Rhinestone and disco mirrored cowboy hats caught my eye at the checkout! Probably about six different varieties of those. It's frustrating to see such inflated pricing, especially when there are other local stores--like Fireworks and Carousel--that offer fair prices and great service. I want to support small businesses, but not at the cost of being taken advantage of. I hope this store reconsiders its pricing strategy.

It had been years since I'd been in a Hallmark shop, but this place gave me all the good vibes I remember from my childhood and young adulthood. Loved the large selection of cards and the decent variety of prices for cards. I bought five cards that day and checked off all that I needed for my summer birthdays list. Enjoyed looking at the gifts and trinkets throughout the store, even the cheesy ones. The cashier that helped me was super nice and friendly. I'm so used to getting bad or mid customer service, that his kind and thorough service surprised me. I signed up for the free Crown Rewards program with his help and was psyched about the $5 off coupon that comes with it (sent later so you can use it with your next purchase) along with all the other perks. I will definitely be back to Trudy's Hallmark shop later this summer to stock up on all the cards I need for this fall. Already looking forward to it!

Their famous ornament club is still going pretty strong, so strong they raised prices often, with tariffs, the pricing this year is unattainable at least as far as I am concerned. For example, a standard size Disney licensed ornament for 30 dollars. Recently, I saw they are selling fake Labubu in the store for 15 dollars. I was super bewildered, and surprised. When is it ok to sell counterfeits under day light in this country? Fake labubu's next to your Jesus and religious products? I think Hallmark corporate really needs to reconsider this decision. It has the best selection and very competitive prices without complicated coupons and sales. We are creatures of habit, with my wife using JoAnn's Fabric for her sewing crafting needs because that's where her family shopped while she was young. Later Michael's became the place as they expanded and opened new stores in our area, and her other mom friends recommended. Now Hobby Lobby seems to be the place as we convert to an empty nest and help my newlywed daughter decorate her new place. This location isn't as new as the ones we have been going to in California, and wasn't nearly as well staffed. In our case, we were able to find everything on our own. I did learn that items marked as 'Your Price' (which is a large portion of the store) is the final low price, no other discounts apply. The vast majority of product are inhouse brands, with the price preprinted (which saves labor on pricing tasks). The only hiccup was that nobody was actively manning the registers when there were no customers, and could only scale to one register even with many customers waiting. But as I've recognized, personalized customer interaction is more important than speed and efficiency at craft stores, and it's obviously working for them.
