The place has beautiful very fresh tasty fruits and veggies. Not cheap- but so much better then the supermarkets.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS Check your receipt! They attempted to charge me twice on an item then say they didn't so when I asked for the receipt it clearly said on it that I was charged twice for ONE item. Then they act dumbfounded on not sure what to do next, which is simply void and ring me up again the correct way but what I did was I went back to that item they charged me twice for and took a second one. I had to explain to them why this would cancel out. They attempted to apologize but lost me as a customer over a measly $4. (its never about the money, its the principle). The owner of this store is disgusting and verbally abuses his customers. I watched him yell at a customer who was asking him a question about the size of a platter. I tried to step in and explain to the owner that she wasn't questioning his prices and then he began yelling at me that if I want to set prices, I should open my own business and he doesn't need any of us as customers. Never going back there again. He doesn't even deserve one star but I can't submit my review without awarding him one. read more

This place is so simple. Need some fresh fruits/veggies/flowers? Don't want to hit the supermarket? Come here. They literally have nothing else. What they do serve happens to be pretty good. Sure, buying a fruit/veggie platter is never economical, but it makes for a quick party/holiday gift. They've saved the day for me on numerous occasions (this Mothers Day was one). There is an occasional holiday line, but you'll hear the owners yelling out orders at each other and it makes for good line banter. So there's that. This is by far the best place to buy fresh cut up fruit! It's the only place that has perfect mango, mango you can't trust. They have great cut up carrots and other fruits and veggies. Definitely not cheap, but it's good and you will eat it! They have great fruit and veggie platters for special occasions. Excellent ginger dressing for salads . I have gone a few times now to pick up fruit and fruit bowls. The fruit is so ripe and delicious, although it is pricier. They are one of the few places to offer chopped fruit in different sizes but I find people eat more of it so there is less waste. read more

My wife and I have been customers on a weekly basis for two decades. However the owner has become hostile and belligerent. He screamed at her and then proceeded to throw her out of the store. When I went to question him about it he threw me out of the store, followed me outside and threatened to punch me. Upon entering the store you look around and start selecting your choices. The owner and his sister watch you closely as they want you to take what is now on top instead of choosing the freshest piece that probably was rotated to the bottom. They make you feel uncomfortable. While I was there one day I heard a woman bring back strawberries with a receipt from the prior day commenting that they were moldy. The owner said to her no, you may not have credit or return it "go buy your fruit elsewhere" The owner is rude and I would not recommend this place at all. read more

This is a high quality grocer. I've been going here for a while now. Although it is high price, it is also high quality, and if shopping for just one person, it is not so bad. The fruits and vegetables are high quality and fresh, and they supply a large addition of groceries one might need in a pinch, such as milk, eggs, cheese, salami, soda, and canned beans. They also have condiments. Overall, it is quite high end in price, but this is America and you get what you pay for. read more

Been coming here for years. They know how to pick fruits and veggies! I have interacted with the owner a few times, sure a little gruff but helpful and polite, of course you likely get what you give. I've never had to return something so i've no idea how he would react to that, but on the other hand his stuff is never anything but fresh and tasty. My favorites? Strawberries the size of Mars, bananas that have a taste telling me they just hit ripe, and tomatoes all kinds, fresh off the vine taste. read more

I purchased a fruit platter to bring to a friends BBQ...it was inedible. The pineapple was brown and the melon were hard like potatoes. The grapes weren't sweet and the watermelon was sour. I brought the platter back the next day and the owner (Woo) was so rude. I explained to him that the fruit just wasn't good and how dissatisfied I was. He opened up the platter in front of me and started taking bites of melon and kept saying "how do you not think this is sweet". He also told me I was "nuts" for thinking the fruit wasn't good. He got very defensive...never apologized or offered me anything. He just kept arguing with me insisting that his fruit was sweet and that I was crazy for bringing it back. He did all of this in front of other customers..I was appalled. I ended up telling him he can keep the fruit and walked out of the store. He didn't say a word. I will NEVER go back to this place again. I'm a business owner and would never treat a customer that way. Their customer service is horrifying. Rude rude rude !!! read more

Very pricey and does not warrant the exorbitant price tag for produce. Today I purchased a large container of sliced fruit to bring to a friend's home (along with sliced vegetables because that friend buys her produce there and I know she enjoys it. Four of us having lunch agreed the fruit was soggy and not sweet. My friend, the Host, wrapped it back up and told me to return it after lunch and to speak to "Ou" the owner. His wife was there (he was not) and I nicely told her the story and she angrily opened it up and started trying every slice of fruit. She said "Winter fruit not so sweet but it good enough". After eating some herself, she refused to refund me the cash I paid & she then weighed it, and subtracted $5 off the price I paid for the fruit and did not care that I spent a lot more money on additional cut up veggies and dip. She charged me for bad fruit that was thrown away and for the fruit she ate! Very rude and bad business. Plainview, & Hicksville peeps-don't give them your business. In there eyes "Customer is always wrong". Cut your own fruit and vegetables it's worth knowing it is flavorful and fresh. read more

Unfortunately the minimum amount of stars is 1. My wife purchased a fruit platter that upon opening that night were embarrassed to serve because of how mushy much of it was. Called the next day and was told by an employee to bring it back that day. When my wife said we have a young child and probably couldn't get back until the next day, she said to bring it in as soon as you can. When calling the following day to speak with the owner, Lou, was told they have a 24 hour policy on cut fruit (no problem if we were originally told that from employee) and he refused to do anything about it. In this day and age, the places that succeed are the ones who acknowledge that the customer is always right and make good, even if an employee may not have stated their policy in advance. I bet if you shop there you are not surprised by his moodiness which borders on nasty. It was so ridiculous and uncalled for. Fruit is usually very good but a bit pricey.

I always felt that one should support all local business. For over a decade I have purchased all my fruits and vegetables from Parks. However, in spite of my years of being a loyal customer, the owner treated my like a piece of garbage. I had been ill and was unable to place my Christmas order in a timely fashion. I went into the store around 7:30 am on Christmas Eve, and explained my situation. I asked him if he could prepare a fruit platter for me that i could pick up after 1 pm. He screamed at me that it was late notice. I told him that I had been ill. I also stated that I had been a customer for years. He literally screamed and said to me "I don't care if you have been coming here for years!" I was completely taken aback. I will never patronize Parks NASTY Farm again. read more

I stopped into this store 2 days before Thanksgiving to see if I needed to pre-order a fruit bowl for the holiday - and was told no -just come in. When I went in on Thanksgiving morning there was a line of 15-18 people. I waited patiently for about 15 minutes but when I got near the front I was told there were no more fruit bowls available. I tried to explain in an even tone of voice that this was unacceptable and suddenly the male owner came out from the back and started literally screaming and cursing in my face that they've been up working for 24 hours and how dare I talk to his staff that way. He refused to listen to what I had to say about being told that I didn't have to pre-order. Suddenly someone put down 1 fruit bowl and I picked it up plus another container of fruit and paid ($38.00) with a credit card. The owner came back out again - resumed screaming at me and grabbed my 2 bags of fruit out of my hand and told me I couldn't have it and demanded that I give him my credit card so he could refund my money. When I refused ( not wanting to look for another store that was open on the holiday) and demanded he give me back my purchases - he finally did and threw my receipt at me. I have never been treated so poorly - and was mortified that a store full of people witnessed this. I will never go back there and ironically the fruit bowl was not even good! read more
