a rose wine, which was a little dry at first but had a good flavor. I saw a couple of wines that I wanted to try here, but sadly my budget and purpose wasn't allowing me to buy for myself this time. Another time, I came in curious and got a pineapple mascato. That was really good. I loved it. The guy that was helping me was super awesome. He tried to look a few things up for me, which was really nice of him. I told him my wine problem and he started to look. He couldn't find any, but that's when he told me about the ordering thing. Day made. Parking is street, but don't let that stop you. Lovely little wine shop convenient for Demun, Richmond Heights, and Dogtown neighborhoods. I buy here over Schnuck's every time. John and Jon and the rest of the staff are super helpful, passionate, and knowledge about their carefully selected beers, wines, and liquors (and everything else in the store). First off: you think this is going to be really expensive. In fact, you might not even step into the place because you're thinking hoity-toity, budget-killer, probably pretentious. Actually, the prices are fine. Compare it with Schnucks (let alone Whole Foods) and you'll see you are getting your money's worth. Of course you won't find many of these items at Schnucks or even Whole Foods. Salume Bude meats? No way. Local cheeses plus artisanal cheeses from Italy and Spain? Not likely. The chocolate, the pasta - all are distinctive. Yes, some things are insanely expensive. But the owner is incredibly UN-pretentious and eager to find you stuff that fits your budget while stretching your palate. Go and this place will quickly become a (good) habit. read more

Great and smart! Perfect combination of customer service and community health focus. The usual great staff were there today and serving customers from an impromptu vestibule at the front of the store. They quickly served up all the great stuff that I routinely get from Parker's Table while carefully maintaining safe social distance. They quickly retrieved my order bagged it and took my credit card payment without any physical personal contact. With many thanks to Parkers Table our STL lockdown will be bearable. This place is amazing! It had been on my list forever and one summer evening finally led me to try it when I googled places that sold fresh cavatelli pasta and this was at the top of the list!
