During the trip to Denver, we did our best to try out all types of food. Italian was one of the last on our "To Eat" list, and I had to rely on Yelp for recommendations. There was a decent amount of seating, both indoor and outdoor. The decor had a dive bar / 80's restaurant vibe. The food: Toasted Ravioli - 4.5 / 5 - Worth it. Very crisp outside with delicious cheese inside French Onion Soup - 5 / 5 - I make it a priority to try out the french onion soup whenever it is offered. This ranks VERY HIGH up there when compared to other establishments. Very flavorful. The serving is very large so you might want to make it a priority to eat it all ASAP while it is warm. I eat rather slow so the last few bites did feel a bit of a chore (mainly because my Calzone arrived by then). Calzone 4.5 / 5: So good! Especially for the price point. Their servings are legit on the generous side - I could not for the life of me finish it all after the appetizer + french onion soup. Panna Cotta - 4 / 5 - Very good - It might have been just because I was stuffed that the desert didn't stand out for me as much as it did for the rest of our party. They have great happy hour deals on food and drinks (I ordered the happy hour Caesar salad and it was a good sized portion!). The dinner menu has lots of great options. Amazing classic red sauce Italian spot with an incredible happy hour oyster deal. The roasted oyster is delicious and massive in size, and I can easily put away dozens of these. Decided to come in for the late night happy hour which begins at 9 PM. The ambience is more like a bar when walking in, but they do have a dining room to the left-hand side. We came in for their half dozen oysters, which are only about $1.25 per oyster at night. It was a pretty good deal and I also loved the toppings and sauces that it came with. I felt like these were very fresh. However, I did feel like they could be cleaned a little bit better. The Caesar salad had a great garlic taste, and I would get it over and over again The baked oyster was OK not my favorite The balsamic glazed ribs were a hit at the table and fell off the bone. I would absolutely get these again with such great flavor. Angelo's has been one of my favorite happy hours for the last few years! I especially love sitting on the patio during a summer night. When I go, I usually get a plate of oysters for the table, the burrata, the sliders, the Caesar salad and the flatbread pizza! Plus, the great selection of wine and a homey chestnut interior are a winner in my book. The service is always top tier, and you truly can't go wrong with any of their menu items. We paid $21,500,00 for a heat pump/ AC system. During installation they unhooked a wire that controls my solar heat. They said they didn't know where to hook it back up. Now I will have no heat this winter. They say they are "not qualified" to hook it back up despite electric diagram for it on the system. Solar system service call is $200.00 to hook it back up. I think Fix It 24/7 should reconnect it or pay tte $200.00. They don't thin so. read more

The fancy Italian salad, was nothing special, the kind of lettuce that no one likes, 4/10. I had the crab-cake slider which had a fishy taste, for $8 I wouldn't order it again 5/10. The arancini was pretty good, I wouldn't say that I loved the tomato sauce but the arancini themselves were cooked and seasoned well 7/10. The ambiance is one of its biggest strengths--the dim lighting and fancy decor create a genuinely great atmosphere perfect for a date night or celebratory dinner. Furthermore, our server was exceptionally kind and attentive, contributing greatly to the positive front-of-house experience. The positive notes continued through our appetizers, which were generally excellent. However, one key starter was a letdown: the bruschetta. Instead of the expected crusty bread, it arrived on a soft, somewhat soggy base, which diminished the texture and taste. Unfortunately, the main courses were where the experience truly declined. I ordered the goat pasta, which was described as being mixed with goat cheese. As the photo shows, the dish arrived with only a few small crumbles sprinkled on top, which I had to request more of. Even after fixing the cheese issue, the pasta itself was the biggest disappointment--it was drastically undercooked, chewy, and in some parts, almost hard. For a restaurant focused on Italian fare, undercooked pasta is a major misstep. While the service and atmosphere merit a higher rating, the poor execution of both the bruschetta and the main pasta entree made it feel like the kitchen staff was rushing or not focused on quality control. Started with 6 lovely east coast oysters to go with my Bierstadt Pilsner and her lemoncello martini, which she enjoyed enormously. Manager brought us two different grilled oysters after hearing we hadn't returned in over 20 years. I was partial to the Parmesan cream but my wife loved the chipotle barbecue. We've developed the habit of sharing dishes as our appetites have shrunk with age. We split a roasted beet salad, French onion soup, and the chili relleno ravioli. I found the ravioli to be inventive and delicious with yellow corn and blue corn pastas. Celebrating our anniversary we splurged for the cannoli on a bed of chocolate and caramel. When I think of Italian restaurants, I usually think of a more quiet setting whereas Angelo's has TV's with sports games playing all around the restaurant. It definitely feels like a fusion between a restaurant and a sports bar. The food however, is way better than a sports bar. My husband and I ordered the vodka penne with chicken and the bison ravioli with half marinara and half Alfredo sauce. From the two, the vodka penne was the standout--it was SO delicious. The sauce on it was spectacular and I found myself eating the leftover sauce by itself after we ate all the pasta. The bison ravioli was good but not mind blowing, however, bison ravioli sounded unique to us so it gets positive points for that.
