Very shady business tactics. I called about a vehicle on Thursday. Didn't get an answer. Called again Friday. Finally got an answer from an "young lady," whom I was later told was "AI" after I got to the dealership, and told her I was interested in the car and I'm from out of town with a four hour drive, and that I was coming to check out the vehicle the next day. She says ok and that I'll be working with Jamal. The next day I drive the four hour to the dealership. I come and I'm introduced to Mark who tells me "the car has an application in on it but since I'm in the building I can't have it if I want it." Hmm. Then he goes to get gas in it so that I may test drive it. While waiting for him to get back, I'm greeted by Jamal who lets me know that the car is sold and that they don't know anything about me coming because whom ever or whatever I was holding a conversation with the previous day was "AI." So needless to say, I'm out of a whole and gas and unnecessary mileage on my car. I wish I could give 0 stars. read more

My experiences with this dealership have been confusing - specifically with Mike Parker. Shane Sunderline was unable to facilitate a remote sale, but that seems like a communication issue. If you have any issues with this dealership that escalate to the level mine did, please report them to Honda customer service at 1-800-999-1009 and have a case opened. Quick version. I would personally avoid the Honda Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid Sport ( VIN 1HGCV3F2XNA046155 ) for sale. The tire tread of the rear tires - as measured with the dealer's own tool in front of dealer representative Mike Parker - was under the 5/32" tread depth required to meet Honda CPO used status. The dealer representative (Mike Parker) did not offer to fix this problem after being notified of it, did not offer to talk to service about this issue, and did not offer to report this to his sales manager. Extended version. I initially communicated back and forth with Shane Sunderline. I asked for documentation from an official company email before transferring money, and it was not provided. He sent me a buyer's order via text message with numbers - a good start. He then gave me their wire transfer information to send nearly $29,000 via wire transfer. I requested documentation to be sent from an official company email. I even offered to Zoom. Shane said they don't do electronic signatures. He communicated they also do $1,000, non-refundable deposits. I asked what happens if the vehicle isn't in the condition listed - "It is non refundable so we would take a deposit down on the vehicle if your 100% certain that your interested". I asked if there is anything in writing for this. I did not receive a clear "yes." I received an explanation that they would mark the car as sold and I would come in and do the paperwork in person. I called in to discuss documentation with a finance person (Alicia) who understood my concerns. After their finance person offered to work on sending me something official, Mike found out about this, texted me, and that it was better if I came in person. It appeared he put a stop to the actions of the finance manager. He said I was concerned about "wiring a deposit without a receipt," which is not accurate. He offered to take my payment over the phone by credit card - still without any documentation from an official dealer email address. A screenshot from a number that comes up as a "robocall" when searched on Google doesn't inspired confidence. I felt that Shane was trying to do the right thing, but if they have an Internet sales team, that those folks should have handled this instead. I drove 3.5 hours from the Cincinnati area to Dover and called Parkway Honda to arrange an appointment. I reached Sarah Kerr from the Internet sales team on the phone, and she arranged a test drive with Mike Parker. Sarah was professional and understood my frustration. Mike was professional until I measured the tread depth on the vehicle, which was below the required 5/32"+ on the rear tires that is required to achieve a Honda CPO classification. I measured the tread depth of the tires in front of him with a tire tread depth tool that he provided me. I asked what he would do to rectify this situation. He replied that it was certified, and then refused to let me take home the numbers he had drawn up on paper. He did not offer to fix the issue. He did no offer to notify his service team of the problem with the tread depth. He did not offer to notify his sales manager of the problem. This is not how Honda dealerships are run. If there is a problem with a Honda CPO vehicle and it is brought to the attention of a dealer representative, that representative is would typically work with management to rectify the situation. The fact that the tread was below the minimum - verified in front of a dealer representative - and Mike simply claimed it was certified, indicates serious deficiencies in customer service. read more

Avoid at all costs - this "shop" has no problem taking advantage and outright scamming their customers. Ordered tires for my wife's car from Tire Rack and selected Dover Honda from the list of available dealers registered with Tire Rack as they had the lowest labor charge at $92, yet as you can probably guess once my wife arrived the cost magically went up to $120. After it was pointed out that this was incorrect and the original the email with the original price was shown all of a sudden the charge went back to the original quote. Who knows how many others they have successfully scammed like this. The issues didn't end there though - while working on the car they sheared one of the studs clean off. They did not communicate anything to my wife while she was in the waiting room that they broke our car, and I only noticed once she got back home. When I called the dealer the manager claimed that the stud was fine and they were able to reattach - Once I informed him that no the stud was ripped clean off with only a few viable threads past the wheel the story changed. Now if we wanted it fixed they would be happy to do it, but only if we paid for the part & labor to fix the mess they made. They also claimed that they had no choice but to break it - maybe next time use proper torque specs instead of using your impact at max settings just a thought. I conversed with the Internet manager, Steve Rothel, through email about a particular car. I made an appointment to come see the car, specifically telling him that I'm about an hour away. He confirms the appointment and tells me to come in. I get to the dealership and the car is no where to be found. Turns out they loaned the car out for the night. I asked him if he specifically remembers me telling him that I'm an hour away and I'm coming to view the car. He clearly said "yes, I remember". He then tells me that the car is about 40 minutes away if I want to wait for the person to bring it back. I told him to keep it because I'm not interested in purchasing a car from someone who has no regard for my time. The "sorry" he extended didn't even seem genuine. Horrible experience at this dealership and if I had the chance I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

I would NEVER recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a used car. In fact I will be openly sharing my story with friends and family about how laughably terrible my experience with this dealer was. They are the epitome of the SHADY used car salesmen. Say one thing, do another and the customer is always WRONG! I didn't even make it out of the parking lot on my test drive because something was so clearly wrong with the vehicle. Then they tried to charge me for the repairs on top of the price of the vehicle. Over $1500 in repairs. Believe me when I say they're just trying to move inventory and they don't care about you or your "new" car as soon as you sign the paperwork and drive off the lot. Both times we got significantly better deals than we could get in Akron, even though Akron's closer. Always had great experience either buying or getting service. Just called with a minor issue. I was not pleased with how we were treated at this dealership. My 18 year old son was purchasing his first vehicle. I live 3 states away and was fearful of him being taken advantage of. I spoke with the salesman Chris directly, explained the circumstances and my concerns. He assured me he would keep my sons best interest in mind and that he was getting a great car. I wanted to help finance his car but also wanted him to have financial responsibility while also building up his credit. My son was interested in a specific car but did not have anyone go with him to look it over as he does not have family in that area. Chris assured me over the phone that the car was "a gem" and would be a dependable vehicle for my son. He put him in contact with finance dept. to finance half of the cost of the vehicle while the rest was paid in cash. This was one week prior to Thanksgiving. My son then drove to visit me for the holiday in this new (used) car. When he got here I took it for a test drive. There was something not quite right with the way it drove. I called a local mechanic and they were able to get him in the day after Thanksgiving, praise God! The car had a broken tie rod as well as a transmission leak. The bill was $567.86 to make it safe to drive! I spoke to Chris at the dealership to see if they would be willing to take care of any of this expense. He told me he would look into it and get back to me. He did and I was told the car was sold "as is" and that they barely made any money on that sale. He said he told my son to look it over good before signing the papers. Even though over the phone I explained that my son knows nothing about cars and I was fearful of him purchasing something on his own, and he reassured me he was getting "a gem". Bologna!! I told him one of two things occurred, 1. Their mechanic was not very good in finding these problems prior to selling 2. They knew about the problems and sold it without disclosing. Chris then told me they have hundreds of cars in and out their lot each week and there is no way to have a mechanic look at every single one prior to selling. I reminded him of our conversation of my fear because my son had no mechanical knowledge. He again said it was sold "as is" and there was nothing further to discuss. I am thankful my son was not hurt driving this car hundreds of miles while unsafe to drive. I'm thankful I was able to get it in to a mechanic and that the money was available to fix it. But I am NOT pleased with this dealership for taking advantage of my son. Chris even went as far to say possibly my son caused the problems in the one week he had it before coming to visit. We went there to get a family vehicle they sold us a 2003 Yukon... but they failed to mention they did not do a brake inspection no more than 4 days after we bought the vehicle it started grinding... the dust cover for the rotors was so rusted it had bent in towards the rotorsand there were NO PADS left on the back breaks... also there is oil leaking from some where around the transfer case and the check engine light is on.. Despite reading all the negative comments about how dreadfully poor the customer service is at Parkway Honda, I sincerely hoped that I'd have a different experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Managing Partner Mark Mears is a despicable human being with no concern whatsoever for the safety of his customers. One of the keyless entry fobs was not working on the vehicle that I purchased from him, and he said the issue was a "bad battery," but he couldn't even so much as give me a replacement battery. Regardless, it turned out that the issue wasn't a bad battery at all. One of the keyless entry fobs was not programmed for the vehicle I purchased. In my attempt to fix the problem myself, I managed to accidentally lock both sets of keys and my work laptop in the vehicle. I contacted Mark via text, and he did nothing to help me. Furthermore, he is now ignoring my text messages completely. As other customers have stated publicly about Mark Mears, he cares nothing about his customers and is only in it for the sale and the money. I certainly will not be doing business with Mark Mears or Parkway Honda ever again, and I will do my best to steer anyone else clear of Parkway Honda, as well. When I politely asked Mark, "Is there any chance that the previous owners of this truck still have the little metal key tag that came with the keys? Or perhaps a spare key?", he replied, "I'll check on Monday." Instead, he never replied, has STILL never replied, and left me in a precarious situation. That kind of negligence and utter disinterest in a customer who was in desperate need of help speaks clearly about the character of who Mark Mears is as a person. This place is full of a bunch of frauds and scammers. But what's worse than the people who work here is the garbage warranty they sell you on your overpriced Honda you can get for $5k+ cheaper at Waikem. The warranty appears to cover absolutely everything, but indeed there is a loophole to all of it. So when your brand new car that's two years old under warranty goes bad and you now live 2 hours away and call them to make sure it's covered, they'll tell you yes over the phone to get you in. Only to find out just a small maybe 3% portion of your $1000 bill is actually covered. But you can't be mad at Honda Parkway, because the warranty is from an outsourced company..... just when I thought I wasn't getting scammed I told her I only had $900 cash on me and the lady said yah that's fine without hesitation...... goes to show maybe I could have gotten it less? Did I mention $500 labor fee? Just go to Waikem. read more

I would first like to say the Owner took my Father's job even though his team sold more Hondas than any other single brand in Tuscarawas County. When he started there he came in and fixed problems that had been created in the past and was demoted for his efforts. The Owner gave my Father's job to a relative whom he fired from the same Honda store in the past! My Father wasn't the only one that lost their job that day as the Owner did this to several others throughout the Parkway Auto Group and stated that this was a 'cost cutting mode'. They then offered him a sales position, which I feel they did to humiliate him in front of his sales team. They did not provide him a desk, so when meeting with customers he didn't even have a place where they could sit. He pointed this out to the new Sales Manager stating if he was supposed to sell cars he needed somewhere he could meet and talk with his customers. A month went by and this situation was still not resolved. My Father first and foremost cares about how people are treated. He always made sure to treat people fairly and give them respect. He was always available to his team and customers. He was so dedicated that when my beautiful Grandmother passed away, he didn't miss a day of work! There will be people who think what was done is ok and some who will find glory in the hurt to others. Those that know my Father are aware of all he has done and they know he did not deserve this treatment. Apparently the Owner doesn't know he's supposed to be in the people business. The good news out of all of this is that he is back where he started at Ferris Chevrolet and he couldn't be happier. It is so good for him to be working in a professional environment where respect is shown to all.
