This store is so much fun!!! I came on a mission for piñatas, and Champion Party Supply did not fail my expectations. Honestly, my expectations weren't the highest, being Mexican and having grown up in Southern California with many beautiful and creative piñata options everywhere. Still, Champion had tons of different options and fun designs. I got totally distracted while being here -- there were so many fun party props and decorations, and I liked how organized the store was. This store is definitely a gem, and customer service was great from the initial phone call I made to inquire about available piñatas, being in the store and asking for help, and the checkout process. Smiles and kindness all around! I'd give an overall 4.5 - as others have mentioned, prices are a bit steep for some items, but you'll find everything you need here without the hassle of searching for things at multiple stores. After a minute of walking into the store, an employee hastily came after us saying we need your bag. I had a small backpack with barely enough room to hold my wallet. But she rudely insisted that she take the bag to hold onto. (I'm assuming so we don't steal anything). But there was no signage or anything about this!! I felt like the bad guy for even bringing my backpack. It also made me a bit weary because I wasn't sure where she was taking my stuff or what they'd do with it. Luckily nothing was stolen but it made me on edge while I was inside the store. Shoping experience was fine, they have a ton of supplies sorted by themes like graduation, st Patrick's day, etc. also a huge collection of costumes. After shopping, I realized I was running late to the party. So I tried to check out quickly with my party supplies and 3 medium-sized balloons. Checked out, now all I was waiting for was the balloons. There were 3 staff, 2 fulfilling balloon pre-orders and 1 checking out. I was in a time crunch so I asked the ballon staff if it was possible to fill up my balloons first before fulfilling pick up orders. But I was met with a snarky reply saying they were understaffed, swamped with work, and I'd have to wait. There were no other customers checking out and no one waiting for their pre-ordered balloons. It only takes a minute to fill up my balloons. Why did I have to wait 10!? read more

Awful experience. I bought some squirt guns that I was told I could return so long as they weren't opened. I carefully filled them with a small amount of water to see if they leak as I know cheaply made water guns often do, but was hoping this store sold quality items especially they were $20. Sadly they both immediately leaked out the tips, so I emptied them fully and brought them back to the store to exchange them. I was told they are considered a "wearable" and we're not returnable, which is exactly opposite what I was told previously. I explained they leak and I was told to take it up with the manufacturer in the United Kingdom. They don't care about selling shoddy items, take no accountability and receipts are apparently useless. I even asked if I cold buy a second pair and test them in the store with a tiny bit of water (again without opening them) and was told this wouldn't be fair to the next customer if they did leak?! How is that logical at all? I feel they should care of their items work at all but clearly they don't. Worst customer service experience I've had in many years, save up money and buy from a company with better return policies of buy directly from the manufacturer themselves. read more

Came here last Thursday to see about getting some balloons blown up that I had purchased on Amazon. I also needed decorations for a party I was having the next day. When I asked about getting the balloons filled, the girl behind the counter said "oh,we don't really like doing those." She suggested they do a test balloon to see if they would even work (since they were purchased outside they couldn't guarantee the quality, this I understood) and I agreed. I also agreed to pay for the test balloon because I was told I would be charged for it. After filling the ballon and seeing how good it looked, I decided I wanted to go ahead and have the rest filled. I wanted about 15 done. The girl then says "it's going to be $8.99 to fill each balloon", I asked why would it be that much to fill those and she replied "it's because of the labor, and they take longer to fill up." I didn't know this store paid their employees by each balloon they blew up and not per hour like regular businesses do. I then asked how much it would be to rent a helium tank. Another worker immediately chimed in with "it's really about 'know how', we have experience filling balloons, we do it every day." These people get paid to fill balloons and not to school customers about "know how." How did she know I wasn't some sort of balloon filling expert? They wouldn't give me a price for the tank after I asked one more time. The first girl kept saying "I t's because it's a perfect circle" at that point I just wanted to pay for the decorations and get my ass out of there. I paid for my things and went back for my "test" balloon and the counter girl said "oh, I didn't charge you for it" after saying in the beginning that she was going to and I agreed to. She then charged me for the balloon and "threw in a 'free' paperweight" the paperweight is literally a balloon filled with sand. Get real! I've never heard of so many stupid excuses when it comes to not wanting to do something. These people are literally employed to sell cake candles and fill balloons not give me a list of ridiculous excuses about: geometry and perfect circles, know how and experience, and labor costs. Labor?! They could have had just said "No, we don't do that," I would have been okay with that and moved on.. but excuse after excuse and the unnecessary bad attitude both girls had really left a bad impression. Champion Party Supply is a really cool place. I love going there for Halloween stuff, but they also have items for other holidays and celebrations (birthday, anniversary, baby shower, etc). I love their massive selection of Halloween costumes and accessories! Everything is sorted into categories, but sometimes it is difficult to find something specific. Luckily, everyone who works there is super friendly and very helpful. They have dressing rooms available, so you can try the costumes on. They also have a costume rental program in case you want to borrow something more deluxe. Champion also has a nice selection of Halloween decor. They have stuff like animatronics, fog machines, skeletons, tombstones, spider webs, etc. Overall, I think the prices are pretty reasonable and I prefer supporting a local, family owned business like Champion when I can. The only bad thing is there are no refunds, so just make sure that you are happy with your items before purchasing. read more

Shopped here for the first time for my son's 1st birthday party. It's a bit hard to find if you're just driving along 15th/Elliott, but it's actually quite a decent-sized party supply store. Birthday, Halloween, Christmas, you name it...they have a theme with goodies for you to choose from, including a large variety of costumes for all times of the year. My disappointment was the selection of children's birthday party themes. Was hoping to walk out with a ton of Thomas & Friends decorations...but, they didn't have it! In fact, the entire "baby" birthday themes seemed lacking in general. It was difficult to even find a generic "1st birthday" theme in standard pink or blue. I settled for a dinosaur theme, but even that was pretty limited. I was only able to get napkins, a birthday banner, and tablecloths. At the end of the day, I probably spent more than I wanted to for the few items that I bought, but I had waited until the last minute, so I had to make do. If I was shopping for a costume party, this would be my go to store. They had aisles of really fun items. But for future birthday parties, I think I'll head over to the chains like Party City to get my decorative needs met. read more

Great customer service! We were immediately greeted upon entering and shown directly to the items we asked about, as well as being checked on while we dithered about trying to make a decision. The selection in Halloween costumes was incredible - we were all able to find something that was cohesive but individualized for each of us (antlers galore!) and the salesman had some great ideas as well once I told him our theme. We had more excellent service at the make-up counter - he helpfully showed us several different options for glitter and eyelashes and wasn't flustered with a group talking over one another. I've been here on a number of occasions and for the most part can always find what I need. Costumes for events, accessories, balloons galore, etc. My favorite part is that the staff could always give suggestions or recommendations. This is especially helpful when I have an idea but not quite sure how to go about it or make it happen. Sometimes it can be a challenge to find an employee, and if there's a line, it can take quite a while to get checked out. Employees always seem to be occupied, but once you are able to snag one from my experience they've always been very friendly. I would give 5 stars if they could focus on quicker customer service.
