I think it took longer for me to do the paper work then it did for him to run the tests on my car. Now I did have to wait a bit, but no fault to him at all for that. The guy in front of me was a complete idiot and would not take "your tires are fine" as an acceptable answer. No matter what the guy told him he kept insisting that his tires were not ok and he needed a place to take them. Sheesh. The owner has the patience of a saint to deal with that idiot. The cost isn't bad either. The "typical" price is $60 but he knocks $20 off as a "special" just for you. I put quotes because I worked somewhere that offered testing at a "set" price but we always had a "special" for a $100 off, so really nothing probably special about that special other than to make you feel special. Still I felt like I could trust him, he was fast, and it didn't cost much. Plus when I went to pay for my registry for my car the smog check was already there. No extra paper work! 36/100 read more

This shop is tops! I rolled in twice without an appointment and was seen both times. The first time I came in for a smog test, he told me right away I wouldn't pass because my engine light was on. Frustrated, because this was a long running issue that no one had been able to find a cause for, I explained that it'd been on forever and two mechanics had told me there was nothing wrong with my engine. In 30 seconds, he did a quick test and looked at my engine and knew what the problem was; my engine thermostat needed replacing! WOW! He explained why it needed replacing and how to get it remedied. He even helped me figure out how to pay registration and then come back for smog testing with no penalties from the DMV. After getting the issue fixed (see revie for Hrant Auto Service), I came back. He remembered me and quickly tested my car. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes and he gave me $20 off for a total cost of just about $40! (And he sent in the smog certification electronically so I didn't have to bother). Also, this is the cleanest auto shop I've ever seen! So well organized, even some nice drinks for sale. And this is a family business. I highly recommend this place for all your smog check needs, or any other needs this shop can handle! Very professional and hassle free. No joke, easiest smog check I've ever had. Pulled into the business and Alen greeted me, pointed to the direction of the waiting area. I didn't even get to settle in, and before i knew it, it was done. 5 minutes tops in and out. I will add i was probably in and out so quickly because i was the first appointment in but still so fast. This was my first visit and I will certainly be coming back in the future! I called around 12:30pm on a Saturday (today) and they were able to set me up with an appointment at 2pm for a smog check and an oil change. I showed up at 2 and they took my car in right away. I was out in 45 min with a smog check, full synthetic oil change, tire pressure check and fluids topped off. Very fast and friendly service. Smog check came to $45 with the $20 Yelp discount (they automatically applied it) and the oil change and service was $60 (more expensive for the full synthetic, but well worth it!).
