TL; DR: Dishonest place... shit parts.. shit customer service. Delievered wrong part, wouldn't refund money. I called in to order a few parts for my car. Sales rep Octavio was helpful and looked up everything I needed. My parts were very date specific and I asked to make sure he knew it was the right parts and he assured me they were, pulling it up on his computer to verify. I asked what the return policy was and he said the parts were lifetime warranty and I could return or replace them if they were the wrong size. I drove over 20 miles to pick them up. To make a long story short, both parts were from the wrong production date and didn't fit or work with my car.The first time I went back 2/15, I returned the master cylinder for fitment issues. This is a long term build so I didn't get to the slave cylinder till 8/15 and guess what? It also didn't fit! I came today 9/4/15 to return the brand new and unused part and talked to I believe Trevor. He acknowledged that Octavio screwed up big time but wouldn't refund their ill-fitting product due to the timeline and was completely unhelpful and quite frankly a bit of a prick after that. I get that 7 months is a long time to bring back a part, but then why offer the lifetime warranty? Especially considering that it was your sales rep's fault that he pulled up all the wrong production dates on the computer when I was very clear about them. They also promised OEM parts (another thing I asked several times to be sure) and really sold me chinese made crap instead. When I compared them to the old parts i realized these were not OEM and furthermore a quick ebay searched turned up the same shit parts for almost half the price I paid here. So Octavio basically lied to my face to make the quick sale and get me outta there. And then charged me double for it. I did a brake service replacing my front brakes with ceramic pads and driver side caliper for my honda civic. I believe that the brand was centric so beware. At the 2 year mark the side with the new caliper failed and wore out the pads unevenly and needed to replace both parts again. I returned to the store with my original receipt and apparently the warranty is for only 1 year. Had I known this I would of gone elsewhere that offers limited lifetime. Elsewhere would have been the same price with limited lifetime warranty. Now I have to pay again for the same parts again that I should have bought from somewhere else. I don't recommend this place or the parts because the warranty is to short. read more

After not finding what i needed at pep boys I called Star, they took over 10minutes to answer the phone. Once they answered I confirmed they had what i wanted but he said they close in 10 minutes to come the next day. i let him know i was less than a block away and in case i didnt make it right at 7 if he could hold the door for me and offered to pay for part with CC over the phone, he said no we close at 7 on the dot if your not here too bad. Went to O'Reilly instead and they helped me out quickly and the same part was $45 less there. read more

First of all, don't come here your better of checking out o' reilly auto parts, pep boyz, or even auto zone if you're looking for parts or a battery. Their customer services skills suck, the guy that i spoke to did not greet me or anything. Cheap parts. And don't think about the lifetime warranty if you lose or misplace the receipt. They won't do a thing to help you. Won't be coming back here. I bought an alternator for my car, less then 2 years and it goes out, now I have to buy a new one. Waste of $200 bucks because there is no proof I purchased it there. read more

He checked and cross-referenced over and over again on different systems and different websites to make sure we were getting the correct part. I've been coming to Star Auto Parts for awhile now and it's the only place I go for my parts. I'll occasionally go into other auto parts stores for generic items but they are not as helpful as Star Auto Parts when ever I need to find a specific part for my vehicle. They even supplied me with all the rubber hoses, gaskets, fluids, and other miscellaneous accessories when I re-installed my rebuilt engine about a year ago and most recently all the parts for my front brakes. Offering quality brands(and lifetime warranty on most parts) that I have complete and total confidence in rather than the brands offered by other auto parts stores. Other people may have had bad experiences with them in the past leaving negative reviews but they do not seem to be within a compelling reason. Personal experience has taught me that customer service is not as easy as it looks, especially for them since they do not only serve public "off the street customers" but also mechanic shops around town. They've got part numbers memorized like the back of their hands and will always help out, after all parts don't always magically appear from the mysterious "back", they get delivered. And delivery takes time, especially when it's not in stock. So patience is key should that happen. If you're in need of a parts that can match "in most cases" OEM standards(in most cases because some makes and models are not very compatible with aftermarket parts) then Star Auto Parts will more than likely have what you're looking for. read more

I decided to call Parts Authority and from a description only Jose was able to find the part and order it for me. Best part yet, he had in the store ready for pick up within 90 minutes.
