This review is due to a simple phone call. I called asking about issues we've been having with a rear main seal leak. Abraham was very professional and clear about availability and experience with the issue. We mentioned we'd been to two dealerships who told us it's not under warranty, which Abraham said is nonsense and explained what we need to do next to deal with them. There facilities are clean, their diagnostics are accurate, their advice honest, professional and tiered by urgency, their estimates are accurate, their prices are competitive (but not cheap), and they usually get you in and out within 48 hours (of course depending on parts availability). Was recommended by a mechanic that doesn't do the type of work I needed. The guy with the beard gave me a bad attitude as soon as I walked in. Told him my check engine light came on and OBD reader came back with a code. Tried showing him the code and he says "That doesn't do me any good".. Wanted to charge me $225 to run diagnostics. No explanation as to why he can't use the code I provided, nothing. Very unprofessional and has bad attitude. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my car with him. Ya'll be warned. read more

This mechanic worked on my 2006 Toyota 4runner v8 Limited. I came in with knowing what the issue was with my vehicle and they diagnosed it to be exactly what I though(aka they are truthful). They replaced multiple valves and other pieces. They use only OEM parts and guarantee there work. They aren't as cheap as other mechanics but they are defiantly worth the wait and price! Unfortunately I need some work on my vehicle and had to cancel my appointment due to funds but I still Recommend 10/10 read more

I thought I needed to get my auxilary audio port fixed so I called around, and Abraham was the most reasonable and was the nicest person I spoke to. He was not pushy. He gave me a quote, and I brought the car in the next week. I dropped the car off, and within 20 minutes, he called back and said he didn't think anything was broken with the port (he wanted to make sure it was broken before dismantling the dash.) I came by and he showed me that the cable worked with his phone even after jiggling the cable a bit. It turns out it had to do with my phone's port or reception. He was very patient and did not make me feel stupid even after I asked whether the heat might have had something to do with it! He said if I continued to have problems, to just bring it back. Abraham didn't charge me for the diagnosis, was professional and cordial, and did not take advantage of the situation. I recommend this shop! read more

First I just want to Thank Abraham for saving me A Lot of MONEY!!!! I had to go to 3 different mechanics for a leak, because I was getting mixed messages, and Abraham and team basically summed the entire situation in less than a 2 min phone conversation, explaining thins in a very simplified way that made complete sense and saved me $400!! On another note: This just happened at another mechanic shop....They replaced my fuel pump $747...but that didn't fix the problem... Then they said oh, we need to replace the crank shaft sensor and the battery...$1,050. Later... I feel strongly it was the crank shaft sensor all along w battery, but they didn't mention that they were "guessing at my expense." I felt my experience with Abraham was Completely Different. He actually TOLD ME in detail the risk of removing a small part that it may lead to a bigger replacement... but he was fairly confident that he could get it done with a $14 part! He was so willing to really do the research and figure things out, that I didn't need to replace the "entire" radiator, and he also made 2 other recommendations: for example: Car Cabin filter replacement, no one has ever in 15 years mentioned a car cabin filter to me, and trust me, it is necessary to have that item changed after 118,000 miles he recommends every 30,000! (So I'm way behind) GO TO ABRAHAM!!! He is truly gifted with his trade and feels very honorable and trust worthy. read more

I am usually very suspicious when a business has all 5 star reviews because it is very easy to get family and friends to write those reviews but I don't think these guys need to have anyone falsify their reviews. They earned every bit of my 5 stars. I thought I was saving money on thoughtless routine maintenance like oil change so I would wait for a coupon in the mail for any lube shop close by and when it was time, I would go there but for what I thought I was saving, it really doesn't add up to savings. This time I had my oil changed, radiator fluid changed & transmission fluid changed. Things that I would typically go to a lube shop with a coupon but here is what I also got in addition to the 3 things I went in for. I got a professional checking everything else under the hood. For example: -My battery terminals were loose (could have been stranded somewhere if not tightened) and it had began forming that white cruddy stuff that will reduce performance of a battery. -Because he took the time to check my brakes (which consisted of removing all 4 tires) he noticed I had grease residue on my rear brakes (which means my rear brake didn't perform like it should thus shorting the life of my front brakes). Along with fixing these things for no charge, he gave my truck a clean bill of health. It was like taking my truck to the doctor for a physical exam. He could have easily over charged me for these things or amplified the need for things to service, but he didn't. Trust is something that take a while, and it must be earned, I trust Pasadena auto repair. So much that I don't have to go with my sister to make sure they don't overcharge or amplify things needed to service. I send all my female friends here and the best thing, I don't have to be there to make sure the guys aren't taking advantage just because they are girls. Once again, well done Pasadena auto!!! Abraham, Mary, and the whole team here are excellent AND ethical mechanics; they take their time to walk their customers through options, and never push for unnecessary repairs. When Abraham replaced my catalytic converter, he not only gave me the option of factory original parts vs. off-market, but he told me the difference between them, and left the decision up to me. He also shows me parts when he is working on them, because he knows I want to know as much about my car as possible. Was referred to this business by mechanic who didn't do the work I needed. Was disappointed to find they charge a $180 diagnostic fee which they don't refund from the work done. Certainly their perogative to do so. But charging for 2-3 hrs of work when many things are diagnosed within minutes by computer just seems wrong. read more

It's very rare you find people like Abe who are passionately involved in fixing cars. Believe me when I say I have known, and been to, a LOT of mechanics both personally and for my industry. He is one of, if not THE best. There is a price for his services, but it's my personal opinion that it's worth every penny if it's a real problem that needs a real solution. Even the extensive steps for a custom alignment, which I had performed, were impressive. My goals were discussed, individual specs for the camber, caster, toe, etc. all discussed and clearly defined. When I got my car back that same day, my mind was blown at how perfect my car drove when compared to before I dropped it off. Did I mention I went through 4 other places for alignments prior to here? Well I did. Now I know where to go from here on out. The bottom line here is that this is one of those places you can go to, and feel comfortable knowing it's in the best hands there are.
