A neighborhood gem for sure - on most visits, it's fully booked out! Krystal, the owner, is fantastical! She is detail oriented and patient. Very much appreciate that she doesn't upsell and recommends services only based on your needs. I inquired about UV Gels ($65 on natural nails). Shen then said, if soft gel has been okay - don't need to get it! Linn, my nail technician today, went the extra mile! I mentioned soft gels tend to peel/break very quickly for me due to my brittle nails, she suggested for Power Gel ($38) instead. She added extra powder layers at the front hoping it'll last longer and be stronger. Not to mention the space is well maintained and huge! Definitely will be getting my nail glam ups here! read more

I'm a ticklish person and when this lady who was massaging my feet with lotion I pulled my feet away and they were taking in their language which bothered me. Both manicure and pedicure were very quick and without massage. I've been went to different places where they take time with you and massage your hands and feet. I have been going here for many years to get my nails done and overall I am very happy with Parsons. I mostly get a gel manicure, or sometimes an SNS manicure, and 99% of the time I am very happy with the product. There is a male owner who can sometimes be a bit offputting (and definitely don't let him do your manicure) but I find that the rest of the staff are generally friendly and do good work. The thing I like most about Parsons is the speediness. Sometimes you do have to wait even if you make an appointment (though I feel like they've gotten better with that,) but once you get started, you get out of there very quickly which is most important to me because I hate spending hours in the nail salon. read more

So I had a nail emergency on a Wednesday night so I found this place through Yelp. I walked in and Kai took me right in. I decided to get a manicure and pedicure as well (originally it was just to fix a natural nail) I loved that they had great nail polish brands like OPI and Essie. She cut my nails to my liking and shaped them nicely. The pedicure was great as well. Idk if it's for the holidays but I got cute little toe-less Christmas socks so my pedicure wouldn't get ruined and body oil as well as gifts. I appreciate the gesture and the quick service I got here. Kai was very professional, quick and efficient. Overall the establishment is very nice, clean and big. So, I went to Parsons Best Nail & Spa because of a rave review and referral. I was really excited, because I've seen her nails before and always complimented them. Sigh. For our very first visit, I brought my mother with me so she could get a nice mani/pedi with me, and we arrived about 5-10 minutes late, because we couldn't find parking (tip: there is one entire street on the side of this salon that you can NOT park on, and apartments around the area, so be sure you come way early if you are driving there). We rushed into the salon and told them that we were sorry for being late, but we had an appointment. I expected to see - at the most - someone who had just started because the techs thought we were no-shows. We didn't see that at all. In fact, everyone seemed to have been at least halfway through their manis or pedis, so it was clear that regardless of our appointment, we would have had to wait. My mom and I picked out our colors and they sat me down first at a chair for my pedi. About half an hour later, they finally sat my mom down. I was mad, but stayed calm because I knew my girlfriend would still be back and I didn't want to cause trouble. My pedicure was nothing extraordinary - just your usual, plain jane pedicure. Well, except for the fact that on my right big toe, the polish was applied unevenly and created a little bit of a puddle on the side. Instead of just removing the polish, she just applied some more to the thinner parts and shrugged it off. It was a light pink/nude color, so I didn't make a big deal of it. We both went in for gel manicures, and I had certain designs in mind. After showing my tech the design that I wanted, her facial expression and the uncertainty in her "umm.. okay....." made me quickly go through other designs and pick a simple design with crystals. Bad move. She couldn't figure out how to do the design, although it was a very simple trident design, then kept stressing how each crystal was 2/$1 or $1 each and such. I got so frustrated after about half an hour of struggling to get the design correctly that I ultimately just left without getting what I wanted. *** IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM TO GRIND YOUR NAILS DOWN: don't let them touch your hands until they REALLY get it! I HATE when nail techs grind down my nails to make the gel stick for longer. I literally tell them "I don't care if the manicure comes apart tomorrow - DON'T file the tops of my nails PLEASE." Here, she said okay and then proceeded to take the electric sander and sand down the tops of my nails. I pulled my hand back and asked what she's doing and she said she was going to clean my cuticles that way. I was doubtful but let it go, and she proceeded to lightly sand my nails down, even after I specifically asked her not to. The worst part, to me, was the fact that it was obvious that time was passing and it was getting closer to closing time, and she started to really rush through things. Not only did she not put a hot towel on my hands, there was no lotion, no hand massage, and I felt the pressure of all the employees getting annoyed about the late session. I made the appointment far in advance, they knew what I was going to do and what time I was coming in - if it wasn't enough time, they should have just said so and asked for me to come in another time, instead of sacrificing my experience and their service. The one star is for the fact that the gel manicure itself without the crystals wasn't that bad. If you want a mani/pedi worth paying for, go elsewhere. read more

My boyfriends mom has been coming here for years and stands by them so I thought I'd give it a shot. I had a tip set appointment at 7pm with Summer. I only got seated at 7:30 which was a little frustrating since they close at 8. None of the staff really spoke to their customers while doing their nails like some other salons have, they just spoke amongst themselves which made it seem as if they were talking about me and other customers. When summer started to file my nails she filed them way to short on the top with the filling machine used for tips and it began to become painful. When she applied the first player for the gel tips and I placed it under the UV light it burned so bad I was about to tell her to forget my manicure. After the second coat the pain faded away and I was beginning to enjoy the manicure. It was a very time consuming process but I did not feel rushed nor did she rush the manicure. The time I left it was 8:30... 30 minutes after closing but they were all very nice about it. After I left there was still another customer drying their nails. I do admit it was pricy. I got a gel manicure with the coffin shape which is an extra $5 charge so I ended up paying $62 without tip (I gave cash tip). Parking is an extreme headache and the salon has an awkward layout however I do plan on going for my refill and would recommend read more

Looks like they picked up a couple of artwork from the dollar store and carelessly hung it up. Floors, chairs, and stations were completely outdated. The nail polish selection was limited. But seriously, the most important part is the service and the results. My pedicure could not have lasted more than FIVE minutes!!! What kind of pedicure is that??? No foot massage, no exfoliation, no filing. I feel like I should not have to ask for that. It should be a given in any respectable nail salon. She rushed through everything and didn't properly clean my cuticles. She even hit my painted nail with the book and I had to point it out! She said sorry and just painted over the scrape.... she didn't care about quality of work. My mom got a somewhat better experience with another manicurist, but I was surprised to see that she started filing and cutting my mom's nails on little table for cups on the pedicure chair!! They were waiting to get the same nail polish that was being used on me to do her feet so they kept her in the chair but that's just unsanitary!! There were nail filing and clipped nails on the chair!!! Overall, the entire mani pedi took less than an hour... I didn't expect a lot for the price, but I do expect them to have sanitary practices even if they're cheap. I'll be finding a new location to get my nails done. read more

One of the worst experiences ever. As soon as I walked in they just seemed like they didn't even want to be bothered. I asked for a fill-in and was automatically told I need to take my nails off and put a new set on (Nope, not happening today)! I politely declined and was seated at Linn's station. Linn then began telling me I need a new set of nails and it would cost $50. Again I told her "no" and she automatically got an attitude. AS she's filing my nails she making sure to point out where my nails are lifting and that she can't guarantee that the nails will last longer than a couple of days (there is absolutely nothing wrong with my nails. I saw right through their attempt to up-sell). Linn then begins filing my nails hard and one actually popped off. She then had the nerve to tell me I had to pay for it to get replaced and that if I did the whole set like she told me then that wouldn't have happened. We immediately began to argue (I'm not paying for something you broke on purpose in an attempt to prove your point). Once she saw I wasn't backing down she dropped the issue and began talking to her co-workers in a different language. Needless to say she did a HORRIBLE JOB! SHE USED GLUE AND DIPPED MY FINGERS IN THE POWDER!!! My nails where gritty and looked like I had sand under my nail polish! I had to reminder her that I needed to wash my hands. She didn't even want to put the lotion on my hands afterwards!!!! She piled a bunch of polish on my nails and then told me to go dry. She patted my shoulders (while the lady next to me got a full shoulder rub from her nail tech) then walked away. I looked at my nails and they had rippled because of the excessive amount of polish she put on them (I've never seen that happen before)! Barry, I'm assuming he's the owner, had to come and re-polish all of my nails because my nail tech was no where to be found! Overall: NEVER AGAIN!!!!! This has been my favorite and the only nail salon I choose to go in this neighborhood. I have my regular manicure and spa pedicure done every two weeks for more than two years. The salon is clean, bright and pleasant. Staff is friendly, polite and the most importantly, all do a very good job. All manicurists are well trained, experienced, willing to go above and beyond to accommodate customers, especially if you are one of their regulars. While owners and management of nail salons tend to turn over quite often, I feel comfortable to see that this salon has been stable, very popular in he area and operated by the same management for a while.
