Under new management and it's so much better, the green chili is really good but if you don't like the spice just order mild, I got medium and it was perfect, my mom got mild and it was a bit spicy for her. I'd stick to a traditional breakfast here. I tried a sandwich today. After calling in a Reuben, the restaurant called back to tell me they took it off the menu. I opted for the Philly and it was very small with not much between the bread. My husband and I left this restaurant shocked. Here is why...first, we were looking for a new diner that would be a hole in the wall and has both Mexican and American options. We can both confidently say that this restaurant had both. Service was so-so, the place was in dire need to cleaning...new carpets...new chairs and tables...just was very old and dirty. You could see the marks on the floor like a black trail of where people walk. Sorry, but this is pretty gross. When we got to the point where we paid our bill, the price seemed right. Parkway Cafe is your typical small town diner. I dropped by on a Sunday morning with a small group of people. They have limited vegetarian breakfast options. In fact, the only items on the menu I found I could eat was an omelet and pancakes or French toast. I ordered the number 3 omelet with French toast and a biscuit on the side. None of my food had any seasoning and the biscuit was under baked. The people I was with enjoyed their food more than I. As a vegetarian, my experience was underwhelming. This cafe may not be the best option for people with dietary restrictions but I'm sure all others might enjoy. read more

We've tried all the breakfast joints around here: Main St. Café, Westys, Lisa's Place, Pete's, Breadwinners, Butcher Block, all of them in this area. So I've been in the north area for years and I've always seen this little cafe but have never ventured in. So I decided to surprise my wife with some place new. It's located in a strip mall running parallel to 92nd ave, facing the North. This place is nothing fancy but it is very comfortable and lots of seating. There is a full menu and you can pretty much order whatever you want off the menu. We asked for suggestions and the waitress said pretty much everything was delicious. The server wad very friendly and very attentive. Even the other waitress checked on us to make sure we didn't need anything. I did go to the bathroom and when I walked by the kitchen it was nice to see the griddle in action full of bacon and sausage. Our plates were plentiful and filling. We will definitely be back. The food is home cooked, fresh ingredients and definitely made by people who care about what they serve. I'm pretty impressed as you can see. It's in a little strip mall on 92nd surrounded by little Mexican restaurants and a bakery. Don't expect a pristine setting, this is no frills but plenty of thrills. The waitstaff was all super friendly and personable. More of a friendly/friends atmosphere. Food - my wife had the Denver skillet. It has real pancakes with a good size and made right. In fact, the potatoes, Green peppers, onions, eggs were all fresh and not frozen stuff. I had the huevos Garcia, I was pretty happy with it.... their green Chile isn't the most elaborate out there, but it was good and the hot was hot enough. I would place it in the lower to middle in Hot heat range. Bottom line, go check it out.... This place is a sleeper. It doesn't look like much from the outside and surrounding areas but they are the ABSOLUTE BEST breakfast joint in town. I went specifically for the Gyro pita which was recommended to me. It had nice toasty pita which I liked, the meat was unique since it wasn't the usual thinly shaved pieces from a spit but rather 1/4" thick slabs. The yogurt sauce, lettuce, tomatoes & onions came on the side which works well. I did find my lunch to be a little pricey, considering the fact the place is in a trashy strip mall free of any typical REI clad Denverboulderites, I paid $11.50 w/tip for a Gyro pita, fries and drink. I also thought it was kind a cool how this extremely middle-american-Joe-the-plumber restaurant is smack dab in between a tattoo parlor and piercing shop which created an interesting juxtaposition for people watching. read more

There is something about this place.... I think, in general, I'm a relatively big fan of greasy spoons, although I don't go into them very often because they don't typically have healthy food options - but I LOVE the prices of them! The Parkway Cafe is a great establishment because they have a clean (for a dive) establishment with awesomely cheesy decor and the BEST staff (SUPER friendly) and decent diner food. The prices are right and the portions are BIG! I would recommend this place for dinner during the week if you're looking for a place to check out that isn't super busy. I love Greeks. Specifically, I love Greek restaurateurs, especially the ones who run breakfast/lunch joints like this one. They just know how to fill your plate up with hearty chow, and lots of it. Nick is the owner of this place, and you'll find him here most of the time when he's not over at his other establishment, Tug's Bar and Grill on N. Washington (more on that in another review). Standard breakfast/lunch fare can be found here, cheap and satisfying. Hashbrowns are HOMEFRIES, crispy and hot. I could eat a plate of these babies w/ ketchup by themselves. My boyfriend and I were hoping this would be our new favorite diner. It's close to where we live and has that really dated atmosphere inside. Unfortunately we were very disappointed when we visited. I ordered the eggs and toast with potatoes and my boyfriend ordered the same but with sausage patties. We both ordered our eggs over medium, but the whites in our eggs came out severely undercooked. The sausage patties my boyfriend ordered were still pink on the inside. The potatoes were good but didn't have a lick of seasoning on them. I had a bad experience here. I came in with some friends. I ordered a burger and no fries. I wanted a salad instead. It was pretty good. Really greasy. A little too greasy. When I got the check I saw the full price of the burger and fries plus the whole cost of a salad. Usually there might be an up charge for the substitution but this was ridiculous. I asked if they could fix the mistake. They told me that the fries are included in the price no matter what. I didn't get fries. I didn't want fries. Why am I paying for fries? That's just how it is, they said. Is there anything your willing to do to make me happy and keep me as a customer? We can give you fries. So their solution was to give me the fries that I didn't order, didn't want and didn't want to pay for. Wow! You guys are amateurs. Can't even handle basic customer service. I will never be back.
