This store has awesome customer service! My sister had ordered birthday balloons for her daughter and received a text saying that her order was ready. So when we drove here from La Mesa, we assumed the notification meant that the balloons would be ready, too. However, when we arrived, were told that they wouldn't be ready until an hour and a half but they only had part of her order ready. After letting him know we drove from La Mesa and we had to be back by 12, the nice man said to give him about 10-15 minutes and he could see what he can do about pushing the ready time up. And within 15 minutes, he had her order complete and brought the balloons out to the car as promised. Thank you for a great customer service experience Highly recommended!! read more

I stopped by here to get some decorations and balloons for my son's birthday and was pleasantly surprised to see that they remodeled the store. The layout is more open and makes a lot of sense with birthdays being on one side and holidays and other part supplies on the other side with balloons in the middle. The aisles weren't as full as I had hoped but I am not sure if that is because the store just re-opened or maybe a supply chain issue, but I was a bit disappointed and didn't get much in the decoration area. I did love the variety of balloons they had though. I got a couple of decorations and a bunch of balloons. I got one balloon from the wrapped section and then I got half a dozen loose balloons in different colors and decorations to have blown up. I went to the register and paid, and they were able to start filling my balloons immediately. I wasn't going to be using the balloons until the next day, so they filled it with some high float to get the balloons to last longer and that was perfect. The balloons lasted much longer than I needed and allowed for a lot of fun by toddlers. Overall, I was pretty happy coming here. I hope the shelves can be a bit fuller next time I need to come but I know I will be back for balloons for my other son's upcoming birthday. read more

These are my sad balloons I just picked up. The clerk let me know that they accidentally inflated my balloons two days ago by mistake. Super weird. One of the balloons was dead and gone and they cut it off right in front of me. Again, weird. I asked if they could top off the donut that was on the ground and they said no because I was an hour early. Really!?? I asked again nicely if they can add a little air to just one balloon. They said I have to come back at 12 since that was my scheduled time. My oldest son is 19, so that's how long I have been getting balloons here and I'm an event planner. I have come to pick up my balloons early many, many times before and not had an issue. I just stopped in there to pick up plates for a party and there was a very uncomfortable looking homeless man yelling in the back by the store and when I went to the checkout counter I said to the young lady if there was maybe a male associate working in the store that could handle the situation. I didn't think it was something that a young female employee should have to confront this very aggressive homeless man. I was confronted by an eye roll and a look of confusion and almost disgusted look by this young female employee.... I asked her if I said something to offend her all I was trying to do was look out for her safety and again another eye roll and disgust.... Last time I went to Party City was during the pandemic, so selection was not great. This time selection was greatly improved. Visited the Santee, California location looking for cow print items. Found a few things, so we were happy. I was looking for something that was supposed to be in stock in the Santee store according to the website, however it wasn't available on the shelf, so ai asked a store associate. She just pointed at the aisle and said if we have it, its there. I explained that maybe the website wasnt updating as the item wasnt there. She didnt say anything in reply to help or that there are delays from sales to website content, etc...word to store clerks, associates, and managers, customers dont mind if the price is a little higher than expected, dont really get angry of stock is out or low, and really just expect people to at least act like they care about their job and the customers who keep them employed. read more

I already left a scathing review for the Party City in Mission Valley... Long story short, I ordered balloons online and was sent the wrong color. Mission valley tried to charge me for exchanging the incorrect ones for the ones that I had paid for! Santee didn't charge me. They empathized with me and worked with me. They made sure they had my items in stock AND made the exchange WITHOUT charging me extra. This store is the ONLY REASON I will consider shopping at party city again. read more

I appreciate how stocked and clean this location always is. I do feel that Party City as a whole needs to update their themes. But the problem I had with this location occurred over the phone. I simply called to see if I could pick up our small ballon order 2 hours earlier. The associate who helped me, I think she said her name was Aleena, seemed very annoyed that I asked that. Her tone when responding to my questions reminded me of an immature young child. She was not helpful and made me feel incredibly embarrassed and guilty that I called and asked a simple question. Though she said it was fine, I can't get over the tone. When she answered she sounded very sweet and polite but her voice changed in response to my question. Been coming here for years for the odd items for parties and for Halloween costumes. Now with a wedding coming up I needed invitations and really had no idea where to go. Last time I did this there were specialized shops for invitations. I remembered seeing a section at Party City so we went to check them out. First of all, they have this amazing gal name Desiree who knows this stuff inside/out and thank god for that because the selections are vast. She helped us decided which direction to go in and which books to look at. Once we decided on our invite, we left and went home to think of what we wanted to say in them, after all we are not the traditional kind. Then we called made an appointment and went in. Once again we were so happy to have her help. We made our choices, paid and waited only two days to see proofs. Once we signed off on the proofs, it was just a few more days and we had our beautiful one of a kind invitations. Invitations are expensive and trust me I like to save money so I tried all sorts of avenues and honestly these cost as much as if I had printed out myself at home. (not cheap, but comparable). The invitations are so beautiful, now all that's left to do is address them. I hope my fake calligraphy passes muster.. LOL read more

Every time I come to Party City (which isn't all that often) there is someone in front of me buying balloons in line. Buying balloons, actually, ORDERING balloons for pick-up at a later date, seems to be an extraordinarily time-consuming affair. Therefore, I wish their policy was to open another register whenever someone is engaged in balloon ordering. While I waited, four more people got in line behind me. Only a single register was open. I got a costume here. You look at the wall of costume pictures, then tell someone which number you want and size. This worked fine for me. There was a worker coming out of the stock room with costumes for another lady, so I simply asked for help. However, there was no method to this, so I think on a busy day it would be a chaotic survival of the fittest, whoever can grab an employee first. read more

This is a decent party city- There's a great deal of a selection (different themes all separated into different area). So all of the Frozen stuff is altogether, and all of the mickey stuff is together. They have everything you could possibly want for your kids party... a bit pricier (you could find generic items at Walmart or the 99cent store for cheaper... if you weren't looking for a specific theme). I was having a rough day (planning a bridal shower will do that to you). Super stressed, did NOT have time to look around for everything I needed. Paul was so helpful. I couldn't find champagne flutes to save my life, and he was very friendly, had a great smile, and told me exactly how to find them. Then, since he had been so helpful with the flutes, I asked him where I could find name tags and he took my directly there AND made sure that the tags were what I needed (they were, thank god). Have not been to this location in several years, since Holloween. What a great time to go because they are ready for ALL the upcoming holidays. I'm from New Orleans and they are loaded for Mardi Gras parties. They're also geared up for Valentine's Day and Saint Patrick 's day as well! Our granddaughter is turning "5" and party favors for all ages are available. The ONLY thing I didn't see is a balloon or banner for my 72nd birthday! They do have them for 40, 50, 60 and 70, but I've passed them. Oh well, getting old sucks, but there's not much you can do about that, right? Well, I tried to leave a quick tip back in June, but Yelp could not find the business I was standing inside. Anyway, I did now find them online, and I simply wanted to say "Thanks". I don't even remember the young woman's name who helped me. But we were out on an errand quest with my mother-in-law who had just moved, and one of the items she wanted were the old fashioned "I've Just Moved, Here's My New Address" cards. It was really difficult to find, and we had been to several stores. I actually entered in the wrong location and had to park, then walk across the Santee Trolley stop platform to reach this place. Not much in terms of selection, though. And there is so many cool balloons and party favors and decorations and pretty much everything you need for a party! The prices are a tad high for some items (like stuff you can get at walmart) but it's definitely a one stop shop for a party. I was excited for the New Year with everything that's going on I was looking forward to a New Year . Looking for a nice champagne balloon for our dinner and I asked Colon looked like he was the manager . I saw some balloon bouquets and I only wanted just the big champagne balloon . He snapped at me and said they were sold out and only come in balloon bouquets . I moved on and saw some single balloons at the side of the store . I was choosing what I wanted and he hurried me out saying that side is staff only and snapped at me again . I saw other customers looking at the balloons before . After a fiasco of so many items out of stock, lack of *customer service*, and waiting in line over 10 minutes for the things I could find at the Mission Valley location, I headed to this Santee location. Only saw 3 staff members...that never acknowledge us, and no other customers in sight. Pretty dead at the moment. Surprise, surprise! Although the employees were brain dead and not interested in the spirit of *customer service* and friendliness, the store had a ton of more items instock! Hallelujah! But, when it came time for asking for *customer service*, neither the nice enough cashier dude, or the scabby lipped girl that he called over, would help with a transaction that I requested. Clearly, it was something that could be done. Lazy workers. But, granted, stupid me forgot to use my discount app at the previous location. Even though I was pooped from a long day of shopping for an upcoming party and didn't really feel like going through the motions myself, they didn't want to help me to return the items and rering them either. ZERO *customer service*. I'm talking a $30.00 savings here ($30 off $100 offer). Best believe I won't forget to use my discount app next time...at a DIFFERENT location! read more

We went in for supplies for my husband's 50th only to find out that section doesn't exist! I would understand if the store was full of holiday items since it is a couple weeks before Christmas but over half the store was empty!
