It has a decent selection of wine and booze, and a good one for beer. If you want more craft beers, check out the "sister" store down past the rotary, "SoCo Wine and Beer". I didn't give it 5 stars because even though they're really nice and friendly, the staff don't know a lot about beer, wine, and booze (if you want someone knowledgeable, go to the "sister" store I mentioned above; owned by the same family--at least, as of this writing). Also, a lot of bottles don't have prices on them, which can be inconvenient if you're shopping within a price range. However, I'm a fairly regular customer when we're in the area. Cheers!

Ten minutes later, our server said there was a problem. What? The bartender told her there was no entry on the computer for a drink with both vodka and gin. She tried to steer me to another drink. I told her that I and others have been drinking a split Martini for at least 50 years. I told her that wasn't my problem, it was theirs. They figured it out. Also, they were embarrassed to report that they had no crab dishes of any sort. This was January, so, while I understand that live crabs are still sleeping at the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay (that the restaurant sits on the edge of) we all know there are many sources of crab meat. Even if frozen properly (not in a frost-free freezer) the crab will not suffer a lot. Then, there are also crabs from the Gulf of Mexico. Other than these two challenges -- one solved, one not -- it was a nice first visit. I did find that the lighting over the bar -- individual unshaded bulbs -- were hard on my eyes from our table in the dining room, but I just moved to the other side of the table. Problem solved. Whenever my wife and I visit a restaurant or bar for the first time, whether we are there by ourselves or--in this case--treated to a meal by our favorite neighbors--I can count on her to sort through, heed, and pick up on every nuance in every aspect of culinary service that is there to be sensed. In this case, at the Dockside Restaurant & Sports Bar at 421 Deale Road in Maryland, the food was mostly wonderful, and the prices were more than reasonable for this economy. What prevents Dockside from receiving at least four stars was primarily the service. Two orders of fries, one sweet potato and one regular, weren't hot; and although our waitress reluctantly brought one of the orders back to exchange it for a new batch, the fries didn't taste any warmer. Our other host ordered his crabcake lightly-fried, only for it to be brought out broiled. He still enjoyed it, but it wasn't exactly what he wanted or ordered. By the end of the meal, it became obvious that, if we return, we need to ask for Sarah, who, although she was tending the bar and wasn't even our waitress, still brought one of our neighbors a fresh cup of Pepsi Zero that she could take on our return trip home. Sarah also exhibited a great sense of humor, an attentiveness and an attention to detail, and, most importantly, remembered with pleasure our hosts, who have dined there frequently. Apart from the pumpkin cheesecake, which was so infused with nutmeg and pumpkin spice that even Linus from Peanuts couldn't have tasted the pumpkin, and the lukewarm fries, our meals were terrific. I arrived around 2 pm, and was directed to an outlying parking lot. A shuttle bus took people to the museum (after about a 15 minute wait to add more passengers) & admission to the festival was $10. They were selling wine for $5 and beer from Forward Brewing. You could get a plate of oysters from Skippers Pier and there were several other food vendors. They had live music in two places. The views are great. I enjoyed one sign & map that showed exactly what the landmarks are across the water, from Beverly Beach, Thomas Point, the Bay Bridge, etc. There was such a big crowd that I did not tour the inside of the museum, but I will definitely go back.
