They did change some things on the menu since we moved here last August. They took away their amazing, huge cinnamon roll and replaced it with a very dry one. My daughter would get the cinnamon roll every single time she came in. But then when they came out with the new one she passed. Just didn't have enough icing on it, and it was dry around the edges. The other thing that I was sad about is that they went with plain old white coffee cups with their name on them. It seems so corporate to me. They stood out with their colorful, huge mugs for coffee!! My daughter and I absolutely adore that. It made them stand out a bit . Their food is pretty good. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The only other tip I would recommend would be when you guys have specials listed on your specialty menu to make sure you don't run out of anything. Last time I was there, you ran out of the banana bread latte and that was pretty disappointing. And please bring your cinnamon rolls back lol!!

However, the menu was surprisingly small and lacked many breakfast staples you'd expect at a diner, like Eggs Benedict. I ordered the French toast, which was just okay. I wasn't a fan of the syrup, and overall, I was disappointed with the limited choices. I would have rated Jimmy's Cafe higher if it weren't for the fact that it's cash only. In 2025, it's hard to believe any establishment still operates this way. If the issue is credit card fees, the solution is simple: post a sign about a service charge for credit card transactions. This way, customers have the choice to pay with a card if they're willing to pay the fee. It puts the decision in the customer's hands. Because of this outdated policy, I won't be returning.

Gravy was full flavor, not gritty at all, and there was more than adequate amounts of sausage. Sometimes you have to play hunt the sausage, which is just a scary statement. I had ordered an extra well-done sausage patty just in case I needed to cut up more and had it. But I would've been OK without. Happy with our choices plus a tremendous value. Highly recommend anyone coming into the Indiana dunes area looking for a great breakfast value I believe the place closes at 1 o'clock, so keep that in mind. My wife and I just moved to Valparaiso,IN from Phoenix and saw this super cute donut shop!! They just opened today 6/16/2022! We came in and the atmosphere is amazing! Super clean, great music playing and amazing staff! We got in line and decided to order breakfast , coffee and donuts! It did not disappoint! Let me tell you! We ordered a cookies and cream donut which is only 1 of about 20 they have to sell in their case! This cookies and cream donut was delicious! We then ordered the avocado toast and spinach pesto sandwich! Both sandwiches were delicious and a great portion size! Lastly, I'm a bit of a coffee snob and I got the iced honey cinnamon oat milk latte and my wife got the coconut oat milk latte! These coffees were amazing!!!
