I never had a chance to try the food. This place has been on my bucket list to try since the food reviews are very good. As far as the service and ambiance, it is true what others are saying. The place is dark and dank. I was greeted by a young man who was more interested in anything but service to guests coming into the restaurant. There was not one person in the restaurant at about 12:15 pm on a weekday. They opened at noon. The fellow wanted me to sit near the cold door because there were other tables that needed cleaning from the night before that had crumpled napkins on them. I waited for him to clean a table for me while he complained that they just opened and I should sit where he wants me to sit. I sat down on the booth seat and it lifted on one side. I knew what I wanted before I went inside. I sat and waited. The server would not come over and take my order. He kept walking to the kitchen and hanging around at the cashier station and checking his phone. I waited for 10 minutes before I decided to leave. I figured it would be best for me to leave rather than be aggravated throughout the whole experience. Upon leaving the server made me feel as though I was putting them out since they just opened and I should be more patient. Most restaurants have their kitchen and wait staff up and running an hour before opening. If I had known the Kabob Corner was right down the street, I would have went there. Pasha may look a bit drab from the outside but rest assured, they're absolutely cooking in there. The chicken shawarma is exactly what was missing in my life. Everything now feels complete. Not to be dramatic but I've been searching for a solid Middle Eastern restaurant since relocating from Richmond years ago and Pasha easily fills that void. It's also a hookah lounge, which I'm not into. We went during lunch on a weekday when only a few were in use, so it didn't impact my experience at all. We visited from out of town and wanted to eat something we don't typically find in our area, we decided Mediterranean. Our meal started with the hummus platter, chicken Tikka plate with rice, the lamb plate with rice, chickpea soup, and pistachio baklava. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! The grilled chicken I had, is one of the best grilled chickens I have EVER eaten. We almost licked the hummus plate, and if you are iffy on trying the chickpea soup, don't be JUST TRY IT! The food was soo delicious, it is a shame the restaurant wasn't packed. ow the ambience and decor could be better, but the food was so delicious it didn't matter much. The falafel platter, artistically presented on a wooden board, and the vegetarian platter tasted as if they came out of a family kitchen. The falafel was crunchy, but not greasy, the hummus and baba ganoush were creamy and flavorful, and the tabouli was fresh and tangy. There were more than enough leftovers for the following day's lunch. The owner checked to make sure everything was satisfactory and assured us to take our time although it was the end of the night. I even waited the time needed for the Tandoor half chicken, and it was well worth it. The sauces are bold and excellent, I especially liked the cucumber one. Large dining area and middle eastern music you can tap your foot to as you eat. I also got the Pasha Traditional Mixed and it was off the charts good. The pistachio shish kabab and Slemani shish kabab are my new go to. I look forward to trying the liver as well as they were out. Stopped in on a Friday afternoon, it was an off time around 2 PM or so. Just a few other tables were occupied. It's not the greatest ambiance I've ever experienced in a restaurant as the interior is pretty plain and mostly black if I remember correctly. However, the food was outstanding! Food trumps decor any day in my book so I was really pleased. We had a Beef Shawarma Plate and a Mixed Kebab Plate with lamb and chicken. Absolutely delicious! We also both had cups of hot tea, very good but beware that they make it quite strong! I meant to ask what type of tea it was but forgot - maybe a Darjeeling? I just had the absolute best meal of grilled shish kabobs ever. I'm a world traveler and I am truly impressed. The mix beef lamb ground shish are tender and spiced amazingly and well done. I have been eating here occasionally throughout the past couple of years. The kebab and a couple of other dishes were fine, yet the service is poor and the owners don't really take care of the cleanliness of the place. I asked for bread which should normally come with a kabab meal. They said we have to order that separately which was odd, yet I ordered a few and they came out with black spots in the back which are caused by not cleaning the tandoor after each bread. Thus, causing the burned pieces of bread to stick on the tandoor get transferred to the new bread that they put on next. That burn is basically poisonous because burns contain acrylamide that can increases risk of cancer. Although this is on a smaller scale, it just hurts me and my family to pay money for such services. I also received threatening private messages from the owner that were unsent after some time because my family and I simply left the restaurant without eating, which was very unprofessional. There was food on the floor and the place simply lacked basic cleanliness practices, which makes me question what happens behind the curtains in the kitchen. The tables and chairs where all old and shaky with scratches and apparently one of them fell and broke after we pushed them in. I like how the skewers of kabab are made fresh and served in a nice way, I just wish they cared more about the place and the food service as they increased all the prices due to "inflation". Most places get shut down by the FDA due to cleanliness and a certain standards that they should be held for. I hope this improves in the future. read more

While on a business trip I found this hidden gem in Harrisonburg. We stopped in for lunch. The owner was very friendly and helped my colleagues with the menu and possible selections. I mentioned lamb kabob which was not on the menu. I ordered that with basmati rice and side salad. While my colleagues ordered the chicken kabob lunch special. Delicious!!! The food looked and tasted delicious. I asked the owner if he would be interested in opening a place in Richmond area. I wish I had taken a picture of our plates but we dug right in and demolished it. We are sure to be back when we are in the area next time. read more
