Once inside, the staff was friendly and welcoming, which is exactly what I've come to expect from Island Bagel. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the standard I've experienced at their other locations. I ordered the Lowcountry Breakfast Sandwich. The bagel was under-toasted, and the eggs were overcooked. While "stale" may not be the perfect word, the eggs gave the impression that they had been sitting for a while rather than being freshly prepared. The fresh, made-to-order quality I've come to associate with Island Bagel simply wasn't there during this visit. I'm hopeful this experience was an exception rather than the norm. Based on my past experiences with the company, I know they're capable of delivering much better. While this particular visit fell short of my expectations, I would still encourage people to give Island Bagel a try, whether at this location or one of their others. My hope is that this was simply an off day and that future visits better reflect the quality I've come to expect from the brand. I saw cannolis listed so I got one to go. So excited I took a bite once I was in the car. This has to be the worst cannoli I have ever eaten. I don't understand it. Thankfully it was still cold so food poisoning won't occur. What I think happened was someone's idea what they think a cannoli is. The shell was correct. The filling was white with mini chocolate chips. But after that no way any of the ingredients used were correct. I did Facebook messenger to let them know. They responded and said next time they are there I can get another on them? On them I just am glad I didn't throw up. It was a waste of $5. I will not be back. Lots of different bagel and sandwich options. I opted for the BLT with garlic mayo on a salted egg bagel with a sea salt caramel latte. Gabrielle took my order, she was lovely and patient. If it weren't for the editable paper insignia, one would guess it was for a baby shower with the colors used. To make matters worse, the lid smashed into the top layer while we were driving back. I should have NOT bought it but felt weird since we went to the guy's house to pick it up. His store front had closed. We ended up leaving it at the Airbnb and not presenting it to our marine because it looked so bad. I'm sure it tasted good, but lacked in presentation. I was really disappointed. Russ did offer to come by and fix the top but by the time we connected we were no longer at the house and the cake was in the trash.
