We started working with Parkway in 2021. At the time they were short staffed and getting in was a challenge. However, they were always polite and spend the time with me and our family pets that was needed. Over the last few years they have brought on new Vets and technicians and their availability to work in emergencies have improved. This was welcome due to having an older dog and 2 immune compromised young cats. Unfortunately these situations kept bringing us back to Parkway frequently. Recently our beloved dog, Shelby, had a series of surgeries and was ultimately diagnosed with melanoma. We did everything we could to save her and Parkway was there every step of the way. The morning we had to say goodbye to our pup I was banging on their front door just before opening. They helped me get her inside and the vet came to see her right away. Unfortunately the news was not good. It was time to help her cross. One of the technicians sat with Shelby and promised to stay by her side, which she did, until I was able to return with my husband and son. I will forever be grateful to Parkway and the team that helped our family get through that very tough day.

Dr. Fowler was highly recommended by a friend who had taken her dog who has cancer as well. Dr. Fowler began with an assessment with all Kirra's current records, xrays, lab reports, etc from conventional vets. She began with creating a diet based around her cancer known as the "cancer diet". It was made of foods that would aid her condition and I that I could make easily at home. Next, she put my dog on certain Chinese herbs that were based around her cancer and what she was lacking (she had become anemic). Kirra was a fussy eater and could sniff out any medicine but Dr. Fowler always had a solution for this! She was always on hand for any questions (and trust me I had MANY). Along with the diet and herbs we did acupuncture and B12 shots on Kirra. Her office was warm and welcoming. The acupuncture treatments would take 30 minutes to an hour and as Kirra would lie there relaxed, Dr. Fowler and I would chat and she would calm me and reassure me with Kirra's treatment, condition and overall health. Kirra was given weeks to months by Auburn Veterinary Hospital. I feel that with Dr. Fowler's diet, herbs, and acupuncture Kirra had a happy and lively 3 months. She was given a grime diagnosis by conventional vets and treated with chemotherapy. Dr Fowler helped treat Kirra's side effects from chemo with acupuncture and it worked, instantly. Kirra once walked in to her office and she had not eaten in 2 days. Dr Fowler tried giving her treats. No go. After hitting appetite stimulant points on Kirra with acupuncture, right after she ate up all the treats and her appetite came back. Unfortunately with all the treatment with conventional and holistic medicine, the inevitable happened and Kirra began to hemorrhage. All I wanted was for my baby to be comfortable and home when the time came. Dr. Fowler drove an hour and a half to my house and ended my baby's suffering. She made it as peaceful as it could have been. I held her the whole time. Dr. Fowler then made all the arrangements for me and I had to do nothing which was so helpful at such a devastating time. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Fowler. I HIGHLY recommend her and her wonderful services. Since I had started seeing her for Kirra I have recommended her to all my friends and coworkers who have loved animals from cats to horses. She has the BEST bedside manner and truly wants the best for you and your beloved pet. She will be honest with you and that is sometimes hard to hear but it is in the best interest of your beloved pet. Thank you Dr Fowler for making a devastating event peaceful, calm and comforting. She was able to end my baby's suffering so compassionately. Words can not express my gratitude and I am forever grateful. Kirra fell asleep peaceful in my arms at our home where she was most comfortable. I felt her last breath and was able to tell her how much I loved her the whole time. That is all I could ever wish for at that time and Dr. Fowler made that possible.

First, thank you to the entire front desk team for your warmth, kindness, and constant willingness to help with anything we throw your way. Next, an equally big shoutout to the AMAZING Ashley and to Dr. Logan Real. Ashley is one of those techs whose presence instantly puts me at ease, and Dr. Real has officially earned his spot on my "10/10 would recommend" list. Thank you both for taking such good care of Lily today. To the legendary Regina - thank you for looking after our Sadie during her heartworm treatments. She's still new to our family and her anxiety gets triggered so easily. Knowing she has you watching over her helps my heart rest a little easier. Finally, the biggest thank you to my hero, Dr. Lindsay Matheson. She has been seeing our dogs for years and has NEVER disappointed. Last year, she performed a lifesaving emergency surgery for our Sammy and then walked us through her tough fight with cancer. Because of her, we were gifted extra time to say goodbye to the sweetest dog who ever lived. To say that my family holds every single hard-working human at Friendship Veterinary Hospital in the highest respect is the understatement of the century. For nearly ten years, we've brought our fur babies here and have received IMPECCABLE care every single time. These people BRING IT - with passion, expertise, and genuine love for our pets. And they do it all with a smile, even when dealing with frustrated, grieving, or downright rude pet parents. You are all heroes!

I would highly recommend Friendship Veterinary to anyone with pets especially exotic animals! Thank you once again.

My (stray) cat had strong symptoms of something systemic going on. Even after I asked twice why we weren't giving antibiotics, I was sent home with a tranquilizer and a pain medication that makes a cat drowsy. My cat got worse and the following day. I called the doctor (Dr. Michael Beckham) twice and he encouraged to use the medication which I had initially not given him. I went back Sunday morning because my cat was almost comatose. I saw that his leg had swollen. Dr. Dean was more engaged. Questions were asked about leukemia and FIV and rabies vaccinations. My cat had an abscess on the leg. Rabies was on the table since I didn't know his vaccination status. I was told to stop using the tranquilizer (gabapentin) and the pain meds as they were not allowing to see his development. He received an antibiotic injection, and I took antibiotics home to treat him for 10 days. He is better this morning, Monday. I am angry with myself that I didn't insist on the antibiotics Friday night. I knew enough and had this gut feeling. Yes, the bloodwork was not totally definitive, but in doubt it's best to just go for it. I questioned the initial medication plan but no one could really explain to me the reasons for that decision. My cat was not in pain. He had symptoms of his body failing to function.

We were given the news she had cancer that spread from her belly to her lungs. She never displayed any symptoms of sickness and was the hardest decision to make to let her go peacefully. The doctor and staff made this awful moment as kind and respectful as possible. The doctor was very informative and understanding. The staff was polite and empathetic. They allowed us time to process, and make a decision. All of our questions were answered and options were made available that changed the rest of our lives forever. After some time we chose to have Tootie put to sleep instead of bringing her back home. I cried on the floor next to her when she drifted off to sleep. The painful feeling that she was gone was so strong i didn't realize the doctor was on the floor next to me too. She gave me unfathomable strength by just being next to me. After a week or so we were called saying Tootie was ready to come home. We were gifted with beautiful keepsakes and today she sits on the mantle in the living room. Thank you everyone here for making a tragedy into something special and very beautiful. Thank you

She is a 10 year old who has been groomed regularly her entire life with only one incident of injury (a cut in between her paw pads). All groomers have consistently praised her for being a sweet dog and a pleasure to groom. Dropping her off found facility appearance and greeting was pleasant. When I picked her up the owner advised my dog was kind of squirmy during grooming. Immediately upon returning home she began persistent licking and chewing all over her body and it was obvious that either her skin was very irritated or she had possibly picked up some fleas. Upon inspecting her I found she had multiple clipper burns on her belly and on the insides of her rear legs. Also noted her hair cut was pretty choppy and overall it did not appear she had been groomed by an experienced professional. After 5 days of the constant licking and chewing I took her to the veterinarian to see if it could be determined what was causing such terrible irritation. Vet believed she was having an allergic reaction possibly to the shampoo as when she examined her closely found raw spots all over her body but no visible evidence of fleas so she put her on a 15 day course of prednisone. Now after 7 days of prednisone she is much better. Vet expressed that maybe she shouldn't be groomed there anymore. Based on the poor quality of cut, multiple clipper burns and such serious skin irritation I don't believe we will be using this groomer again.
