Our Civic's corroded exhaust pipe became disconnected under the car, just before the muffler. So the exhaust was being expelled underneath the cabin. Also, the car was loud. This happened on a Saturday afternoon. Amazingly, Speedy was open Sunday, and Joe was able to take me. After inspecting the undercarriage, he explained the options. I got a quote from insurance for a stolen catalytic converter. it wasn't terrible, sort of in line with a typical stolen cat from my car model. Thing is, the guy or gal who stole mine cut it in a very inconvenient spot, so the cost to fix was higher. Somehow, the guys at Speedy charged me less than the insurance quote. This is after another shop said it would be a lot more. Speedy also fixed it in a day, most of that time was spent waiting for another NO sensor to arrive, which they didn't even charge me for, as they did not anticipate it in their original quote. I normally don't do reviews but this I am. Sent my son in to have some 3" stainless steel exhaust pipe to have bent with S curves. They crushed the pipe on the bend so bad its not possible to use. When I got home I saw how horrible it was. Asked my son did they replace it & he said no. I called & asked if they were going to replace it & he said no. I said you messed it up you should replace it. He said well it was stainless not regular exhaust pipe. Told him being an exhaust shop you should know if you can bend stainless or not. It took my dealer 3 times to find the cause of a very irritating rumble. They found me it was a bent exhaust pipe rubbing on the bumper, which it was. My choice was either buy a new exhaust system for $1700, that was still perfectly fine, or a strap to hold in place. I tried the strap, ($90). That didn't work. Stopped here, and while I waited a short time, they cut, welded and reposistioned the pipes for a great price. Saved me over a thousand and lots of time! If I ever do need a new muffler, I'm going back there. read more

I don't speak car, which means every time I walk into a car repair shop, there's a neon sign above my head that reads, "I won't know you're ripping me off." I have no doubt the guys at Speedy saw this blinking neon but they looked the other way and did the right thing, the honest thing. The muffler on my trusty Ford Escape had disconnected from the exhaust pipe due to some rusty bolts, so I begrudgingly searched the Internet for repair shops nearby. I dropped my car off here at 8am on a Thursday, Steve called with an estimate of a mere $65 by 12:30pm and by 1pm it was ready for pick-up. I talked to the guy at the counter about the good reviews I'd read on them. He spoke of the appreciation they have for their customers and desire to do right by 'em. I couldn't be happier, not only did they work with the dealership I bought it from for payment, they put the new resonator on in less the 20 mins. Not only did Speedy look at my brakes for free, they also told me that they were in great shape and just needed an adjustment, which they also did for FREE. In just one hour, I went from expecting to shell out $300 to driving home with the peace mind knowing my brakes are in great shape, and it didn't cost a dime! When he took my tires off he called me into the work area and showed me that I did need break pads and rooters. I asked them if they could take a look at my air conditioner, when I turn it on my passenger carpet would get wet. He said that it is probably a hose that just needs to be blown out. I would highly recommend this repair shop. My car started sounding like a rocket ship, so first thing on Saturday morning I took my wheels to Speedy. I was nervous about not having an appointment, but that wasn't an issue! Steve said they'd have a look and would call me with an estimate before they started repairing. Less than an hour later he called and provided an estimate along with an explanation of the problem. He called again once the repair was complete. I came in because my "check brake light" was on! Ugh - I was bracing myself for an expensive repair when I came in, but the guys took my car for a drive, popped it up on the lift and brought me back to look at the brakes. I went here only because of the Yelp reviews-- hadn't even heard of it. My boyfriend had my car yesterday and called to tell me it sounded like a Harley Davidson. Great... VROOM VROOM was right. I knew right away it was something with the exhaust system but I had no idea what. I took it here to Speedy this morning. Needless to say, I didn't need to tell them why I was there. The problem announced itself as I vroomed in. I went to "check in" on facebook and wrote the sentence "Let's see if they're as speedy as they say"and before I finished the sentence, they had me come out to show me the broken exhaust line. Holy speedy!!! They told me most places would try to sell me a whole new exhaust system but all I needed was a new exhaust line. Wait for an estimate... They came back 3 minutes later. They could replace the part today for $300 because their supply shop had closed or I could come back on Monday and pay $240 because their parts store they contract with would be open then. They gave me a choice to save even more money. I opted for a Monday return. They told me it will take 20-30 minutes. They're speedy, respectful of women, didn't try to get me to replace things that didn't need to be replaced, and gave me the option to save a little more money by coming back later. I could not possibly be more impressed. As other have said, this is a no frills shop. No WiFi. No air conditioning. No TV's or snacks. Just a few chairs with the doors open and a breeze but I don't mind. A nice, honest fix of my car is all i wanted. Very impressed. Will recommend to friends and family. read more

This place is fantastic. I had an issue with my muffler as it was making a very low, rumbling sound. I felt I was getting a back massage when I drove. Called up Speedy and spoke with Joe. He said it would be about $195. Sounded reasonable, so I setup a time to take it in. I dropped it off around 1:30 pm and he called 20 minutes later saying it needed a new muffer and it would be about $125. Of course, I said go ahead. 30 minutes later, the car was done. Absolutely great service. The shop doesn't have a fancy waiting area, 42 inch LCDs, a customer service person working the counter, etc. Just the real mechanics doing work and charging a fair price. I was told by another mechanic that I needed my flex pipe replaced because a bracket had broken. I called around and Speedy's quoted me the lowest to replace the flex pipe. Brought it in around 9 am. They called me at 930 to let me know they don't need to replace the whole pipe, just need to attach the pipe to the car for 1/4 of the original price. Care was ready by 10:30. The man said "just bring it in on Tuesday morning and we'll fix them for you," after telling me what it would cost, a price I thought very reasonable, as it was less than half what the Honda dealer wanted. I had a slow start this morning, as my back is very much out of whack, and didn't get there until about 10:30. By 11:30, the work was done, at the price quoted, and I'm happy, very happy. I took my 2002 Mini Cooper hear to get the exhaust replaced. The dealership quoted me almost $1000 for a new exhaust, and Speedy was able to get me a nice salvage and put it on for a grand total of $375. Saved myself a LOT of money going to Speedy, and they had it done in only a few hours. They also were able to custom bend me an exhaust pipe a few years back for my 1989 Toyota Corolla that no one had parts for, and that was very inexpensive too. Honest, fast, and dependable. I took my car in today to get its breaks fixed (my foot almost had to go to the floor to stop). Dropped my car off at 8:00 right when they opened and asked them to call me with a quote before anything is fixed. Received a call around 8:30 saying that they looked at the breaks and I didn't need any parts, just needed some cleaning of my breaks and realigning them-$85 fix :) received another call at 9:30 saying my car was all fixed and I could come pick it up.
