Meatloaf was so dam good, I skipped desert .... Needs more characters .. more characters.. got it

This was a great meal on a busy Friday evening. Our server, Paul, took exceptional care of us, bringing hot bread, refills and constantly checking to see if we needed anything. I had grilled fresh swordfish and my wife had grilled salmon. My swordfish was the best I have ever eaten, and I have had it in dozens of seafood restaurants. My wife said hers was tasty and served hot. The property is well maintained and there were managers constantly moving around, keeping an eye on things. The restaurant looks great on the inside with its low lighting. The smell I got when I walked in was the light odor of cleaning bleach which is not the worst thing to smell. So I like they keep the place clean. I did smell it quite a bit during dinner though. The other off putting item for me involved the salmon dinner I got and a salad which came with it. I added some shaved chicken to my salad as that was an option for a modest up charge. The waitress informed me because I added the grilled chicken I would get a large salad. To that I said, I didn't want a large salad but she said she could bring a box with it so I could take the extra home. Hmmm. When my dining partner's salad came out my salad was not delivered which I thought was odd. I told him to eat. Maybe my salad was delayed because of the grilled chicken. Well, no. They delivered my salad with my entree. So that was weird and not expected. The salad was okay but they could have easily added my shaved chicken to the normal side salad they serve. Both salads have potato sticks on them...like potato chips on your salad. I'm not a huge fan. I couldn't finish my salad, didn't want to finish my salad and didn't take it home. It was weird having two dinner sized plates of food delivered to me after my dining partner had already eaten his salad and he just got a regular single plate of food. It seems that Aubrey's does not understand dining. I took my wife for dinner. I ordered just a salad to be brought out when my wife's entree was served. Wife had a pasta meal and a side salad. Waitress brought out her salad and less than one minute later she brought out her main entree. Of course it was cold by the time she finished her salad. I asked for water with lemon, wife asked for water with no lemon. Both glasses had lemon. There were two bread plates on the table. I finally asked the waitress if she was going to bring bread (entree on the table by now). "Only is you want me to." What?? Waitress kept interrupting our meal by asking questions or taking our salad bowl or feeling the need to pick up a fork off of the floor under our table left by the previous customer. No offer of a dessert menu, just brought our bill before my wife was barely half done with her cold entree. Server tried to take the bread away before we were done. She brought me a second water with no lemon. When will Aubrey's train their servers? We don't complain because we don't want an incident where someone gets offended and contaminates our meal. I hope management reads this and stops their servers from trying to rush their customers and trains the servers on how to properly sequence a meal so that it is hot when the customer is ready for it. The service was extremely slow. Inside wait was 45 to 55 minute wait. Outside was right way. We sat outside. They were seating the tables in the sun first. You had to ask to be put in the shade. The tables in the shades were empty. The server took our drink order right away. When he returned with our drinks he took our food order. It took 40+ minutes to get our food. The server came to our table multiple times. But he would not fill up any empty glass without being told too. We asked for regular butter instead of the sweet butter 3 times. Each time he brought the sweet butter. The food was really good. But not worth waiting 40+minutes after we order it good. Setting people in the sun instead of shade terrible. Server not feeling up empty glasses own his own terrible. Speed of food was terrible. Server not understanding the difference in type of butter terrible. read more

Very sad to say food quality has gone downhill. Ordered a garden salad wilted not fresh cucumbers. Turkey sandwich was disgusting worst pressed fake turkey meat I have ever had. Such a waste of money. The server was very unpleasant I was bothering her just being there. You need to do better. read more

First time dining at an Audrey's and was overall not a good experience. I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken and it was very bland and underseasoned. I honestly couldn't taste any seasonings whatsoever in anything I ate there. The crust fell off the chicken while cutting into it also. The chicken itself wasn't dry so I'll give them that. Thankfully I got the gravy on the side because it was utterly tasteless. I got the smashed yukon gold potatoes as a side and my first impression after tasting it was that it reminded me of the instant potatoes I made as a teenager when that was all I knew how to cook. As for service, no happy greeting when I entered or thanks when I left. The server was nice enough though. The atmosphere seemed depressing. The worst part of the dining experience was noticing the dust everywhere. You can see it on the big signs by the booths and on the ceiling. Made me wonder if the place ever gets a thorough cleaning. I rated two stars because my daughter had the grilled salmon tacos and said they were good. Although the guac did not taste fresh. She also said the mac n cheese side tasted like the refrigerated stuff you can get at the grocery store. It was like eating in a cafeteria except dustier. I won't return. Not even to the other locations as they probably all use the same preprepared food. read more

I eat here at least once during a visit to Knoxville (ANY location). I always get the filet bites with potato dumplings & kaie salad (with salmon if I'm HUNGRY). Tried the turtle cake tonight. Not a fan. Not NEARLY enough chocolate. :( But I'll be back... don't usually have ROOM for dessert. ;P read more

Aubrey's is always consistent, great service, food is well cooked. Wing specials Wednesday is great, Prime Rib Friday portions are huge. Half price wine on Saturday and a couple of apps make for a good time with friends for a couple of hours. Great patio with dogs welcomed outside. Wait times at this location at 6pm have become an issue because Powell has grown so much. If you don't want to wait try and find a couple of seats at the bar - bar is open seating (table tops in the bar are not.) Menu is getting a bit stale, could use a change up. I get a steak here every few weeks, and if you go later in the evening, say, 8pm, even on a weekend it's virtually empty in there and everything is fast and delicious. In contrast, 2 days ago on a Thursday I had dinner here with my dad, we met at 5:45 (I was late, I got there at 6 ) and most small tables were on a wait, but since there were 5 of us we(they) only had about a ten minute wait. Pretty much any day before 7:30, this place is packed. TBH, it's weird. ANYWAYS- the other day around 6 pm on a Thursday, they were very busy and I tried the lemon lime chicken with rice and the creamed spinach since I've seen references to it being a favorite and I don't want to be that jerk who orders steak when dad gets the check. 2ppl ordered patty melts, one person ordered something off menu, kinda like non-breaded chicken tenders grilled with a spicy brown sauce, recommended by the waiter, who was great, and my husband got the kale salad. We then in a true family fashion swapped bits of food around throughout the meal as if it were tapas, so in turn I tried everything that we ordered. Now- do keep in mind these are within the parameters of what you'd expect from Aubrey's, an average restaurant with American fare that's better than most chain restaurants of its ilk, but a chain just the same. The vibe is fine. The food is fine. The service is great. Patty melt & fries: awesome, my nephew couldn't eat all of his so I got half of it, great bread, great fries, delicious. Weird grilled chicken tenders with some sorta spicy brown glaze on 'em: THE BEST. Tender chicken, delicious sauce, a mystery to behold and too spicy for my stepmom but completely gobbled up by myself and my spouse. Big fans Lemon lime chicken: terrible. Dry, hard and chewy, minimal flavor (couldn't cut it with a fork and took some effort with a knife) and the rice was old and overcooked. Bad. Blech. My dad, however, possibly conditioned by years of MRE's from his drill sergeant days, absolutely loved the chicken and ate ALL OF IT, like, he loved it. He kept talking about how good it was. So- lol idk on that one. Kale salad- wowowowow. Delicious. Exciting. Sweet, tangy, kale in its best most friendly form, wonderful feta and cranberries and the vinaigrette it comes with- STELLAR. Yum yum yum so good Usually we get medium rare steaks and broccoli and the steaks are cooked perfectly, if a little low on salt, spices, etc. but some people say that's how you should cook a steak, to that I say, pshaw. I get the filet and the dude gets the ribeye, they are consistently good. The broccoli is all in one chunk which is weird but we eat it. Sometimes I get an amaretto sour and they look at me like I'm crazy, which makes me feel crazy. Am I crazy? I like amaretto sours. I'm not trying to get drunk, and that's good bc you definitely won't get drunk from 2 amaretto sours at this Aubrey's. If you ARE trying to get drunk, go to a bar dude. KUDOS and thanks to Kaley for deliveringquality supreme customer service as well as being the most caring bartender I have ever met! Today's specials at the Aubrey's was $2.00 off Draft Beer so I chose to drink Stella Artois and my friend got an Yuenling. As a starter we shared the Sausage and Pimento Cheese Dip. It was a smoked sausage Sliced with house made Pimento Cheese Dip and homemade crackers. This was particularly are favorite as the Pimento Dip was the star. As suggested by Kaley we both decided to order the Grilled Salmon Tacos paired with a bowl of Loaded Baked Potato Soup with Bacon and Sour Cream. The Salmon Tacos were mighty tasty topped with Pico de Gallo. The Potato Soup was perfect and very silky to the palette. I highly recommend you all come to Audrey's and take a seat at the bar! read more

A Ruined celebration. It was an evening to celebrate my wife's birthday with a family dinner at Aubrey's. We ordered. Meals were brought out by servers different from our main female server. My 1/2 club with honey mustard on the side was served without honey mustard. Male server of Asian decent was behind me and to my right placed my plate and asked if everything looked correct and immediately walked away. As he walked away, I said "excuse me..." Server returns: "What do you want, I have to go. I have other tables to serve!" (Spoken with attitude. ) Me: "Ok fine. Are we not important to you?" Server: "What do you want?" (More attitude.) Me: "I asked for honey mustard on the side." Server: "Fine..". And abruptly walks away" A different server brings my honey mustard. I've never been treated so rudely by a wait staff person. I was upset and my wife was upset as well. It pretty much ruined our evening. If I ever come back it won't be for a long time. The server that took our orders and took care of us during the meals was fine. I left her a good tip in spite of the male's rude behavior. Food was just ok. read more

Blah blah blah! Truly don't see the appeal other than atmosphere. The staff is very kind but the food is substandard. Been here multiple times and it's cold every time & lacking flavor. You know when the parking lot is full and people are parking on the grass to wait for a table you must be at the right place. The food is terrific, the service is great and the ambiance is anything from family friendly to date night. The reuben sandwich was perfect. The chicken tenders are huge. Ordered here twice, both online through their website , first time I ordered a burger, taste was fantastic with the exception that the request i made for condiments and bread were left out, really not a big deal but if you have a section for comments and request at least read them and fulfill them. Now for the second order, horrible, burger was smaller than a mcdonalds burger, half my burger cooked other half burnt, did not receive condiments , or anything I requested, tried to call back and received no answer. No way to check the burger without dismantling it when picking up my order. It a shame, love their other locations. read more

How have I not reviewed Aubrey's and their Thick Cut Potatoes?! I'm a self diagnosed potato connoisseur, these are up there in my top 3! 5 of us fought over the last one. The potatoes are very thick cut, fried to perfection and the dipping sauce, so yummy! I loved my Salmon Tacos! Delightful! Meatloaf was another big hit. I really don't understand why this place is so busy. This was our first time here and it was a very poor experience. The Prime rib special was very tough (when you are forced to cut the steak in thin strips just to chew it you know we are not talking a very good piece of meat). The wife's chicken breast was flavorful but extremely dry. My daughter's Mahi mahi special was also very dry. On the positive side, the sides of squash casserole and Mac & cheese were the best parts of the meals. Unfortunately, the service we experienced was not much better. Our waitress was obviously not trained. She did not know the daily specials (even though they are posted at the door). She did not tell us what they were. We had to ask. When we asked for some details on one daily special entree she told us that she had to ask someone (which was fine), but when she returned we found out that wasn't even the day's special. Also she did not understand that soup and salad comes with entrees. When I asked about that she tried to sell me a side salad. I explained the people sitting next to us ordered the same entree and got a choice of soup or salad. She had to check and I was right. I blame management for allowing an untrained waitress wait on tables without knowing the menu. I don't see any reason to return. Don't know why anyone would with subpar food and the service staff untrained. read more

It was such a hot and humid night we stopped in for dinner. The atmosphere was hopping and the staff was very accommodating. We asked for two ice waters immediately and the waitress brought them to us and refilled them asap. The mushroom burger was so juicy and flavorful, just like one you would grill in your backyard. The kale salad was colorful, flavorful and very filling! The loaded baked potato was delicious! I also want to say the bartender made an excellent dirty martini which is really a skill to find the balance of vodka and flavor. Not everyone can do that so hats off! We will Be back!! read more

We go to Aubrey's a lot and everything is so good and the service is good too but the last time I was there I saw some thing that bothered me I woman bought a bottle of wine and she had two kids with her and before she left she asked if she could take the bottle of wine with her and they let her in a plastic bag . When we got there it wasn't too crowded but when we left it was out the door. I think they need more room to park we had to drive around three times before we got a place . read more
