The next day we got an email stating that we would need to pay an ADDITIONAL $400, from what I ALREADY PAID, for shipping the part. While I can understand some parts are more expensive to ship, why was this cost not provided during the checkout process?? Nothing was mentioned about this. Shipping was selected and paid for and included in my total, that I PAID FOR, at check out. Checked out their Web site, found the part I needed, said "in Stock", ordered and then get an email stating they have to Special Order it and increased the listed price from $375 to $775. The web site also said any "in Stock" item would take 3-5 days delivery, now would have to wait 3-5 weeks for the part. Answered them that they could forget me ever doing business with a company that uses false advertising to try to get customers. Taking my business to someone who is honest. Ordered 2 parts on 2/5/21. I got an email on 2/13/21 telling me they didn't have one of the parts and that their policy is to only ship complete orders. This email went on to explain that my options were to wait or pay extra shipping and they would send the parts separately. I finally received my parts on 3/5/21 (yeah, a month later). If you have an old lawnmower and are thinking of replacing it...wait one. I have a 15-year old Yard Machine I purchased at Lowes back in 2001. It has a diehard Briggs & Straton engine but all engines need TLC from time to time. Last week it starting spitting and sputtering, accelerating very fast, back-n-forth, etc. I do take care of it and perform maintenance but it needed more than a little TLC. I took off the air cleaner and one of my carb-springs wasn't even connected, rather broken. It was time for a few new parts to include both carb-springs, most likely a fuel filter and I knew the little gas tank needed to be drained and cleaned out. I started to disassemble it (go to Youtube) and was correct. I even drained the gas through a filter and a half teaspoon of debris was in the filter. I'm surprised it ran at all. As I took the carb off the gas tank, the carb-diaphragm was very stretched out, again, surprised the engine ran at all. I checked local sources and after a lot of "no's" or "we might be able to get it in a few weeks" I turned to Google. I'm happy to say I found www.partstree.com and was ecstatic when I discovered they had everything I required and more. For a grand total of $40.21 ($7.95 STD shipping so order everything you need in one shot) and a few hours of very simple work, my old Yard Machine is running so close to new I can't hold my smile back. These guys are perhaps the most dependable part supplier for my X Mark Diesel mower in the country. I ordered needed parts at noon on day one and got the parts by 3P.M. the next day. Simply outstanding customer service. I cannot imagine any one could do better. I try to buy local when I can, but my local supplier now makes you come in to place a part order. Frankly, I do not have time to travel an hour to order a part, then an hour to get it. No more local X Mark part buys for me. Updated review. Before purchasing you may want to call and check to see if the parts are in stock. In my case mine the parts I ordered were out of stock for a week, but when the parts shipped it was correct. I am updating this review because the customer service is pretty good. I say pretty good because at first no one contacted me about the delay until I posted a negative review on here. It was only then I was contacted days later saying my stuff was back ordered this was the part I had a problem with. If the website would you let you know before ordering the part needed was not in stock would have made the transaction better unfortunately after you check out you get a notification saying IF parts are not in stock the order will ship as soon as the parts are in stock. Weeks or a week who knows? The company says they have no control over this, but the company could let you know before purchasing or before processing the order on the credit card. Just fyi incase you need these parts. I read online others having the same issue. Over all I got my parts just way later than expected, then again if one does not expect much you'll never be let down. The part that arrived was the wrong part and when I called Parts Tree for the correct item they insisted I would have to pay shipping both ways even though it was their website that was wrong. The representative tried to tell me their website was correct so after hanging up I got on my computer to check and sure enough their website showed the same exact part they sent me which was the wrong item. If a part is advertised, it doesn't mean it is in stock or even easily obtainable for them. The only way you can find out if a part is back ordered is by ordering it, then waiting.
