Such a darling shop. Stopped in because I loved the exterior and the name, and loved all of the wine and cheeses that were inside! There is also this adorable side window that says speakeasy above it. They sell bottles of wine and cheese by weight, along with some other little things. They also sell wine by the glass and specialty beer cans. I purchased a $10 chocolate bar that was beautiful and had a completely different flavor profile than your average chocolate bar. The atmosphere is so upper echelon with a relaxed vibe, making me feel like almost royalty. I wish I lived in the area or had something like this near me because I could see myself being a regular!

I was in St.Louis to attend a family celebration for my wife's aunt who recently passed. One thing we always enjoy is ooey gooey butter cake. Usually, my mother in law would buy it at the grocery store, but the store outsourced it recently, and it isn't as good. My brother in law stopped in here and got one for us. It was exactly what we like. We borrowed his car the day we were flying out and visited the store to get some to take home. They have these cute little 3oz cakes in tiny foil pans wrapped up nicely with a tiny plastic spoon. We ended up buying a bunch of those to share with folk back home. One time at the airport, the TSA agent told us that gooey butter cake and provel cheese are the most frequent items they see folks taking from St. Louis. We had a slight wait while the wonderful lady behind the counter was making a few more cakes. We ended up taking two frozen ones instead of waiting, but were there long enough to have a great visit with her. She is a friend of the owner. Sadly I didn't get her name. She made us feel at home in the store. As we were leaving, several other customers started coming in. The whole little shopping strip was busy. I had a really hard time backing out of my space in my brother in law's monsterously huge car.

Also highly recommend the smoked shrimp, trout and the crab cakes. I could go on and on...so much goodness in there. The ambiance is a bit snug in there and it might be a bit overwhelming with all the amazing products, but so worth it. Take your time and stroll through. Service can be a bit tricky. Sometimes you need to wait in line at the beginning of the deli area but if want meat of fish you need to wait in that area.. But they are always running at full speed

While you wait for your made-to-order sandwich, shop around for cheeses, sauces, breads, meats, honey, sweet treats, pickles, and so much more. My BBQ pulled pork sandwich was delicious and so was the turkey reuben sandwich too. They had too many yummy sides to pick from, but the pasta salad and broccoli salad I tried first were so good. I cannot wait to go back so I can keep trying all of the delicious options they serve up.

It is also nice they offer half's and full sandwiches so you can try multiple half sandwiches! I've tried the Mississippi River, Phil and cheds, and the Alcatraz. There wasn't that much line when I went, they take your other at the kiosk by the bar. They have a large assortment of sandwiches, comes in whole OR half (which is half the price of a whole). I ordered 2 half sandwiches, "The Meatball" and "The Steak Out". It didn't take long at all to make my sandwiches and they also have options to customize specialty sandwiches if specific toppings are wanted. The Steak Out was the 1st sandwich tried, and was the best one out of the two. The steak was cooked medium rare but isn't too rare at all or overcooked past that if you are worried about that either. Not only that, but the jalapenos and the pepper mayo are to die for, and they didn't completely soak it in sauce (which is a common concern as well). Everything tastes so freshly made, with half a sandwich honestly being more than enough for 1 sitting. Overall rating 8.9/10. The Meatball was very good as well, meatballs were cooked well throughout and tender to the bite. I am not completely mad at the Baguette being the bread of choice but they couldn't have went wrong with ciabatta neither. It was a very solid sandwich, nothing too extraordinary but nothing I can really complain about neither. Overall rating 8.3/10. In past visits, I have also tried the Enzo Gorlomi (basically a spicy italian) which I thought was better than both sandwiches I tried during that visit, but I may be biased because I love spicy italian sandwiches. Should still try though in my opinion. All in all, I would definitely come back to this place when I'm in the area, pricing is pretty good for the food amount and quality you are getting. Vibes are cool in there, they seem like a business with a lot of experience doing what they do. I wouldn't say they are the absolute best in St. Louis... yet, but they are definitely up there for sure. They are also open until 1:30AM Tues - Sat so its a great late night option.
