Because it had been installed by the technician they refused to take it back. But, they offered me a goodwill gesture of $15 after I had to spend $275 on modifications. Very disappointing experience with PartsAvatar.ca. I paid extra for faster shipping, but the order was delayed and the entire process became frustrating. After receiving the shipping confirmation email, the tracking number initially showed "No tracking data found." Later, I received a delivery notification with a delivery window between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, but the package still had not arrived even by 10:00 PM. I contacted customer support multiple times. The most frustrating part was that my support ticket was marked as "resolved" before the package was delivered and before my concerns were addressed. Your website clearly indicated that the alternator I ordered was "1 left in stock." Based on that information, I placed the order immediately, selected store pickup for March 4-5, and my credit card was charged right away. After placing the order, instead of receiving the pickup confirmation, I kept receiving irrelevant promotional emails about things like maple syrup events and other marketing messages. Meanwhile, the only information I actually needed -- whether the part was ready for pickup -- was never provided. On March 4, I contacted your team through chat and was told the order just needed "a bit more time to process." On March 5, after contacting you again, I was finally informed that the part is actually out of stock and that I would need to wait at least another 7 days for restocking. This is extremely unprofessional. You had no problem charging my credit card immediately, yet you somehow failed to notify me that the part you claimed was available was not actually in stock. Instead, I had to chase your support team twice just to discover that the product I paid for does not exist in your inventory. If you had time to send marketing emails, you certainly had time to notify customers about a stock problem. The lack of communication and the inaccurate inventory information show a very poor level of customer service. Because of this situation, I have cancelled the order and requested a full refund. I expect this refund to be processed immediately. This experience has been extremely disappointing and reflects very poorly on how you handle online orders and customer communication. Yes they have good prices but there's always a catch! 2 years ago I ordered a EGR valve from them and 2 months later it failed so I ordered another one that I paid for and they eventually reimbursed me. Here we are 2 years later it failed again but when I reached out to Parts Avatar for warranty they tell me their policy is 12 months only and I need to deal with the manufacturer. Soi contacted the manufacturer/ Dorman that tells me they don't deal with the public even though it's still covered by their warranty and that I have to deal with the seller. Review: Poor Quality Control and Customer Service I purchased brake pads and rotors from PartsAvatar. While the pads worked fine, the rotors were completely out of spec--so thick on one side that the caliper and pads wouldn't even fit without forcing the rotor to the thin portion. I explained the parts had already been removed (as they were unusable) and I wasn't in a position to reinstall defective parts just to make a video for them. Their response? "We can't take parts back once installed." How exactly is a customer supposed to know the rotor is unusable without attempting installation? I ordered 2 front struts and 2 rear struts from Parts Avatar. They sent sent two front struts with different heights and Two opened/damaged boxes of rear struts. I sent them the screenshots and explain the issues. They keep sent me the emails 8 emails about the issues have been escalated to support. I was waiting for 6 days and I have no solutions yet. I requested a phone call to discuss the issue. They said "Unfortunately, our phone lines are not active due to technical issues. We will soon resume our calling services." They forward you to some third party company out of California which bills your credit card and tries to sign you up to an monthly service. I'm probably going to have to contact my credit card service and fight this now. Absolute nightmare. I have no idea why they would use this service and put customers through this. Terrible experience. Terrible service. Purchased a radiator for my Jeep SRT. Price was good, shipping took about a week..thought everything was going smoothly. Box looked to have some damage upon arrival and sure enough 2 of the plastic mounts were broken. The rad was packed strapped to a piece of cardboard inside box with not foam at all...see pics. Ok, no big deal, so I thought. They sent a return label, I dropped pkg off with purolator and after about a week we got a refund and reordered. Second rad arrived after another week, same problem..this box actually had quite a large piece missing, no foam protection and rad again had broken tranny cooler brackets. Contacted customer service, they assured us if we reodered they'd ensure it was packed well. Shipped second rad back and after another week got 3rd rad, and what do you know...box had another hole and more broken clips. After 3 attempts and having to repack and ship their broken parts back and waiting for refunds, my jeep was laid up for over a month. We contacted customer service, they were combative and denied they sent a broken part. PartsAvatar claimed I broke the clips and forwarded me a pic of the box prior to shipping, to which I pointed out the hole in their own picture...unreal. Customer service was awful, no empathy, nothing offered for my time spent and btw you can only reach them via chat. I ordered another rad from a different company, the part was vac packed with foam supports and in pristine condition upon arrival...the first time. On September 19, 2023 I tried to determine which brake rotors I should be ordering on the PartsAvatar.ca website. Using their system to figure this out is so difficult that I wanted to call them for guidance. I looked high and low but could not find a phone number. I even did a Google search - nothing. I was forced to use their chat service. I was asked for the year, make, model and trim package. I was also asked for my VIN, which I gave them. I also specified that I wanted coated rotors. On the chats they would take several minutes to respond to each of my communications, but then would sign off before I had an answer! It took 3 tries to get a usable answer. I placed my order. The parts did not arrive until September 27th. The parts they sent were the ones they had recommended. The front rotors were 14" in diameter. My originals were 12.5". Both the front and rear rotors were NOT coated according to the manufacturer's website (the PartsAvatar website has them marked as coated). This was the beginning of a long and painful exchange of emails lasting until I finally received a refund on November 21st, over 2 months after placing my order. I ended up buying Brembo rotors from PartSource. Good price, good product, NO HASSLE! PartsAvatar are crooks. Their practices are underhanded. They refused to accept responsibility for recommending the wrong parts to me, they pretended that their phones were having technical difficulties (an excuse I read about in other reviews from years ago) and they weren't going to give me a return authorization until I threatened them.
