Had another puncture today, made a visit today Friday as I usually work office hours and had the day off and this location is not open on weekends. I was told by the gentleman at the desk that there were a few appointments ahead of me so it would be a wait which was understandable for a walk in with no prior appointment. I was prepared to leave and come back to pick up my car but the manager came out and spoke to me a bit about why I was there that day and it seems a technician had finished their job ahead of time so they said a tire patch was quick and just handled my case immediately. I was out the door in 30 minutes, and the price hasn't changed in 3 years still $40 bucks for the tire patch. Where do you find service like this with an auto shop, and what business hasn't raised prices in 3 years? I saw a bakery increase cost on the same cake by $6 from April 2025 to Dec 2025, the price gouging is endemic. As I was waiting in the office I overheard another customer mention they were moving, and the employee told them to call from their new location if they had any questions about repairs or history on their car they might need when getting work done by another shop at the new location. That's not an attempt to sell any billable service, that's due diligence and beyond. I came to Crown City for a four wheel tire alignment since I upgraded my rotors, brakes, shocks, sway bar and links to better suit my driving style of mountain pass cornering. Walked in and first thing is their professionalism and welcoming attitude towards customers. They were very attentive with my custom request and walked me through a step by step process that makes you feel valued as a person. After recieving my car back, I went out to Angeles Crest for high speed cornering and then to Turball Canyon for a more back to back cornering assessment of the alignment. The car was responsive as I wanted it to move and felt the car as part of my own body. My wife who suffers from motion sickness when I took her driving up on Angeles Crest for her hiking or even driving on the 110 made her sick if I drove moderately faster than normal. She noticed the difference in the cars body roll and said its handling is much better than before, mind you she's not a car enthusiast. So, in conclusion this shop made me feel valued as a customer, helped me throughout the process to ensure quality and their work really spoke volumes on the road. This morning I drove to work from Santa Clarita and unfortunately experienced a flat tire before I was about to clock in for my shift. luckily I was able to locate a quick auto shop close by to help with my flat. They have a shuttle service to drive you home (if you're close) rather than waiting at the shop or calling an uber. And it's FREE. I've NEVER seen a shop do this. 2. Fair prices on jobs. 3. Transparency when it comes to charges. 4. Online system for confirming the work they need to perform after running diagnostics on your vehicle. You get a text or email (they'll obviously call, too if you're not responding) to approve the work needed. 5. Kind, friendly, staff that isn't just trying to take your money by lying to you about the work you don't need on the car. 6. It's a one-stop-shop for the kinds of regular maintenance you should be doing to your vehicle about twice a year. I used to go to Valvoline Instant Oil Change for oil changes and Tire Depot for rotations and balancing. Was kind of a hassle. But this place was smart enough to specialize in these two things at one location. They do extended services like suspension and brakes and they're honest about what isn't in their scope rather than trying to fix it when they shouldn't be. But wheel and oil service with a free shuttle, and they're fair and honest - you really can't beat that. If you're in the Pasadena area, bring your car here. Originally I came to this shop after looking around for a trustworthy tire shop between my home and work. Ten months ago, after 25,000 miles the tires on my Model 3 had enough. I came in and Leo gave me a few different tire options. I went with a good Michelin set and I was on my way. Since, I've had to return two times due to nails in my tire. Each time the staff (shoutout Marvin!) has been warm and welcoming. They patch me up as soon as they can and I'm on my way. You can't put a price on this kind of service! This morning, on my way to the bank, I noticed my left front tire was making a lot of noise. I stopped to check out the problem and noticed I had a big bolt embedded inside my tire. I then drove to Crown City Tire because I had heard nothing but good things about them. Leo, the advisor instantly assisted me and discovered what the problem was. He stated I only needed a plug. Thank God, because I did not want to have to purchase a new tire. The tire repair guy, Mikey repaired my tire promptly and was efficient. I was there for less than 20 minutes. Mikey was funny, professional, and kind. Leo was too. The place was modern and trendy with bright colors. They had top-of-the-line equipment and gave rapid service. Their prices are economical. If you checked in on "Yelp" and wanted to buy tires they have a deal on service. I highly suggest this tire company if you have any issues with your tires. Customer service is supposed to rule the day. And it did, at the start... and sort of at the end. Sorry about this novel. I just moved to Pasadena and was looking for a new mechanic. I was having some issues with my Subaru Outback. I started with one of these mobile mechanics. And they sent me a complete estimate of all the things wrong with my car. The brake replacement estimate seemed high compared to my old place across town, so I kept looking, and happened to stumble upon Crown City Tire Auto. I was actually calling around to see about catalytic converter shields. When I called up and spoke with Leo, he initially told me that they didn't offer the service, which as weird because it was on their website. But Leo called me back later and told me they did, and it was a new offering, and event went to far as to call around to see how they would handle an Outback.And because it would have to be a custom mount, he said he would refer the business out. That was so straight up and the extra mile, that I saw they serviced Subarus there, so let me bring the car in for a price comparison. Armed with my written estimate and description of everything that needed to be fixed - including brakes and most specifically coil #4. The mobile estimate was also recommending replacing all of the spark plugs. So Crown Tire takes my car. Eddie, the manager, calls me up and tells me that for $2500, they need to do my brakes, replace some hoses, do an oil change (and a couple other things).... and this random jerking I was feeling was being caused by engine mounts which needed to be replaced sometime soon for another $1500. Specially, I was told by Eddie that the recommended replacement on the Outback was not until 120,000K miles so I didn't need to worry about that, and the coils and spark plugs did not need to be replaced. I waited on the follow up items and did not replace the coils or spark plugs. When I left the lot, the car was driving ok -- but still had some jerking worse that before, I assumed it was just the engine mounts that I would indeed take care of. Cut to about 6 weeks later. The car just starts sputtering and jerking. The check engine light comes on. I take the car back in - you know because when you look it up on line, it says that sputtering is caused by hoses -- one of the parts they installed with a 3 year labor and parts guaranteed. Then I get the call from Leo, who is still very nice. And Leo tells me they need to do a deeper test which will cost me $190. There was misfiring in cylinder #4. B.S. So this was very much not going to fly. I was like -- is this anything related to Coil #4? I was actually surprised that there was not immediate accountability from Crown City Tires here. I brought my car in initially with specific issues -- and Eddie told me these things could be passed on. I told Leo to look at it from the customer perspective. I was not going to pay for this test and to go talk to a manager. I felt bad for Leo because frankly, while he's the nicest guy, he does not seem empowered to say -- let's look out for the customer in the right way -- and had to take it up the ladder to do so. THE REVIEW GOES FROM 1 STAR TO 3 STARS because of Leo and the managers doing this the right way. Crown City paid for the deeper engine test, gave an hour of free labor -- and at the end of the day -- had to replace all the spark plugs and cylinders. Huh.... for another $941. I'm really kicking myself because I should have just had the mobile repair guy do it. The car drives fine now. Hopefully for a long time. And I'm happy the technicians and Leo persevered here to take care of the car. Leo informed me that Eddie and the company parted ways and they are working on just taking care of cars the right way. I hope so. It's how it should have been done from the beginning. I hope management really understands the importance of honest and complete business dealings. Leo is excellent -- and sways the benefit of the doubt for your for the moment -- and your actually fixing the car finally does this. But when you have a service writer/manager who takes over and does not do a complete job, and can sell you a bill of goods based on the excellent customer services of Leo -- you end up with a problem. I hope you can completely figure out how to take care of the customer in a complete and honest way. We'll see how the car runs after this. But frankly, this experience that Leo had to navigate through on your company's behalf was pretty bad. Give him a raise -- and hopefully figure out how to diagnose cars properly on the first try. it would have worked out better all the way around. ----- I posted this review to the wrong location and am reposting, and got a long and detailed message from Thomas, the owner, which was an accountable response. The follow up is that the car drives properly and well now. Yes, Crown City will need to build back trust. We'll see about the future. read more

I've been here a couple times for tire patches and punctures and have been to going to the crown city in west Pasadena my whole life due to their excellent service. This past week I took my car in for a nail in my tire and an hour or so later when I arrived to pick up my car it wasn't on site. I asked my rep where my car was they told me a tech was out test driving it in order to reset the tire pressure sensor. He assured me you had to drive it in order to reset it. Everyone knows it's a simple reset button in your cars info entertainment selections and that there's no need to take somebodies are out for a 10 minutes drive around the block. It was clear the rep was lying to me about the process or resetting your tpms or he legit has no idea how it works. I told the crown city rep who was supposedly the manager he should have mentioned this test driving policy prior to drop off - then out of nowhere a random customer in the waiting room gets involved in our conversation and aggressively begins harassing me. It was super uncomfortable and the management there encouraged this combative behavior and it's really disappointing. Very weird and unusual experience - even as I write this review it feels random and the experience was one anyone would hope to forget. The manager claimed he would tell the store rep to give me a call etc blah blah regarding this issue. Obviously this has not happened. read more

Needed to fix a nailed flat tire fast. This place took us in and were able to get a new tire and rotate the old ones within the day. One star off for the heavy push on warranty and then sending us mail. We never saw an option or knew that we were then on a marketing list. At least make it real clear. My husband made it real clear that he did not want the warranty and the service guy said OK. I picked up the car and got the whole sales pitch all over. That was overkill and not a best practice to upsell the wife after being told no. Then we had to call and ask to be removed from the mailers. We don't mind an email if we have consented but not to snail mail since we are on a do not mail list. I hope they read this and rethink these practices. The site was incredibly clean and other than the heavy pitches for additional services the service people were friendly and professional. read more

Sad that I have to remove my original review on this place and give it 1 star. I've been having problems with my truck since they replaced the lower control arms. One shop said that "whoever replaced your lower control arms did not properly lubricate the joints and bushings." I'll give them kudos because they were able to find the issue with a worn out LCA, but after a year I finally found a place that told me my LCAs that were replaced by Crown City were the wrong part. Turns out my car is a non KDSS 4Runner, and the guy at Crown City Tire put in a KDSS lower control arm. How sad is that?! I spent an arm and leg to have the control arms replaced and they spoke to me with so much confidence that I won't get ripped off, and I sure as heck did. Very disappointing. Unfortunately, I can't get any warranty or replacement for the correct part. It is what it is. My advice is, get a second opinion before letting this shop take your money. read more

I'm from Sierra Madre but I live in Glendale now my parents live in Sierra Madre still and I've been driving on a spare for a month which is really bad so I had to get two of my back tires replaced. I called this place in the afternoon today they were able to transfer tires from another facility within 45 minutes and I showed up with my mom and the customer service is outstanding.. Very friendly and approachable mechanics; however, the inspection I ordered for a car I bought was unfortunately not thorough enough. When I called, the service advisor said the inspection is a complete 360 degree multi-point inspection. I asked if they check the engine, hybrid battery, etc. I was told over the phone 'yes.' This was not true. They run a scan to determine if any error codes didn't show up, but they didn't check the functionality of the engine at all. Like the fact the spark plugs needed to be replaced asap. Minor stuff. Thankfully, nothing wrong so far. However, even those things that were included in the inspection, were unfortunately glossed over. The license plate back-light was out. There were a couple of side bulbs on the headlights that needed to be replaced, and on the side panel as well. Also there is a creaking sound in the trunk I hear every time I open it. The origin of the sound cannot be determined. Would have been helpful had they told me what was going on. For $100, I had a better inspection experience on my last car I purchased . read more

I noticed they just opened up walking distance from my place, so I had to give them a try just in case they worked out it would be amazing to have a reliable mechanic so close. I had an intermittent red warning light come on randomly over the past month and finally decided to do something about it. I had seen that this shop had opened and since it had to do with my brakes I thought I would give them a try. Tom was very friendly on the phone and asked if he thought it was safe for me to drive (brakes you know) and I felt good because the brakes worked. I came right over and he told me exactly what he would do to diagnose the problem. His mechanic drove me home! Then they went to work trying to find the problem. All and all, he treated this older woman with respect and explained all the possible ways that I could address the problem, including doing nothing as a viable option.
