We travel from Norfolk 757 area to the Shenandoa annuall. Never miss a chance to visit A&A. Great authentic cuisine. The staff is so friendly. It's like visiting someone's home for dinner. Love It! See yall soon!!!

A & A Kaboo an outstandingly pleasant experience. Extremely fast service and their food was fresh. The falafel platter had plenty of rice and a sufficient amount of falafel; but needed a few extras on the rice. Salad with the platter was deliciously simple enough to make me smile.

The customer service here is excellent, I've gone maybe 5 times and they are already remembering my name. Very calm and nice atmosphere, especially if you get the chai tea! By far my favorite shawarma in Harrisonburg, the bread is always so fresh. Looking forward to trying more of their menu, A&A is becoming my favorite restaurant! Also try the baklava

We wanted something different and read the yelp reviews hoping they were as good as the reviews said. AND it was good! We had it delivered and it was here quickly and still very warm. We had the chicken & koobideh and the lamb & koobideh. The bread was great too. Great price for the food. Would order it again. Update. Today I went to the other middle eastern restaurant in the shopping center by JMU. Not as good as this place. A &A is definitely tastier, and much better for the value. I will come back here again for sure.

The kindest staff ever! Such lovely people here. They treated us to a tasty assortment of baklava; they made us such wonderful gyro and chicken platters. The falafel was tremendous. Nothing bad to say. Such a fantastic place all around. Authentic and delicious and such a great environment! Couldn't recommend it more.

Ordered food from A&A Kabob Grill through DoorDash! I ordered the Chicken Kebob Wrap, Lentil Soup, Fries, and a Kurdish Flatbread. The food is amazing. Came quickly after ordering and was still hot when it got here. Tasted fresh! The soup is so delicious and perfect for the cool rainy day. The piece of flatbread is huge (like double the size of my hand) and only 99¢ for one! The chicken is seasoned well and the wrap/fries were perfect for lunch. Pictures were taken halfway through eating bc the food was so good, it had to be reviewed and photographed!

First of all, know that Babylon is a market that happens to make delicious food. There are about 4…read moresmall tables inside and several more outside. As far as a Middle Eastern market it's pretty typical. They make the best of the shelf space by stocking them to the max. If you've never spent time in the Middle East then it may seem cluttered, but this is normal for this type of store. There were 4 of us and we ate inside. The absolute stars of Babylon are the food and the people. The gentlemen working were very helpful with the menu and super attentive to anything we might need. They're from Kurdistan and were all very very nice. The food was wonderful. We got 2 large sample platters, large hummus, and a small tabbouli salad. One of the gentlemen heard me telling my friends how they make the Saj bread, within minutes he brought out a large fresh Saj for them to try. It was hot and amazing. All the meat on the platter had great flavor. The rice was delicious, flavorful, and extremely plentiful. The hummus was good. The tabbouli was very fresh with a nice citrus flavor. The platter came with falafel, Saj, sauces, small cups of lentil soup, plates of pickled veggies (2 types of cabbage, jalapeños), along with olives, onion, cucumbers, and lettuce. The fresh baklava was absolutely amazing. To cut the sweetness they gave us some delicious black tea to finish the meal. We all loved Babylon and will be going back whenever we're in the area.

We started with an order of dolma- grape leaves stuffed with seasoned rice and cooked to just the right consistency- nothing was still crunchy, nothing was yet mushy. They vanished like djinn in the dawn, before I could get a picture. With them arrived our beverages- fountain drinks of the usual sorts. (Coke products.) As an Alan Parsons fan, I ordered The Pyramid - a homemade pita mounded with lettuce, tomato, homemade guacamole, brilliantly seasoned chicken cooked to perfection and served with rice, green beans, Muenster cheese and a marvelously spiced sour cream sauce. My Bride got the Loaded Greek- an Acropolis of fries, topped with a temple to the Muse of Gyros. Caramelised onions, red peppers, gyro meat, olives and tomatoes covered with feta and tzatziki. We split both dishes, enjoyed them thoroughly, and found ourselves sadly too full for dessert. The rice pudding and baklava combo is calling me to return... The total for this repast was a mere $34.42 before tip. More than reasonable, and just one more reason I'll be back!

Even when they were very busy, the wait for a seat is rather short. It's mainly four-top seats but they can push together tables as needed. There's music always playing and not a lot of padding to soften noise so I'd call the location "average" loud. Downtown Charlottesville doesn't really do free parking. You can park at the next corner in open parking to the left or paid parking to the right. But we're talking $2 or so, not a bank-breaking experience and with lots of shopping across the street it's worth staking out a spot and then walking the area. What I like: The food is tasty. The appetizers are solid. There's a large enough menu that you can always try something new. And the portions are ample enough to share. What I'm not so fond of: The waitstaff spend a lot of time at the front scrolling on their phones. They aren't too keen on refilling your drinks either. I say this as someone who has eaten here about a dozen times. Also, I don't normally mind cameras, but there are enough blinking lights on cameras to make it feel more like a jewelry store than a restaurant. That said, if you are not in a hurry, want some good food in solid portions, and plan to do some shopping or window shopping downtown, this has been my go-to place for years.

My husband and I close this restaurant to break my fast. We were greeted quickly by the hostess who led us to booth seating, and gave us menus. There was no need though, as we had already spotted the all-you-can-eat buffet. We requested only water to go with our meals; she quickly brought a carafe of chilled water and two glasses. This is a generous buffet with many selections for a complete meal, from soup and salad to dessert. There was a good variety of both meat and vegetarian options. Our FAVORITES included the fresh mixed chickpea salad (the chick peas, cucumbers, tomato, onion, parsley); lamb curry (which featured tender boneless and tender meat); rice pilau with raisins and carrots; borani badenjan (eggplant curry. Tip: drizzle yogurt on this);; bamia (okra) curry; firnee milk pudding (dessert); and the addictive dooth pati chai (spiced milk tea). There were also some items that we didn't enjoy as much but were still good. For instance, the chicken kofta meatballs, while nicely spiced, were very dry. And, the nan bread was disappointing. (There were also many additional good choices on the buffet that are not listed here). The ambiance in the restaurant is comfortable, with many paintings and decorations from Afghanistan. Some tables are in a side room, ideal for small groups or privacy. We noticed, but didn't visit, a downstairs shop with Afghan carpets and other goods. Plus, there's a shop on the side that sells groceries. Parking is plentiful and free. The lunch buffet was $17.99 each, plus VA sales tax (6.3%), city meals tax (5.3%), credit card service free (3.5%), and tip (variable). There are cheaper options available if you order from the menu. We would return when next in Charlottesville.
