I Came here to get my car check and they wanted to over charge me and add on thing that my car didn't need and I declined the service because It was way to expensive and when I left the person in the of said a rude sarcastic comment just because I didn't like their price and before I left he said another comment I thought this places was professional they even said I wasn't able to make it home and I did and I went with another mechanic and got that price and my car fixed And To DAVE I made it home . read more

A few days ago a young friend told me his car had a radiator leak and he asked if I could recommend someone in Deforest to diagnose the leak. He is a young 18-year old college kid who had never been to a mechanic. I recommended Parks Automotive as I have been to them several times and have been happy with them. Yesterday he told me Parks Automotive charged him $175 for the diagnosis. The mechanic mentioned he had radiator fluid in his oil and diagnosed the leak as either the head gasket or a cracked cylinder head. He also said the repair expense wouldn't be feasible for such an old car that has over 275,000 miles on it. I feel $175 is extremely high, so I just did a quick Google search of "my oil has radiator fluid in it." The top hit stated, "If you have a broken or damaged head gasket, you can expect your oil and coolant to start mixing. Oil and coolant can also end up mixing if your engine overheats and either destroys the gasket or cracks the cylinder head." That was the mechanic's exact diagnosis. Earlier today I ran into a good farmer friend of mine and told him about the ordeal and mentioned the radiator fluid in the oil. His immediate response, without a moment's hesitation, was" it's the head gasket--every mechanic knows that." He was also appalled at the $175 charge. Parks Automotive took advantage of the young man and overcharged him for a diagnosis that likely didn't take them more than a few minutes as Google and a farmer friend both came to the same conclusion in less than a minute. I also think the mechanic should have given the young man a ballpark figure beforehand, especially since he is so young. I am certain the young kid wouldn't have agreed to anything over $50 since the car is so old; in fact, even $50 would have been outrageous for a 2-minute diagnosis. The young man likely didn't ask about the price beforehand only because he trusted my recommendation. I feel horrible and responsible for recommending Parks Automotive. Now the young man is carless and also out $175. I will not be recommending them to anyone else and will look elsewhere for my future mechanical needs. read more

Brought my car here for a the first time for an oil change, they checked everything else out with the car for free and called me to ask if i wanted any of the problems, they saw, fixed and told me the price before doing anything. They also filled my wiper fluid for free which was a wonderful surprise! Pete was the front desk man and was very nice and easy to work with! Lifesavers! While heading north on Interstate 39, we decided to make a pit stop in DeForest for lunch. When we left the restaurant I noticed a large tray of some sort hanging down from the underside of my SUV. It was dragging on the ground making it unsafe to return to the highway. Someone recommended Parks Automotive. They were so nice. They helped us immediately and didn't even charge us for removing the large plate that had been improperly reattached after my last oil change. They were great! I always hate going to technicians because I feel like everyone is trying to rip me off or make me feel dumb when I ask a question, but not these guys! All the years of taking my car places, this is #1. Never had mechanics call me with repair options like Parks does---an example is when my brakes were sounding bad and they looked at them. Parks told me that since I said I was trading the car in soon then let the trade in dealer worry about it and save myself $. The brakes still had some life left. I had a flat tire after running something over in the road and called Parks Automotive for help. They were extremely friendly and helpful. I was a few miles away and they sent someone over immediately. They fixed my flat tire right away and were extremely informative as to if my tire would be fixable. That was speedy service and I appreciate it as I was just leaving work and had a hour to spare before my second job and made it in time! I broke down 1/2 way from MN to MI, fortunately Parks' Automotive was the next exit. They were very open to an alternative way to repair the issue instead of following the dealers outrageous recommended repair. I left my Touareg there and continued on my way with a rental car. Even though they were on reduced hours due to the x-mas holiday, the repair was completed for a very reasonable price in time to pick my vehicle up on the return home. On November 14th my car started misfiring when I was taking my daughter to school. I called Parks telling them that I had alignment issues that were frightening me and that the engine problems started that morning. I took my car in and they told me immediately that my ignition coils were the problem. Car would be good after that. After doing $700 worth of work to my 14-year old car, they told me that it'd be an additional $1600 to make my car road-worthy. A GOOD mechanic would look at all of the problems described without starting work. Parks knew that if they told me it's be over $2,000 to fix my car, I wouldn't have had them do anything. I was advised to stop payment because Parks was known to do this to women. I had to use the money to have a reputable person fix my car without railroading me. I intended to give them SOMETHING for their work when I got some money, but before I could, they charged me with theft and fraud. Stay far, far away from this place. I have talked with several other DeForest residents who had a similar experience. Don't let this happen to you or anyone you care about. read more
