I enjoyed my visit much more this time! Both employees greeted me when I entered the store and they were quick to get somebody to check me out. The checker was a really nice person and seemed happy to be at their job! They had exactly what I wanted, which was some lime green hairspray, but it was $9.29! It's the professional stuff so I understand the price and was willing to pay it. They also have cheaper options for colored hairspray. I think a lot of people don't consider this place when it's not "holiday" or Halloween time but they have so many fun products. Rhinestone and disco mirrored cowboy hats caught my eye at the checkout! Probably about six different varieties of those. We always went there for fun. We bought plenty of products too, but people there were always in a good mood. And so many things to see. The displays were obviously carefully and artistically done. We lived quite close by, so we went frequently, always delighted by the displays and products and the people. Working there must be fun. We will miss it a lot. No one else does the kind of creative displays. We often stole their ideas for our decorations. We loved that we could buy a lot of things...always some on sale and always good deals on everything. I've come here a few times now and always got what I needed. I think Party City does have more variety in terms of themed party balloons and tableware type stuff. However, this place has just enough and I found what I needed. Also I think their prices are pretty good and their balloons last for days. The other standout is they do have a huge variety of costumes so I would definitely come here to look for one. Overall, I'm happy there's a store like this so close to me! read more

I would not recommend visiting Party @ Display and Costume, if you're looking for a wide selection. Party City is much better. I came here to look for Friendsgiving decor and party supplies, but had no luck. As soon as you walk in, it's immediately packed with Christmas supplies. I asked an employee on the floor where the Thanksgiving items were and eventually found the half shelf with the Thanksgiving supplies, which only had two party hats, some table covers, napkins and a few signs. No banners, no plates and no games. I was surprised by how much the store lacked, especially compared to other party stores. If you're looking for something specifically themed, I wouldn't advise coming here first. They seem to have all the major themes like Christmas, but can't compare to other stores. read more

I came in here yesterday looking around for some accessories for a party I have this weekend. They have a great selection for Halloween costumes, decor and party supplies but man-o-man is this place over priced. I was looking at some sequin hats and they wanted anywhere from $12-20 I thought that was a little much. Then I went to look at little flimsy sequined masked and those were $5! I should have probably just gone to Red Light or a Craft Store. I couldn't believe how much they rip people off. But the good part is, I found what I am going to be for halloween :D read more

Lots of costumes available year round, rather than just at Halloween. They do have a good selection of party goods (paper goods, favors, etc.). You can get balloons at $9.99 for a dozen standard balloons. They also have a pretty good supply of seasonal decorations (Valentines, St. Patrick's, Mardi Gras, etc.). Rentals are available and if they do not have it in the Issaquah store, they can get it from the Seattle store, but with a delivery fee. The employees are nice and helpful and do seem to have a good handle on what is available in the store. One frustration, I found a great vinyl tablecloth that I wanted for a party and bought it and a couple of days later found it for 40% less at Party City. That was a pretty large difference which made me question the prices through the rest of the store. I understand that Party City is a large chain and has much stronger buying power, and I'm willing to pay more for convenience and to support a local business, but I thought a 40% difference was too much. read more

Competitive price on helium tanks - and more. Our business does a few events every year - and we need helium to blow up balloons. The events are usually several week apart. So, what we like to do is rent a large tank and keep it for a month or two. Around the time we moved to Issaquah, we stopped by Party at Display & Costume to check their prices on the tanks. They were comparable to the place in Lynnwood we'd been using for a couple years because of their low price. And, we got an added bonus. Our last round of events had a "Frozen" theme (the movie). We'd planned on ordering much of the decorations on Amazon. But, while we were scheduling our helium tank, we quickly realized these guys had all the Frozen stuff we needed. One stop shopping for us. I have shopped here for many years and have had no problem and have always loved the variety they had. However over the last month and planning a wedding let's say I have been in there almost every day buying more and more items. In total over $500.00 in decorations and misc items. I have a few items to return about $20.00 worth. I have never been treated so horribly for returning items! Apparently they do not understand that at times you do need to return items since you do not need them. They would only accept three items totalling $6.00. I will donate the other items as I do not need them and will NEVER shop here again!!!! Be sure if you purchase here that you keep every receipt, that you return items within 30 days not a day later and that they are still in stock! read more

There's a lot more in this store than I imagined! It was my first time here, and like everyone else there, I came for a costume. It's 3 days before Halloween, I expected my options to be limited. They have SO MUCH stuff. Costumes were a wide selection and sizes, only ones that seemed limited were the Marvel costumes because of popularity. Quick, clean, a little chaotic because it's 3 days before halloween but otherwise great. Their staff was very kind and thorough. My friend Rachel and I were both helped by Kyle. He had previously helped this woman who was honestly so rude I was beside myself. Throwing a fit cause she had to buy a sample because like me, she showed up for a costume for her kid 3 days before. He kept his composure, assisted her to ensure she was happy. My heart goes out to him because she was just that rude. He did a great job. I'll definitely be back for all my party needs! read more

What a great store. I had driven by several times and finally decided to stop. We had received a 20%off coupon in our recent ValPack. With my son's upcoming birthday party, I decided at the very least, I would order the balloons at the store with my coupon. Not only did they a huge selection of balloons, they had every costume known to man. There were several isles of Halloween decorations. I was impressed with all party options when it comes to themes. They had little toys and trinkets for goody bags as well as baking and decorating stuff for cakes. I found everything I needed at this one store and found their prices to be competitive. I loved not having to make a drive to Bellevue. I will use this store in the future for all my party needs. My MIL bought some Mylar balloons here the other day for my son's 1st birthday and by the time she had got home, the largest one was half deflated. I took it back to the store with the receipt and went to the front counter where the elderly lady who looks like she drinks straight vinegar said, "You'll have to go to the balloon counter." I go there and the young lady and young man initially smile at me, but then quickly change their attitude when they realize I'm not there to buy more balloons. I tell them the story and they spend 10 min looking for a hole in the balloon... checking the valve.... trying to squeeze more helium out.. all while having an under the breath conversation... like what are you going to do? Duct tape it?! She finally says to me, "So what do you want me to do?" well.... since you sold my MIL a defective balloon for $10+, and that was yesterday, well within your return policy, how about you replace it? Then she says, "You know you can always call us when you find something wrong with the ballon." Oh really!? you're going to help trouble-shoot your defective balloon over the phone? They Finalllly agree to give me a new balloon and we leave, but the whole ordeal was ridiculous. Needless to say, I, nor the rest of my family will shop here again. read more

I drive from Issaquah to Redmond and shop at Everything Party -- it's worth the extra drive to not deal with this stores ridiculous return policy; rude and unhelpful employees; and over-priced items. Don't waste your time or your money. Oh...and don't stop in the store 15 minutes prior to closing...they will boot you out faster than they will rip you off with their prices. I have to preface by saying my daughter and I love shopping at the Northgate store. We plan a special day after Thanksgiving to kick off the season with a visit to Display &Costume. Friendly, helpful- great selection.We look forward to going there several times a year! This year we thought we would try the Issaquah store. What a huge mistake. Terrible holiday selection - dusty shelves - low stock - but all this is unimportant really it was the staff that threw me. From the first step in the door to the last step out it was a miserable experience. Two staffers actually went out of their way to ignore us . One walked around me so he wouldn't have to engage. It was odd.The cashier couldn't even plaster a fake smile. The balloon /ribbon counter staff were barely civil. I asked about the Perk membership and Military discount - the response was so unpleasant I felt a little embarrassed to even ask. The entire experience was weird and uncomfortable.I was determined not to let this experience ruin the day though. I would encourage everyone to make the trip to the Northgate store . read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ! I went into the store today armed and ready to purchase many items for my beautiful baby boy's 1st birthday. We have thee children and I always shop for their B-day party supplies at this store. About 5-6 hundred dollars per year. Anyway, I do not own a smart phone so I wrote down the 20% off coupon code and went to the store. I gathered a cart full and headed to the register , after ringing me up I handed them the code and they told me they could not type in the code unless they could see it on my phone. I then asked if they would type in the code and "pretend" they saw the smart phone because I do not own one. They refused. So I left the store and the basket of things behind. I was very upset because I know it was not an issue of needing a bar code...it was an issue of the cashier having a God complex.
