    The pool at Parkway.

I've been a part of the "parent and tots" class 3x now. This summer, the instructors were better than ever. We got lucky with an instructor named Sara. She was really good with all the kids in the class, and took time to help every child during our 1/2 hr class. My daughter learned a lot and loved it so much that we signed her up for another class. The pool is heated and really clean. The whole staff is really nice and helpful as well. Only negative is the condition of the showers, changing areas, and restrooms. They probably haven't been updated since the 80's. But other than that... It's a great facility with great staff.

This aquatic center is great for affordable swim lessons. Several classes for different ages & to fit your schedule. The staff are friendly and organized. The facilities are maintained clean and in working order. The pool is very large & it holds several swim classes & high school water polo practice. Personal lot or street parking available. Check out their classes online or in office.

Excited & terrified about my first adult swimming class that will start at 10 a.m. .

First of all I'm terrified of the water so basically I'm a 41 year old woman that can't swim in San Diego. I decided to sign up for their summer swim classes which meets up four consecutive Saturdays for the month that you signed up for. I completed my third swimming lesson today and for the first time in my life I went across the swimming pool all by myself with the assistance of the kick board. I have to give credit where credit is due to my swim instructor, Riley. He was so patient with me and dealt with my fear of putting my face in the water in a very calm manner. He recommended that I use the pool Noodle and pool belt. I asked him never to leave my side because of my fear of drowning and he didn't leave my side at all. Oh the swimming classes are 30 mins long. I don't think I'll be a proficient swimmer by next Saturday so I signed up for more swimming lessons in August. It is a good idea to arrive at least 30 to 40 mins early to find parking since it is park of the Chula Vista Rec Center. Looks like there are street parking available too. I highly recommend this place for anyone who want swimming lessons at any age. You can go on their website for more detail information. I think I paid like $26 or $27 which included some non resident fee because I don't live in Chula Vista.
