Some friends and I are in Denver for the week and woke up this morning looking for a local place to grab breakfast. We saw that Westy's had great reviews on both Google and Yelp so, it was a no-brainer. We arrived and were greeted by multiple employees, all of whom we later found out were all family members. It is a relatively small restaurant but, not at all cramped. Nothing flashy or "trendy" about it either, which had me excited. We got seated and got our drinks quickly. After looking at the menu, we saw that there were plenty of options to choose from. I went with the Country Fried Chicken + eggs (I gave the eggs to my friend as I am not a fan of eggs). The food arrived within 10 minutes of us ordering and it all looked amazing. Included in my meal was the Country Fried Chicken, Hash Browns, Biscuits & Gravy and Toast (there were eggs but, again, I gave those away). All of that was included for only $15! The looks of the food were back up by the taste which was great as well. It was all the perfect temperature too - not hot enough to burn my mouth and not too cool either. Throughout our meal, we were checked in on multiple teams with drinks being refilled as well. All in all, I've got no complaints about the restaurant at all. They've been open at this location for 12 years and been in business for 40 years, all in the family! I would without a doubt recommend to anyone visiting the area. First of all, the service here was incredible. The servers were very attentive to us, and incredibly nice to me and my friends. The food was delicious! I got the chicken fried steak with eggs, seasoned perfectly and the gravy to top it off was delicious! Place was very busy and we still got our food very quickly, my cup of coffee was never empty because of how often the server would come to check up on us. Overall a fantastic experience for us! Second time around that I went there to order a chef salad first one I was a little disappointed in, but the second one is amazing. I can't wait to dive in! of course is the Service always wonderful. All the waitresses are so nice even the cooks and the owner !! it's a very chill little spot from where they used to be on 72nd and federal roughly now they're on Lowell and 67th and they do quite well for themselves. Walked in for the first time ( evand the owners nephew welcomed me as if we were long time friends. Really awesome guy and walked by the table often checking if I needed anything. Your typical diner cafe with good food and weak coffee. The customers all seemed to know each other for the most part and very entertaining. All the staff were extremely nice and attentive as well. It's definitely a place you feel at home in maybe even better. This was well worth loosing power at home and discovering the nephew and the experience. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE WESTYS!! My boyfriend and i usually go weekly for our wednesday breakfast dates but now it's turned to a monthly thing due to work. Frankie is our sever most times, he has the best attitude and always makes it a good experience. All the other servers are awesome as well, and greet us with the best hospitality. Frankie knows our order and typically when we walk in he always starts us off with our usual, side of ranch, fries and pickles! Due to their great customer service, hospitality, and amazing food they have made regulars out of us! All the reviews are true- this place is a gem! Exactly what I would expect of brunch in a diner setting- friendly service, greasy food cooked with love, and my coffee cup was always full. The menu is pretty simple with all the classics. I got a create-your-own omelet that was stacked with ingredients. The homemade hash browns were crispy and delicious. You can pick toast, pancakes or biscuit and gravy as your side which I loved. On a Sunday morning we only had about a 10 minute wait which isn't bad at all. read more

The food here was absolutely delicious--every dish was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The service was outstanding as well; the staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure we felt welcomed and taken care of the entire time. Place is not for everyone. I think it's great like an old diner. Seems lots of locals come here so the place must have great food. Put your name in the list when you get in. I had Westy's special and added green chili and gravy, you have to try it. You can enter from the front or park in the back and use the rear door. Staff at as friendly. Order was taken quickly for drinks but food order took a bit. The food did not take long and was hot. Coffee was actually good, just regular coffee done right. When our daughter was born, my husband and I would go once every couple weeks while on parental leave. The staff are all so nice, the food is delicious, and they would always remember us and talk about how big she was getting (our first visit she was 2 weeks old!). She's now over a year, and we still stop by once every couple months. Same yummy food and great experience! It's a little hidden gem, hole-in-the-wall place that has regulars and staff that remembers you. Feels like the 90s and I love that. read more

Just plain awesome. We're visiting from out of town and gave it a shot for breakfast. The food was great, but the staff was phenomenal. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. This is a great place full of regulars, which is always a good sign. I was running an errand in Westminster and finished up around noon which was the perfect time to pop in for a meal because shortly after the tables started to fill up. I got the country breakfast burrito which was out of this world. The gravy was amazing and there was plenty of cheese on top. I'm usually picky about sausage but loved the sliced sausage that came in this burrito. My husband got the southwest skillet and loved it, too. The portions are huge here and the food is so good you will eat until you are completely stuffed just because you don't want any of it to go to waste. I will definitely come back here next time I am in the Denver area to experience the amazing food and service again! read more

Westy's is the definition of a greasy spoon. I happened to be in Westminster and on my way to the airport so I came here right when they opened. My server/the staff were extremely kind. If you're looking for the hipster-type breakfast of Denver or Fort Collins, it's not at this place. It's a fairly standard breakfast, no frills, but a lot of food at a cheap cost. It's in a very industrial area of town. Hell, there is an employment agency right next door also opened at that early of an hour and random workers just in the parking lot. If you want the feel of what a cafe and a breakfast was once like with kind service and to just pound down food and coffee to start your day, then this is why Westy's has so many 5-star reviews (including from me) and is appreciated. I could have spent longer just hanging out, reading my book, drinking coffee, and chatting. As I was leaving, my server asked, "You headed to a job?" If only I were such a working stiff, but I embarrassingly had to say "I'm headed to the airport to Vegas" but we had a fun conversation about that. Fairly diverse breakfast and lunch menu. Not a ton of vegetarian options but you can mod or just order several items all a carte if you like. Hash browns came in a healthy portion. Short stack of pancakes were cooked well. Not overly cooked or too dense. The rest of the table had chicken fried steak and the Westy's Special. Large portions with plenty of sauce and side items. Service was quick for the food and check drop. Took a minute to get a seat but that was expected for a Sunday. Menu photos posted here are old but you can expect the same burgers, burritos, eggs, sweet breakfast items, etc. Just a dollar or two more but still very reasonable. A good neighborhood spot much like Nacy's off of Federal and 70th. Didn't especially wow me the day of but I will certainly be back to try again. We have eaten here every trip to Denver for many years. Always had great food and service at a reasonable price. We were there this past week and the food was still good, the service was OK, and the prices have gone WAY UP. They are now one of the highest priced breakfast restaurants that we went to on this trip. Breakfasts that were in the $10 range are now a minimum of $14. The special board near the door used to have deals in the $8-$10 range. Now, they were all $14. Go to the Brunch House or anywhere else for a great breakfast at a better price. Sorry but will not be back and that's a shame because it used to be our favorite. read more

This was everything you would expect from a really good, hole in the wall, locals breakfast place. A whole lot of awesome. We flew in overnight to visit family, and needed a place that opened early for breakfast. Checked Yelp, and this place opened at 6am. So we headed over here. As we walked through the door, we were greeted by a very cheerful woman (and I did not get her name, darn). It was open seating, and a few tables were already occupied at 6:10. There were coffee mugs on the tables, ready to go. All that we had to do is turn them over and almost instantly they were filled. We ordered the bacon breakfast burrito, and confirmed that it was indeed smothered in green chile...SCORE!, and a side order of the potatoes. We split the burrito, but we did not wish to split the potatoes. They were only $1 more. What a deal. She asked us if we would like a roasted jalapeno, and my husband said yes to that. The coffee was really tasty. It was not weak at all, nor was it bitter. It was great. And our cups were topped off on a regular basis. When our food came out, it was presented to us by our enthusiastic waitress. She checked on us again later. Everyone here, except us and the couple behind us, were locals. This place just seems like a really comfortable place to enjoy the morning with friends. The green chile had great flavor, the jalapeno was spicy, and the food very inexpensive. This diner is exactly what you're wishing for if you're looking for a family-run business that obviously cares what every single customer thinks about their service, the quality and quantity of the food, and a feeling that you are valued and welcome to come back. I asked for the Meat Lovers Skillet, but made with Polish sausage instead of regular, ham, and bacon crispy. I selected a biscuit with gravy instead of toast, and 2 eggs over-medium. The entrée was perfect, the biscuit was not super thick and cakey, but rather 1 inch thick and properly cooked, with delicious slightly salty gravy. Kelly had the eggs with hashbrowns and two large Polish sausages, and a pancake. She said it was the perfect combination of salty and sweet. The coffee was flowing with five different people filling up my cup if I wanted it, and the flavor was fantastic. Thanks to Yelp, we found this place while driving from Kansas City to Aspen, and we are so very happy we made the effort to choose a local entrepreneur.
