He recommended hydro jetting it for an additional $485 and then sending a camera through (another $250) to take photos to make sure the line was clear. I decided to get a second opinion and luckily found Dustin at Honest Sewer and Drain. He came out to the house the same day, was able to take a photo (for NO Charge) without hydro jetting and locate the problem as a root ball growing into the pipe. He snaked and cut out the roots and the line is flowing again. All for $270 (after a 10 percent discount)! No hydro jetting, no charge for the photos. The next day the bathtub line was clogged and he came out and got it flowing again. No additional charge! Hard to believe but it's true. Dustin is in it for the long haul - he understands that a business is built on delivering competent, professional and honest service. So refreshing to work with Dustin and his team - highly recommend!

I received a text message indicating the service person was on their way. The service person took a look at the faucet and almost doubled the price of the job.('$651.20). I was mortified. I questioned the cost increase and was provided a terse explanation. Realistically, no amount of explaining could justify the unreasonable inflation of cost. The guy was in and out of my house within 20 minutes. I won't ever use 5 Star Plumbing again. I will not recommend 5 Star Plumbing to anyone. The reason for the 2 stars - same-day service, notification of ETA, and he cleaned up after completion of the job. That's it. The absence of the other 3 stars - ridiculous inflated cost. The review process asks the question... What could improve? The best answer I have for that question...I should improve. I need to pay closer attention to the content of the negative reviews. But after, we stopped getting hot water so we called them back. They noticed our old gas heater needed repair, so they replaced a component (thermocouple). After that, our hot water came back but there was a strong gas smell that lasted a couple of days. We called Millennium who came back to inspect it, but found nothing wrong. They said that the new part just needs to burn off some gas (??). However, the smell persisted for another couple days so we called PG&E because we feared it may be a gas leak. They came to inspect and notified us that a certain part was installed incorrectly which was causing gas to leak. We called Millennium back who admitted it was their wrong and quickly fixed the issue. They offered a partial refund which we haven't seen yet. We're honestly just relieved we can breathe in our own home. All in all, the runaround and back-and-forth about the water heater was exhausting. But the owner in particular showed lots of care and integrity in his work, which we appreciated. He was great to communicate with and helped rectify any errors.
