I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I consulted this surgeon for lipedema treatment in my lower legs and was told my calves could not be treated -- only my ankles and inner knees. On the day of surgery, the surgeon suddenly asked if I wanted to add my calves, which completely contradicted the consultation. I was already anxious and felt flustered by this last-minute change. When I asked the manager, she strongly advised against it, saying it would be far too painful with local anesthesia. After surgery, I was told that maybe they should have treated the calves because they didn't actually know if it would have been tolerable. That was incredibly frustrating to hear. I paid $12,000 and am now left with untreated calf lipedema and unevenness from the surgery. I now have to spend more money with another surgeon to correct what should have been handled properly the first time. The lack of consistency and clear guidance was unacceptable. read more

This review for Dr Schwartz and his staff is long overdue... I went to Dr Schwartz' office in 2013 for Laser Tattoo Removal. His price was very reasonable and the pictures of the before/after looked good so I set up my appt's. I did only 3 sessions because I knew I was going to do a cover up tattoo so I just needed the majority of my mistake gone. The "bedside" manner of Dr Schwartz and his staff was top notch. Everyone made me feel comfortable and welcomed. After roughly 15min (each session), I was done. When people say the removal hurts more than the tat- that is an understatement. Be ready for some serious discomfort. What I found helped the best was a fan pointed at me, flirt with the pretty nurse doing the laser and chomp away on gum. The numbing cream did not help at all on my first session so the next two I did without. I was very happy with the treatment and the removal of a serious mistake. Extremely disappointed in their processes and policies. I've been a long time customer with two pretty expensive surgeries in the past seven years. The last one being over $20,000. It was three years ago but still I am a prior client for many years. I wanted a consultation for a neck and mini facelift. When I called to make the consult appointment, the young lady told me that it would be a $200 consultation fee, and I needed to pay it immediately, even though they wouldn't be seeing me for over a month. I did ask if this applies to existing customers, she asked my name and date of birth. Came back to the phone and said yes the $200 does apply because it's been over two years since you've been here. Well, I don't know about you, but how often does one have major plastic surgery? We also moved out of the area for two years. I wanted to go in for a consultation for some pretty extensive surgery as well as book an appointment for fillers. Dr Schwartz has always been amazing. But I'm afraid he's been run by his office full of non-customer service oriented individuals. She was pretty rude to start and did not get much better towards the end of the conversation. Because of this, I will go to my other plastic surgeon in Pasadena. I wanted both opinions and both consultations. No idea how so much could change in just over two years. I felt undervalued and unappreciated as a customer. I met with Dr. Schwartz for a consultation about eyelid surgery. From the moment I scheduled the appointment, it felt like a big money grab. They charged me $200 for the consultation, before I even set foot in the office. I can see where the money goes...the office is very "spa" like with a big emphasis on selling various overpriced products and procedures. For $200, I certainly expected to have more than a ten minute conversation with the doctor, but that's all it was, and information was not forthcoming. I had to ask a lot of questions. No pictures were taken and no other diagnostics were performed that would have made me feel that I was going to receive individualized treatment. Then I had the hard sell with his surgery coordinator, who only remembered to mention that the $200 consult fee would credited to my procedure, after she heard my concern about the high price of the surgery. I've since had a consultation with another doctor, who also charged $200 for the consult (once I was actually at the office). This doctor spent almost an hour with me. His staff conducted various tests such as measuring eye pressure and tear production. They also took multiple photos that were helpful when the doctor was explaining what he suggested for my individual case. He also explained why he would also recommend an additional procedure to get the results I was looking for. This doctor also wanted me to send him pictures of myself as a younger person, so he could see the progression of my eyelid issue and have a better idea of what would look most natural. She was having trouble with her hearing, she went to several doctors before she found Dr. S, none who were able to find her problem. I have been a patient of Dr. Schwartz for many years but always for ear nose and throat issues, never plastic surgery, until almost 2 years ago. How do I begin to discribe Dr. Schwartz? This guy really changed my life. He has very talented hands. Since I was about 15 I noticed my face changed in ways that I did not expect. I was on growth hormone therapy and suffered a trauma to my nose and forehead. My tissue thickened up as a result. I was left emotionally scarred and I suffered looking at my face in the mirror. I went looking for doctors because I wanted to feel like myself again. Nobody would even touch my face due to the high complexity of the surgery. I was referred to a craniofacial surgeon who works all the major hospitals in Los Angeles and has a fellowship program. His plan called for a coronal incision (ear to ear) to peel my skin back, drill down my brow, and on top of that a rhinoplasty would have been needed as well. Well that all sounds easy until I did the actual research. I found out my recovery time would have been almost a month. My hairline would not be the same, I would loose most of the sensation in my upper face, and I would have an ugly scar. My family felt comfortable with this surgeon, but I was the one going under the knife, and I was horribly scared. A year passed, and I was on youtube looking at videos. I watched Dr. Schwartz do a rhinoplasty. He was so careful and meticulous with his work constantly checking every small aspect making sure it was all perfect. Once I saw the video I knew that I could trust Dr. Schwartz operating on my face. I went for my consultation and I felt comfortable with the staff. I felt as though Dr. Schwartz saw me as a person, and not just another case. My surgery was done using an endoscope (six ~1cm incisions) to avoid the coronal incision, and the rhinoplasty was done closed. That put my mind at ease knowing I would be back on my feet faster. I was further comforted knowing he does not schedule his surgery days with a high surgical volume. That means that I got more time with the doctor, and he took his time with my surgery making sure it was done ABSOLUTELY impeccably (it was a very long surgery). The whole team was personable and I felt safe throughout the whole experience. The care I received with Dr. Schwartz was excellent, it far exceeded my expectations. The American Board of Cosmetic Surgery is not a recognized board by the ABMS- I learned all about this stuff when doing my research. I had been going to Dr. Schwartz for about 16 years when he was "just" an ear, nose and throat doctor. I went again on August 14, 2015 after telling his staff that I had a lump in my neck. They told me 'not a problem'. I went and he no longer had any of my records, acted like seeing me was beneath him now that he was doing "cosmetic surgery", and that I was wasting his time. He ordered a MRI and I left. Since that day the radiology lab has repeatedly called him to get the right coding and check the order. Not once has he or his office responded to their request. Now I am going to another doctor that actually cares about his patients and not just about the money that they can make doing Plastic Surgery. I'm sure that he will bill my insurance company for doing absolutely nothing and do the same thing to some other patient. This guy is disgusting and shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine. I honestly wish I could give Dr. Schwartz and his staff (Chelsea especially) more stars than just five. I went to Dr. Schwartz after going to a previous ENT, to be a candidate for sinus surgery and rhinoplasty, and I don't even know where to start! Dr. Schwartz's demeanor is so calming, he's so knowledgeable, and extremely kind. I instantly felt at ease, because this is my face and breathing that needed work. He took pictures of me, went over what my face would look like, and listened to what I wanted. He didn't try to sell me injections (like other surgeons have in the past), and was so calm and patient. I knew that I wanted to finally get these surgeries done because of him. Once I scheduled, Chelsea, his patient coordinator was so diligent on sending me out a packet of do's and don't, prescriptions, explanations on what I was getting done and forms. Chelsea too was extremely calm and patient with all my questions. I wasn't even nervous on surgery day, and I am a worrier. Now, two months later, my nose looks better than I thought, I can breathe and its a pleasure to write this review that's filled with nothing but positive experiences. I totally had the same issues as MP from Orange County. I had breast implants and had a second nose job (the first one was 20 years ago and was botched). Implants turned out great, but the nose job was not good at all. I was also told to wait about a year because my nose was "doughy" and it also started to turn down at the tip and it is way too fat looking. It has now been about 3 years and I am not happy with the result at all. He did offer to re-do the procedure, but now I have to weigh having the same physician that botched it in the first place do it for free, or pay someone better to do it. I can't stand the thought of spending weeks bruised and battered looking, let alone the pain of it all, to go through this a third time. On top of that, I paid about $2400 for laser hair removal and 6 months of my time, all in vain. It did not work at all!! I also had him do my Botox treatments, until the last time when he injected it under my eyes for some reason which led to months of drooping bottom lids and difficulty closing my eyes. Now I go to my dermatologist who has not messed up the process even once. He is a very nice man, but once he moved to the new clinic, which I went to a couple of times, I just stopped going to him. The clinic is cold and not very inviting and he now always seems to me like he is rushed. read more
