Parrish is a wonderful woman. I mean, I honestly thought she was like a friend after only four appointments. She is very personable. For that, she gets one star. Why such slow rating? She is a charlatan! She ripped me off! Plain and simple. Parrish charged me $450.00 for a permanent make-up service, which took place over three appointments s. I feel like I got to know her a little bit...which, is why I was so blown away when my "permanent make-up" lasted all of 36 hours. I'm embarrassed because I am 51 years old and I should know better than to trust a total stranger to apply permanent make-up to my eyelids. Well...I guess I have grown to trust YELP too much, as her 5-Star rating caught my attention. PLEASE...save yourself the misery and go to someone else. There are too many people who offer the same service..,but legitimately. If you pay Parrish Blair for anything, I guarantee you, you will be hustled. She is a nice person with a shitty work ethic. Parrish told me that she would provide me "other services," to make-up for her lack of skill in applying my permanent eyeliner. However, when I attempted to redeem this service, she backed out on me with two "emergencies." When asked if she would give me a partial refund, she said "I can't give you money back, I have used it to pay my rent." Really? I could have used it to pay rent. I am not rich, Parrish. I work hard, just like you pretend to do. After making my second appointment, she informed me that she was moving to Atlanta, Georgia, so she wouldn't be able to provide me any services after this January. If that's true (I wonder), she will, hopefully, find another cash flow stream, which she hasn't burned yet. I suppose in Atlanta you can pay more rent with $450.00 than you can in the Bay Area. Well, you know how you walk out of the salon when your hair looks amazing? That is how I walk out of her building after my eyebrows are done. Perfect shape, perfect color. LIKE A BOSS. 2. Music - While you wait, there is a small, eclectic vinyl collection from which to choose a soundtrack for your service. No whale songs here. Apologies if that is your thing. 3. Location - Though some may be reticent about the location at first (I guess?), it is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking in back with security. Additionally, she is willing to travel to you. 4. Parrish - She's kind of a badass. She's a really engaging, funny chick and before you know it you are done. I don't ever bother to write Yelp reviews, but Parrish really deserves to have her praises sung. People ask me about my hair stylist all the time, but not too many people see my wax job (I know, right?) and so I don't get to recommend Parrish nearly as often as she deserves. I stumbled upon Parrish at Simply Green but was so impressed by her skill and the quality of her work, I would follow her anywhere. She is an absolute sweetie with a great sense of humor, which is an absolute must when your nether regions are being handled by an otherwise complete stranger. Despite her easy going personality, she is never less than 100% professional at all times. Parrish is fantastically skilled as an aesthetician. I see her for a Brazilian wax and have a tendency to get a lot of ingrown hairs in uncomfortable places. Whatever her special technique is, it works. My skin does so much better with her than anyone else I've seen. I've also had a wax so bad that I needed to shave when I got home. You will definitely never have this experience with Parrish - all the hair is GONE. I've seen Parrish at her salon in Oakland as well as at her home, but she also has a mobile service. A few of my friends recommended going to Parrish about 5 years ago. After my very first visit I won't go to anyone else! Before Parrish I had gone to a very fancy salon and got my very first Brazilian wax and I was shocked at how bad it hurt and they weren't very efficient and there were a lot of hairs that were missed. When I pointed that out they were very nasty and indifferent. I am SO glad that I had friends that I trusted that recommended me to Parrish. After getting my doctor's approval for microblading while pregnant, I scheduled an appointment with Parrish. The process was super easy, painless and fun. Parrish went out of her way to make sure that I was super comfortable, that we were on the same page for my eyebrows, and that the numbing creams were working (I didn't feel anything at all). Her email instructions after I booked the appointment were easy to follow, as were her aftercare instructions. Miss Parish is awesome! I've only ever had a Brazilian wax once because it hurts like birth pain lol. But I'm leaving for a beach vacay and I gotta tame the jungle so I sucked it up. I scheduled my first "braz" with Parrish last weekend. Everything was scheduled via text message. She even sent a text the day before to confirm. (Yay for customer service!) I anticipated pain, but Parrish's technique, product and method left me virtually pain free. I think I anticipated pain more so than I actually experienced pain. I know I'm really late posting this review but I had to give it anyway. I tour for work, which means I spend a great deal of my time on the road. As we know getting hair removed, from down there is a very personal experience so I rarely look for new people to do my Brazilian because My sister is and Esthetician and naturally I'm comfortable with her. We also own our own waxing boutique so I don't need to go anywhere else. Anyway last year, I was on the other side of the country (I'm always in Cali) and I could not wait any longer. I logged on to Yelp and found so many great reviews about Parrish. Parrish was AMAZING!!! She came to my hotel downtown and waxed me in about 15 minutes. The rest of the time was spent laughing and talking because she is so cool and funny. She was so comforting and reminded me so much of my sister's calming disposition.
